Worst feeling in the world is killing it in the gym only to come out and find your truck broken into. So i went back in and ask the guy at the desk if i could use the phone to call the cops. First thing outta this peckerheads mouth is Golds gym is not responsible. So i joined a new gym today. Just sucks trying to get all your id and stuff back. Just ranting

a friend had stuff stolen out of his gym bag in the weight room, thankfully my gym has cameras everywhere, they identified the guy, pressed charges, got his stuff back and the guy was banned from the gym. i heard another local gym wouldnt let him join for what he did at my gym.
Not a lawyer but those signs saying we are not responsible are pure BS.
Posting a sign does not absolve a business of their responsibilities.
If the break-ins have been frequent (check with your local newspaper for daily log of crimes reported) then either Golds or the property owner/management company may be liable for failure to provide adequate security.
Try small claims court. It's only a few dollars to file and most states don't allow lawyers to participate.
Yea i could try but honestly im out of pocket nothing. My phone is a business provided one and I cancelled my cards before they got anything. I found a new gym thats more like a dungeon and its not very crowded.
Yeah, I know what you mean. Lawsuits are a pain in the ass, and I can't help but feel like I'm not holding myself accountable for my own actions if I sue others.
Looks like some good came from it, finding a cooler gym.

that's just wrong brother, hope karma smacks them in the face real soon.
a while back we had a string of young guys leaving there gym bags with wallets in lockers at my gym only to finish their workouts to find the wallets stolen. yeah it's dumb to use a locker for this purpose without a lock and I'd like to think I was smart enough to not ever do this, but still can you imagine walking into the locker room to find a mofo digging thru your gym bag. I'd like to think the Christian in me would shine , however I fear I'd choose to take that one year probation to knock a thief smack out.

Damn that sucks man I'm sorry to hear that. And it sucks you had to switch gyms, golds is my favorite.
The golds down here is more like a night club and a social place. i found a place thats real old school that I think I'm gonna like a little better and its less than half the price of golds.
i know that feel. Losing ID sucks, lost my wallet in Mexico last year, that was not fun.
That's even worse than me because you cant even get back into the country. but replacing all that shit in tx is a nightmare.
