+ 1 Favorite Gym Music?

ad

Alright lads, we all know how effective stimulants are in the gym, but there is one that is the most important. Proper music.

What do you prefer to listen to? Favorite songs? Podcasts? Listening only to whatever’s on the gym speakers like a psycho?

I personally really enjoy listening to Nine Inch Nails while lifting for a mix of depression and motivation.

Most metalcore gets me pretty hyped up, or sub genres of metalcore. Basically any song by Darkest hour is prime lifting music and will get me fired up.

Also, haste the day, as I lay dying. Miss May I, killswich, early Norma Jean, early underoath with Dallas. Also like alot of post hardcore stuff from the early to late 2000s.

Music I listen to when lifting I hardly ever listen to at other times. If it’s raw, makes me feel like I can rip someone’s head off and never give up it’s on full blast. Grime, jungle, certain hip hop. Big bass and angry lyrics does it for me.

Trisolaris's picture

Sort of the same way. When lifting I prefer some metal or rock, then any other time of day I’m listening to some calm music, typically folk

RobertB80's picture

Metal and rock are very popular round these parts, it’s not my thing although I see the appeal for lifting. Similar that we both prefer more chilled stuff outside the gym

I actually asked this a few months ago and got all sorts of, IMO, crazy answers. Someone said they liked to lift to classical composers.

A day to remember
Slipknot
Slaughter to prevail
Trivium
Sevendust
Set it off
Falling in reverse
Mushroomhead
A killers confession
Ice nine kills
Architects
Electric Callboy

Tbh I haven’t listened to much negative xp besides the Scott pilgrim song but there is something uniquely attractive about the roughness of his music

Have you listened to John Jewitt from J3U? He is one of fhe most knowledgeable guys out there on PEDs and lifting/nutrition.

Hmmm, I’ll have to add some NIN to my playlist. I haven’t listen to them in a while.

I usually listen to rap/hip hop to get me pumped.

Sometimes I just do a YouTube video, Jeff Nippard or Dr. Mike.
