Crazy Uber or Lyft experience

Yesterday i called a lyft to go get my daughter from school. The driver brings his wife which was weird. We are on the way to my daughters school and he gets pulled over. I see him grab something and stash is in his wifes purse. Cop walks up i undo my seat belt and begin to exit the car. Cops says get back in before i taser you lol. He took my license and gave me a ticket for no seat belt. The driver's license was suspended and they searched the car and found drugs in the wifes purse. Car was told they were arrested and i had to jog to get my daughter LMAO

Was the car told why it was getting arrested? I'm concerned that its rights were violated.
