Fitting into clothing

ad

So I can't be the only one having this problem. I went on my bulk and my shirts were still comfortable now I can barely stretch them over me. I was wearing large hit first cycle started wearing xl now the xl fits around me its just the sleeves and the shoulders. Im basically loosing circulation in my arms.
I mean do I go straight redneck and go sleeveless do I buy 2xl which is going to be huge. I don't know what really to do for me to find a shirt that fits properly is damn near impossible now. Either its just too long or the shoulders and sleeves are cutting off the circulation. Someone has to know a brand or maybe do I look for a big and tall.
This is a silly post but its true I don't want to look like the guy who works out and wears a shmedium so everyone can see his build with his skin tight girl shirt. I need to know what you guys wear?

The Levi's 541's are pretty good.

Hotbodz.com has dress shirts and stuff for guys like us. http://www.hotbodz.com

There are a few others out there as well that are good.

I don't know how accurate it is but this is how a size chart should be

SIZE CHART:
MEDUIM (150-170lbs) = M
LARGE (170-190lbs) = L
XLARGE (190-215lbs) = XL
2XLARGE (215-245lbs) = XXL
3XLARGE (250-275lb) = XXXL
4XLARGE (270lb+) = XXXXL

Pale's picture

Most of the xxl I have ordered fit very well. I am 235-242. I wish they would make more just plain looking shirts instead of al the loud shit tho, lol. You watch how fast they go through stock of plain white and black, lol

I appreciate the link im going to check it out

Duluth Trading Company

Great quality and clothes that are designed for the "burly" man. They add a gusset to the cratch and under arms to allow full range of motion v. having to go up an extra size and look like you're wearing a tent.

Also, longer sleeve and leg lengths, larger buttons (for those hgh/Dbol swollen fingers), reinforced seams, knees, cuffs, etc.
Try their Bullpen underwear and you'll never go back to wearing anything else.

Gettingbig's picture

I've seen their ads with the plumber butt fix (extra long shirt tails). I just assumed it was all work clothing.
If they have polos and button ups I will look into it
Thanks

Greg's picture

They have business casual as well, I'm not sure about formal underwear...

Polo shirt. XX The wife brings the waist in. Lee Carpenter jeans. Shoes Sperry topsiders, and Coach penny loafers. I train in topsiders. As far as the Coach shoes don't knock em till you try em. Ditto for there wallets. Lands end has the best quality t shirts.

Shit you can't knck coach everything they make is really good quality costs alot but is good shit.
Lands end
I will look into this name i honestly know nothing about them but definitely will look into it.
Thanks for the advise brother

Gettingbig's picture

I will always love hanes its quality stuff especially for a not so rich at all guy like me.
But you know like you said for meeting and what not you have to step it up a bit sometimes thats the issues im having the polos and button ups.

SenseiMiagi's picture

The struggle is real. Either too tight in arms and chest, or too loose in gut. Levi athletic cut works for me currently for jeans. Theyre a bit stretchy.

Gettingbig's picture

Jeans seem to be easier to find. Its a nice polo or especially a button up i can't find a button up that will fit me anywhere and I've tried on a ton.

The struggle is real lol

daksmack's picture

Every clothing line these days is made for the little man. It's crazy because America is fat so it doesn't add up... I can't order online because nothing is actually true to what it says, every brand is different. I have to go in, try it on. Couple of brands that work for me if this helps. I'm 6'0 230 lbs to give you an idea what works for me.

Jeans:
Gap: loose fit
Levis: boot cut
Work jeans/pants:
5.11 tactical
Blackhawk tactical pants, these are my favorite they stretch around the waist, really comfortable is your ass/legs are big.

Polos/shirts:
5.11 makes a good fit for Polos
Thommy Bahama
Nike golf Polos, expensive but last awhile

Love 5.11 tacticals. Super comfortable and plenty of pockets. Practical clip pockets for the gun enthusiast.

daksmack's picture

Have you tried the Blackhawk brand, their better in my opinion and last longer. Check em out if you get a chance.

Carrying clips is passé, it's all about white vans and knives. You ain't a man until you hit a deer with your van and slit its throat.

...What? where'd you think I was going with this?

daksmack's picture

Only if you finish it off by skinning it in front of the trailer park to show everyone your the man. Hate having to clean the blood off the front of the white van, and sometimes the smell gets into the vent system!

The polo shirts are really hard for me to find a decent fit.
Especially button ups
I keep having an issue with the shoulder and arms.
I enjoy wearing golf polos because its hot as hell near me so its almost impossible to wear a cotton polo. I haven't worn nike but being a sports line maybe they take into consideration that everyone isn't just big around the belly.
I also enjoy the golf polos because they have a little stretch to them that helps.
Thanks im going to look into more sports brands.

I wanted to add it also has to be harder for you the extra couple of inches help with the length on bigger sizes but 230 your definitely having the same issues I am.
I imagine you carry almost all 230 up top right around the chest and shoulders.

daksmack's picture

My arms are usually the issue. Then yes, I hate the shirts that pull up around the shoulders and it looks like your trying to bust out around the arms. I get funny looks and I am like bitch this is an XXL! lol.

This will always be a continued issue, because we aint getting smaller right? lol

I hope not its definitely not my goal to get smaller lol

BrolicBruce's picture

Eddie bauer brother... they have all sizes in slim fit and they have tall... so I currently wear a xl tall slim fit. They also offer the legend wash line which just a bunch of tees in all colors.

Gettingbig's picture

Really
I will look into Eddie Bauer I recognize the name but haven't really seen much of there clothing

333's picture

Yes exactly what you said I wear a large tall slim fit as my traps and delts get bigger normal shirts turn into belly shirts and if I go xl it's not much longer but the sleeves are crazy wide huge neck and I'm drowning in it not comfortable at all I use American eagle plain tees I'll have to look up Eddie Bauer that's for the new shirt place name it's hard finding comfortable fitting clothing

foutjes's picture

I'm small but for in the gym: fitness brands like golds gym and so do they not make it fit better?
Outside the gym idk would look into some designer clothes and break the bank :x

Gettingbig's picture

In the gym and when I workout no problem just a tank and at home workout just shorts.

Outside of the gym I want to look good but I don't like wearing those skin tight shirts i just am looking for a normal fit but big shoulders chest and arms equal either a long shirt almost to my knees or a shirt thats just squeezing me up top and round and flowing in the wind on the bottom.
In America its horrible the clothing is cut to fit fat people or really thin. You just don't see a normal t shirt for a guy who is big on top but thin at the waist it just doesn't exist

Masscheese638's picture

Check out henleys on eBay. Little more room around the neck and chest. I get mine preowned $8-$10. If they don't workout you not out a lot

Gettingbig's picture

Henleys I will look into it thanks for the information brother

Gettingbig's picture

This is why I said I might just go straight redneck and just cut off all my sleeves lol

333's picture

Sleeveless is almost all I wear in summer time really nice on the golf course once your away from the club house

wanted's picture

Shirtless. Show off the progress

Gettingbig's picture

Every chance I get lol

Gettingbig's picture

These are what caused me to write this xl actual ralph Lauren polo shirt damn thing was so tight and it isn't the only shirt that has been doing this

Sam I Am's picture

Buy a bigger size and was on cold.

Collars are one of the worst for me. If a shirt is anywhere near the right size, the collar still chokes me. If I can button the collar the shirt was made for someone that doesn't have my build and I feel like the same designer that made parachute pants tailored my shirt for me

Gettingbig's picture

This is it if it fits me up top its huge below

tone210's picture

I have same problem 2xl are tight on me. 2xl shirts look like a damn dress. I went to a shirt store and found some t shirts that are 2xl that that arent to long. Brand is alstyle classic fit so collars do not stretch. Most of time i wear 3xl to gym i just fold it under my weight lifting belt to make it shorter.

Gettingbig's picture

See this is what I need to find i just haven't been able to come across anything like this yet

Cochise's picture

Find xl that run large that might help. And I found buying shirts online is a gamble on if the size runs small or large-

Gettingbig's picture

I've been looking for different brands with more room in the shoulders and arms

shiva4's picture

Yeah, I'm sure many members struggle with the shoulder and sleeve areas. It seems when I go up sizes, its just the belly area that gets bigger, not the shoulders and sleeves. I guess that the way things go these days. MERICA!

Gettingbig's picture

Couldn't have been said better

Who has arms that small?
Even if you don't workout alot of brands seem way to tight
