Anyone ever been diagnosed with this ? It’s not in my family so I’m wondering if steroids can cause this issue.

I've read some things about Telmisartan, saying how it can help prevent left ventricular hypertrophy (and even reverse it i think)... anyone has deeper knowledge about this? Sounds like a good thing for heart health in general, its mainly used to reduce BP

I take 80mg telmisartan every day. I have bp right aroun 120/80 and feel great, even during blasting. If you are on AAS, you need to be protecting your heart and yes, telmisartan can REVERSE LVH. My long term care stack: Telmisartan 80mg, Rosouvastatin 10mg and Ezetimibe 10mg. Every day.
AirborneGruntSorry to hear this but hang in there. Prayers out to you brother
Molinin302I'd watch any anabolics, and a clean diet is going to be your friend. When any blood vessels become restricted like this, those areas are a haven for plaque buildup. You'll get through it buddy, just don't be afraid to ask your physician any and all questions. Best wishes
I have heard of many stories of people getting enlarged and thickened hearts just from lots of intense training without steroids, as effectively it is still a muscle and you are working it, making it bigger and stronger as it adapts the same way any muscle in the body would. Then if you add in gear such as simple testosterone it aids in building it bigger the same as it does a bicep. Unfortunately there isn't really much you can do about it, apart from stay away from steroids. HGH is one of the main antagonists of organs enlarging within the body when you run it - Hence the name 'Growth Hormone' because it enlarges and grows everything when it is present. So no - I highly doubt HGH would help out in this scenario other than make things much worse.
RustyhookerEnlarged is common in powerlifting, heavy weight lifting etc. Thickening can be caused by gear, yes. Arnold had repsir surgery and recovrred fine....as example. Heavy motions give momentary spikes in bp...imagine squeezing a baloon. Breathing properly during lifts helps. But also picture your lungs full of air as you press/pull heavy and very lil room for movement. Again...balloon.
Twisting? Id ask the dr if the added weight is pulling on the ligament that holds the heart in place causing a twist.
Whats your dr doing for the condition? Surgery?
It’s actually called a tortuous aorta. He said right now nothing needs to be done but at some point they may need to add a tube the would be a straight passage for blood instead o the S shaped I have now. It can cause high BP
RustyhookerThe stent is common. Friends had it done via the artery in thigh. He did an overnight and went home to recover. Sounds like youre researching, very cool!
Yeah I been reading up on it. I was also looking to see if gh could shrink the enlargement. Not that I would self medicate nut just curious.
TricepatopsLike RH said GH cause stuff to grow so it would not help repair or shrink it. You could have just been born with this condition. Or it can be attributed to other things. But I wish you luck and the best of health.
RustyhookerI would assume gh as a repair aid that shrinking would not be possible. Gigantism is a side of gh being overly produced.
Thanks Rusty!
