Ptsd/what feels right.

ad

First off. Shout out to the guys here who have expanded and strengthened my aas experience. Your all awesome. Second, shout out to all the respectful noobs who take their advice to the most precious muscle you have beating in your rib cage. You're keeping aas relatively out of the eyes of those who would press harder to keep our God given right to choose for our selfs our own path for our body's. (Caugh dea caugh*) keep it safe. We respect you for keeping us protected. Last but certainly not least, big shout out to the trolls who flame me for no reason. Some of you are really smart and I use some of what you say in other forums. The shit you mother fucks say crack me up so hard. I love it. Keeps me sharp.
Please bare with the way I communicate. It is impossible for me to think linearly and id submit you all think holographicly as I do. For example, if my thoughts were my house that I wanted to show you, id explore what ever room in what ever order but by the end of the tour, you'd know what my house looks like. You'll understand what I'm trying to express.
This post isn't about wisdom but sharing a Tad of my experience from my perspective and how ptsd relates to my routine/anti-routine

I struggle with focus in the gym because of ptsd and I don't adhear to leg day, back day, arm day, etc.
I go in the gym with light (for me) weights @ high sets as I listen to my body. I also do several "feeder" work out after the gym to pump out lactic acid so I'm not as sore. So pleas know that in mycase, I sometime do have to jot down what I did last because the part I worked the day before isn't killing me. But generally I can feel the part I need to work.
This isn't something new and for me it works. I have several friends to who adhear strictly to sets and reps. I pump the muscle as full of blood as possible till it Burns and hurts and and Burns and hurts. I imagine my self chugging concrete to harden my resolve to tough what feels like never ending reps. Again, I can time this or feel my desired level of blissful agony. Lol.
By all means do what works for you. I'm just sharing what was on my mind at the moment after some one was trying to convince me their protein was better then mine. (I use protowhey) I basicly told him to walk into any gnc, close his eyes and pick one off the shelf. Its all the same shit. I prefer predigested and micronised so I can take less volume per dose. That's the only reason why. And that's only if I havnt eaten all I was supposed to. Food is king. Id rather spend 1000 bucks in food and 200 in gear then the other way around. But what do I know. I have ptsd.
I get shit like this all the time, guys trying to convert me to their workout religion they subscribe to. I don't give a shit like sittn down pissn.
I have non combat ptsd and recommend anyone who has any form of ptsd to research "emdr" therapy. Frank Zane and Arnold used several guided hypnosis and self hypnosis. I only bring this up because they recognized the mental game they HAD to employ and look see?..... they were hypnotized for success. Haha. You probably don't need this but there are sveral self help/self hypnosis mp3s available in piratebay. I'm not advocating intellectual theft but I'm a bad man who likes bad things. If anything is worth taking, its knowledge. Or some hippy bullshit like that.
Well this turned into a rant though I don't need to tell you the benifits of sharing.

ive had ptsd for about a year, I intervened on a guy bashing his misses at work and got a pistol put down my throat, ive had ups and downs, and I had a patch where I was drinking like a fish, but at the end of the day as stated below I believe the gym got me back on track, it gave me a sense of achievement and pride, I got prescribed a ton of meds that I never took, but it did give me a get out off jail free card, if I didn't have ptsd I would be in the slammer for another 5-7 years rite now.

And listen to "angel dust " by faith no more. Great nlp based music which acts as affirmations. These songs are not songs. They are trances that can lead you to become sstronger. Mike Patton wrote the lyrics at personal affirmations. Awesome album.

In all seriousness...thank you all for your service!

Bro, all the same to you.

I had dealt with combat related PTSD and devoting myself to the gym, and arguably AAS has made my life better. the change was dramatic and positive. i believe the emotionally therapeutic benefits of AAS were the greatest catalyst to me recovering and reentering life fully

Brother, I completely agree and feel the same. I'm very very very passive and aas truly makes me more assertive when I would be walked over. Plus. Avoid all products like deodorant or stuff by axe and arm n hammer and lets see.... any thing that's says anything like "synthetic sents" because thaose are created from the derivatives of estrogens. Estrogen is an umbrella term I'm positive you know about this already, for several groups of estrogen. The biggest mimic of estrogen is lavender. Google for more info. I really like using toms deodorant and tooth paste. No fluoride and you can get as scentless. :). But I think most people know all this already, but just incase, you reminded me to mention it. Keep it going bud.

EMDR is brutal amd a miserable experience IMHO. If it worked for you, that's awesome. Reliving my trauma didn't help me one bit. The gym, and medication works for me. I have a slurry of resources for combat vets, if anyone needs some PM me.

Been loosing sleep. Will pm and will respond. Thanks for the input. I have been told it would be dangerous for me because of nature of my traumas at first and alot of work had to be done. Work I didn't think I could live though. I some times feel like a bonsai tree. Each injury and trauma inflicted determined my growth, yet some how I am beautiful. Strange, self aware bonsai tree basking in the sun and moonlight as if they were the same. Never sleeping and always reaching to root deeper reality.

The idea behind EMDR is to re-live your trauma, "in a safe place." I have heard people say it worked but personally it just ruined my day and set me back years of therapy.

Hopefully you have a rep with the DAV. http://www.dav.org/
They made dealing with the VA a piece of cake.

Another useful resource is the WWP http://www.woundedwarriorproject.org/

I've heard a lot of people talk a lot of shit about the VA. Personally I would be dead without them. I consider myself an expert on VA paperwork bullshit lol it took 2 years to get my claim through but I've been 100% P&T since 2006 and I'm more than willing to help a fellow vet with the pain in the ass process, it's worth it in the end.

I hate to hear it didn't work for you. It has really dampened any present emotions of trauma. Its very controversial because of what you just described. But going through it is demonstration of your strength and resolve to heal. It is very intense and my specialist has me set up through Skype and works with a useless therapist here. I'm not trying to be negitive but you know how state run therapy can be. But it is only there as a reassurance so that If I'm retrumatised as you were, some one could get to me personally.
Because of where she had me file the events in my mind files and the natural eye movements, (has more to do with the back of the eye) it has really desensitized the powerful emotion I had attatched to them. Some triggers are completely done.
Not knocking the VA. They took care of my grandfather and uncles. It wasn't until later I found their involvement in bigpharma exclusivity deals which really limits progress. For example there is one Ned they don't carry. If they did, it would take the place of five seperate meds you would have to play with for several months to get the same results. But obviously diminished. But again. I appreciate the things they do accomplish.

I have PTSD from 3 tours in afganastan 1 in Iraq.. When I feel it coming on I focus on what's most important to me in life.. Then I go to the gym to lift till I'm so physically exhausted I can't do another rep with out getting sick.. This helps me more than any therapy has.. Hope you are able to manage it

4 full tours and you come home listed as domestic trouble with several rights monitored and restricted. You should be coming home with full insurance for you and your family, given aristocratic status like in old India, Rome, Greece, great brittian. Etc. After spending time with others in therapy and especially hearing about what those tours were like you have my total respect for just coming out alive and managing the way you do.
I do much better these days after several methods of guilt control yoga nidra incoperated workouts. No dissociation. Never a second in the past or the future. Thanks man.

Ps. For noobs. My first three cycles were simple. 8 weeks of test e. Two weeks off pct. 8more weeks of test e, two more weeks of pct, then 8 weeks of test p and a full 4 week pct. This is called a slingshot method and it deserves more attention. Check it out if you're new or write me with any questions. Cycle history would be appreciated and lets me know you're serious about the knoledge/experience /success I've had with this method. During that year, I spend loads of time reading about other compounds and found that in time, the truth is self evident. You'll be able to week out the useful info from BULLCRAP! And you will be more confident dialing in doses as you add compounds determined by your goals. Don't get head fucked and make the mistake a stocking up on gear you don't need at the time. You will have less pressure to use it hastily. :-) enjoy the scenery. The average brain can only obsorb and digest about 7 things at a time. Aas is so intricate, you'll have years to enjoy new ideas and fundamentals. Aas is fun as fuck. Any one who dissagrees isn't my Bff.
But if you use them wrong, ....you're gunna have a bad time mmmmk?
These days I know I can listen to my body and read my blood work and know which compounds of various esters I should add or replace or drop. You'll get there too. Just respectfully chat these guys up. If ya get flamed...its a red flag. Read into what you're told. I promise it's to protect every one in the game.
