i think it actually depends on when you wake up. i think the times are close to this 3-5 hours after you wake up or 10-12 hours after you wake up.

I'd have to look for the study or article to back it up, but im feeling lazy.

I know there are studies (which you've listed above), but I think your body will adapt to the time you go to the gym. If you get used to going at night and do it over an extended period of time, your body will habituate to that time and it will work best for you.
I always struggle a little when I switch times, but once I get used to a time, I do great. I work out at night now and it works great for me. I finish my workout, come home and go to bed.

It all depends on the person. I go through phases depending on my sleep schedule. For a long time I would go to bed at like 3 wake up at 1 and train at 9 or 10pm and that's when I felt best enegey wise. Now that I'm on a more normal sleep schedule I like to train around 3 any later I start to wind down and feel tired.

Ideally in the mornings. I get tired and lazy as the day progresses.
