I've found my nemesis
I'm really a pretty easy going guy. But symmetry is a really big part of my life. Things are supposed to be parallel.
So there's this drop ceiling in the gym. And the benches are never parallel with it. It honestly drives me crazy. For a very long time, I just closed my eyes. But I can't help notice the crooked lines in the ceiling and how the bar is off as I'm coming up.
So I moved all the benches. It was great for about 6 weeks. Everything was all in perfect alignment and shit. Except for the joints in the rubber mat on the floor.
So some obsessive fucker keeps moving the benches back in line with the joint in the floor. ( fucking people....)
It's no one that works there. I've already talked to them.
So there's some dude out there with equal and opposite obsessions. But you don't look at the floor when you bench, so he's definitely the bad guy.

I hate the same exact thing. I must have ocd because I'm always making sure my truck is perfectly straight in the parking spot. Directly in the middle of the cars I'm parking next to. I get pissed and won't park next to someone even if it's a closer spot if the person next to me parks crooked. Damn mouth breathers I tell my kids when they ask why we have to park at the farthest spot from the store. Then I add an " Kids have I told you how much I hate people". They respond with yes and we all get a good laugh when we're making the 20 minute treck accross the parking lot. Lol
lol. It sucks doesn't it? I ignored it today. It's actually a pain in the ass to get it lined up perfectly. Move the end of the bench a quarter inch and it changes the relationship of the bar to the grids an inch. I'm going to try the whole letting shit go thing for a week or two..... Maybe.
I hate that as well, When the benches aren't lined up with the ceiling I feel very off kilter.
I built for a long time, so if things aren't in line it bugs me. And for years I kept my equipment in the unfinished side of the basement. If the bench got moved a bit, I'd catch myself adjusting my lift to keep the bar parallel with the floor joists.
We all have some type of baggage I guess. Lol
Bring a hammer drill, some bolts, and some hilti epoxy. Problem solved ;)
It may come to that. Lol. They're all stocked in the truck boxes as we speak.
For now I'm still gathering clues. I think it had to be someone in the flooring business at one time. I'm watching for a big guy with broken down knees that looks at the floor a lot.
