ROIDS AND MOTORCYCLES

ad

So now that im starting to look like I can hold up a motorcycle with out the training wheels on, ima get one, in fact im putting the deposit down today, been riding dirt bikes all my life but this is my 1st street bike. Its amazing the confidence I have now. I am getting and 92 suzuki gsxf 600, bike still runs and looks good and I figure it would make a great starter bike for me, yeah i know theres other bikes out there with alot more power but i want to get comfortable riding before I make any steps up, beside for $2100, I feel like im the the one ripping some off. I test drove the bike last friday, you wouldnt believe all the attention I got from females, hell I couldnt believe it, since ive gained an ass load of weight Its like god give me someone elses body to go crazy in lol. cant wait to get it! im like a little kid lol any of you guys ride?

So I got my bike last night, I am stoked its wicked fast!!! BFG just to let you know I got my lid last weekend, its got bluetooth that supports media so I can listen to music while cruising around. Im all about safety so im looking into getting all the protective clothing. I am needing a little bit of help finding replacement fairings for it because one of the side fairings is cracked all to shit. Being that its a 92 gsxf 600 parts are a little hard to find. Anyone got any suggestions? Im all ears

looks are important but if it cant whip you out of that tite spot it aint worth a damn in my books

I'm 48---I quit getting into tight spots 20 years ago...lol

But you're married to grrrl... I bet you find yourself in a tight spot more than you would like.

Laid mine down a while back---first time ever. That's what happens after 8 double-shots of Vodka/cranberry, and a '76 KZ900 that goes straight really fast, but doesn't corner or stop worth a fuck.
Only Jap bike I'll ever own. STILL haven't found a better-sounding rice burner than my KZ with the Kerker pipe.

kerker pipes on an 85 vmax sound like well DA BOMB...............Yea all bikes from that era had shitty sorry ass brakes.............but fun as fuck cafe style bikes, no helmet, no shirt, and a fuck it attitude to go along with it...yea no mas alcohol and bikes for me....bullet fuckin proof and add in the gear forget about it...

I have a 2008 yamaha R6....some of the most fun you can have wit clothes on. You will here some guys say anything under a litre bike is for pussies, but a 600 is plenty. Take BFG's advice and gear up....I live in the southeast where it gets into the upper 90s in the summer, but I never ride without a jacket and gloves. People just don't look for bikes and in today's age where everyone has a fucking cellphone jammed in their ear while driving, you can forget it...assume no one sees you.

Yes - just waiting for the weather to get a little warmer and then it's time to get out on the bike.

The only thing that has happened to me while on cycle before is some wickedly painful forearm pumps while gripping the handlebars when its windy.

Enjoy the bike, you will probably wonder why it took so long for you to do it.

Look I know you're beasting it bro and you're doing a hell of a job in the gym, diet and all but be careful dawg. You take one good fall on a gxsr or any bike and you can say goodbye to all that meat you worked hard to gain. Injuries aren't cool man I'm not trying to be soft or anything I took my adex my estrogen is in control hahaha I'm just looking out for you bro.

Two kinds of bikes ones that have been down and ones that are going down. Keep that damn head on a swivel. To many soccer moms texting trust me remember they are rolling around in a cage. I have three bikes 2010 Yamaha R1,2007 Yamaha R6 and a KTM 450 sxf that I turned street legal supermotoed. I love the R6 the most I truly believe thats the best handling bike I have ever owned. I dont ride hardly at all any more. My wife sobbed a river of tears one night after she witnessed some jack ass doing 150 run into the back of a suburban. I understand she actually gives a shit about me. So now they sit under covers in the garage kind of sad really. Its not like it used to be out on those streets.

a good friend of mine was killed about 5 years ago on a gsxr 600, he had never road a bike before (on or off road) and he was riding down the hwy when a guy in a pick up truck pull out in front of him, he was only running 55-60mph, he died 15 minutes after impact. That being said, my wife is a safety freak, she is very paranoid who she rides with in a car much less on a bike, she tells everyone she feels safer riding with me than anyone. I have been driving since i was 12 and have been riding since I was 7, my father taught me how to drive. He was strict on watching your surroundings while driving, checking reviews and actually turning your body around to see whats behind you, to this day im paranoid about whats going on behind me, Ive learned to respect the roads and to watch out for other dumb asses on the road, I was a little hesitent about getting a bike for the simple reason that people here cant drive for shit, I have live here since 08 and has by far the worse drivers ive ever seen. I appreciate all your post, like I said im paranoid so I do watch everything, cant wait to get my bike though Smile

gear up first if you love your life man! lid, body armor etc. I've trashed 7 bikes in the last 10years either track, traffic or bizarre mountain scenarios, don't fool yourself - you will kiss it!! gear up, roadrash sucks.

That zook is a sweet ride man, 100bhp it's got is plenty for a new rider it will scare the living shit out of you at something like 9-10k rpm it goes mental Smile And those old machines got some sweet sound too, especially with yoshi or akra slipons
enjoy it!

popeboy1's picture

its got a brand new yoshi pipe on it, like i said ive been riding for years, just not street bikes, I am with you on gearing up though brother, wont get on it without it. im lookin forward to summer now for sure! thanks partner
