Anyone who hates the police, next time your house is being robbed, get into a car accident, jumped by several thugs, kid gets touched by a stranger, family member mauled by a drunk driver, have you identity stolen, car stolen, etc!!! Don't call the COPS! See how far you get on your own. Anyone who thinks that a good amount of Men & Women Don't BUST their ass trying to make a difference your nuts. lol i have gotten jumped, and robbed before. hell i been even attacked in my own house , with witnesses present. called the cops, nothing happened... so there u go. yea sure they might help u once in a while, but the way the system is set up in my county, they do more harm then good, definitely no respect for any that are here in this area

X2 / Had machette pulled on me 3-4 weeks ago, 2 witnessess.. cops did jack squat. guy just went to jail 4 days prior for shooting gun in city and threatning etc. Heard He walked on that! If you want something done u gotta do it yourself anymore. Only thing cops are gonna put hands on are things that make them money.... tickets and petty crimes etc.imo

AnonWell I dont exactly share your sentiments, but I will agree the hypocracy is unbelievable. You know how many times I sat in a local bar and seen various cops sit in there and get shitfaced then drive home, and they have the nerve to arrest people for that.
i have too man,but seen a case where feds where watching a dealer,busted the dealer to find state and local task force police were buying from him.i know this bc the guy set up the cops for the feds.and what happened to the dealer....prison!!! what happened to the cops....1 nothing,they wouldnt even show his name in the paper.cop#2drug task force cop,the guy who would bust ya for the same shit he is doing,he got a demotion back to street cop.so basically if your a cop its a get outta jail free card for breaking the law,when it should be worse for them.they should be held at a higher standard.
To me it is simple. All cops aren't hypocrites there are those who are corrupt and those who are not. Lumping all people into a one fits all category because of race, profession, and etc is just ignorance at its best. I completely believe many laws are BS and they were made to make others rich rather than for the good of the people. I also believe that there are laws that are good and help to keep society in balance. I agree that if you decide to be LE then you should be held to a higher standard.
If you want respect in today's society you have to earn it like anything else is life! If you dress a certain way and act a certain way you may be asking for trouble. In a high crime area the ones who look like the typical trouble makers will always get noticed.
well aint that the truth. the way i see it , u can dress and act as u want as long as u dont commit any crime. but thats not what happens, people get noticed for not doing anything, and some get police brutality worse than others

they do it to anyone, not just people who dress gangster (watever that is to you). I posted this because this has effected me. 2 different times I was with my friends walking down the street and the cops harrassed us for no reason. All of us were latino, But I look like a straight up whiteboy. The cops searched my friends and didnt say shit to me. They actually looked at me like I was crazy for hanging out with them. They didnt even ask me for my ID. None of us dress gangster. All of us come from upper middle class familys.

I used the ganster dress because most people can visualize it. Sagging jeans, baggy shirt, got the "f tha police" attitude written all over their faces. Anyone who's spent time watching people knows what I'm talking about. In my experiences, more often that not police have pretty good built in ass-hole detectors. I say that partially from looking back to when I was an ass-hole. Try this next time you get pulled over, or stopped by the police, be polite, "yes sir, no sir", hey maybe try to be more than polite, be NICE! Police are people, and they typically respond like all other people do. Most of the time they will still be pretty stand offish, but that's called professional demeanor. Remember all it takes is them making one mistake and it could mean their lives and they know this. Keep that in mind next time you have a run-in with them. I'm 99% sure your experience will be different.
why would it matter if I had a pot leaf as my avi. Like I said earlier, we were just walking down the street going to get some grub. None of us dress gangster, none of us look suspicious. Cops fucked with everyone except me cuz I look like a whiteboy. Im not an asshole and im a respectful person but I dont respect police that treat people like this. Most cops take advantage of people because they know that most people dont know there rights. Cops are supposed to serve and protect not harass and bring fear to the people.

I watched the video and I understand your upset but listen the truth is police profile all of the time and in some cases it helps while other times its WAY OUT OF LINE. But that being said like Cleyon said those running from the police are usually running for a reason. While some do get stopped because they are in a certain part of town or dressed a certain way it's just life now a days.

CleyonDuece, one thing that most people learn as they get older is that they were stupid when they were younger (myself included). I'm not saying that you're a moron, just that right now you are probably making decisions that you will look on later in life and shake your head at. That's natural and how we grow, however there is another way. There's a famouse quote that goes something like this, "A smart man learns from his mistakes, a wise man learns from the mistakes of others." That's why we typically associate wisdom with age, because as we get older we are more likely to stop believing we know everything, and more likely to look at the mistakes others are making and decide that we do not want to make them.

Look at my avitar, and you probably would guess (rightly) that I ride a motorcycle. So I'm sorry that I made a judgement based on your avatar, but can you see how that happened?
I harbor no hard feelings toward you, and in other threads I won't be applying the dicussion from this thread to discount your input on other subjects. Everclease, and others who I've had similar heated exchanges with know this is true. I passionately advocate my points, but I don't hold it againt people once we leave the subject being contested.
The only thing that I hope comes from this conversation is that maybe you will take a deeper look how other people see you. Not just online, but in the real world. A lot of younger people think that it's stupid for people to judge them or make assumptions about their character/personality/intelligence based on the way their appearence. However the truth is that people make those observations and connect the dots based on the things that they have experienced, directly or indirectly. The only person you have complete control over is yourself, so any time you look at a problem (be it with a boss, girlfriend, wife, police, or anyone else) you have to look at how you have affected the situation and see what YOU can do to correct it.
I've tried to do just that in this post. I read your comments, and read what I had written previously, and decided that the tone I conveyed wasn't helpful, and was actually alienating you from the conversation. So I've tried to moderate my tone, so that you can hopefully understand what I am saying more clearly.
I see your point but I think he was just saying for some of us that are about 10 years your senior in our late 30's or 40's we get it. Don't forget bud we have all been in your shoes at one point or another. As far as you weed leaf I do not care either way about weed I would rather have alcohol & Cigs be illegal than that. AS far as the cops stopping you learn your local and state laws and have a camera ready and you will find out that by reciting the laws they may just leave you alone. As I mentioned below, the NYC police have to deal with some real animals, but if you show them you are not an animal then most likely they wont treat you like one.
CleyonThat's something that most people forget, the police have to deal with the worst elements of society on a daily basis. They have to temper treating people respectfully with their very safety. A family friend was shot during a routine traffic stop, why? because the guy had a warrent out for his arrest for an unpaid ticket. The guy couldn't be bothered to get arrested (and most likely released the next morning) for a lousy ticket he didn't pay. So instead the police officer (who pulled him over for a broken tail light) leaves his wife a widow, and three kids without a Dad.
This "F the police" crap is the worst thing about this board. I got pulled over plenty of times when I was younger. Most of the time it was because I was doing something stupid (even if I didn't think so at the time), and only once completely un-porovoked. I also go pulled over going to visit an employee I had a couple of years ago. I went to see him and his wife after the birth of their first child, and driving into a heavily minority area I got pulled over. When I asked the officer what I did wrong he told me it was just suspicious having a white person in a nice car comming into this area at night. I told him what I was doing there, and where I was going, and he said have a good night. Got pulled over again leaving that night, because most of the time when they see a whitey in that neighborhood he's buying drugs.
We want less crime, but we don't want the police to use the tools available to them to stop it. We want fewer traffic accidents, but we get mad when the cops pull us over for driving stupid. Maybe people should look at what they are doing to have all these bad experiences with the police instead of blaming the police for their percieved grievences.

AnonIts a really tough topic. I love NYC and there a lot thats great about it, but I know the police there have to deal with animals. In this world of camera phones and small recording devices Im sure incidents like this will always pop up, but that doesnt mean all the police are like this. I want my freedoms, and have been harrased by police when I was young, it sucks, but at the same token being respectful goes a long way with them.
Being respectful does not go a long way with rogue cops. Which these portrayed in the video are. Only thing you can do when getting stopped by a cop either in car or on foot is not say a fucking word.
AnonWell you might be right about that, but the odds of getting the "rogue cop" is slim, however being disrespectful to even a normal cop will not likely work in your favor.
Ive had some run ins when I was younger, never like in the vid but I had a few locals who said specificly they were out to get me.
I've been dealing with cops since I'm 16. Know the drill by now. Keep my mouth shut hands up and put em on the back of the car. But when cops themselves are saying that they're being forced to do this and if they don't will suffer, it's pretty much saying a fair amount in my eyes.
