Giving karma and taking karma points & the ranking system.

Question for the community. Are Members with "reg" status allowed to give +1 karma points or do you have to be a level 1 or above to give karma points?
And are only MOD'S allowed to take them?
And how does a member achieve the rank of level 1?.... I see a lot of member with a lot less time in them me with higher rank. I'm not bitching. I'm just curious how the system works. I do realize I sometimes I take long breaks were im not active for a couple of months sometimes. But when I am active. I tend to be very active. I'm just curious if maybe a specific requirement exists or if it's just at admins descression?

Viking, does a thumbs down mean that someone negged you. If you thumbs down someone does that take away a karma point?
It will take points away once you reach 50 karma. Just like you can only give points after you reach 50. You can still thumbs up or down with less karma to show you like or disagree with post but it won't give or take away karma from poster until you are over 50 karma.

Lol. Thanks bro. You seem to be off to a great start. It's not to often you see someone who still has a "new" tag already with 11 karma points. I believe that had a lot to do with your thorough, detailed & honest profile description.
Cheers mate. Also, it seemed to shoot up after I posted & got 100+ replys on it.
Once you hit 50 karma then you reach level 1 I think and once you reach that level you will be able to +1.
Put up some good forum posts and you should be able to get some good karma.
