Blender

ad

Right fellas.. and ladies. My trusty blender went pop last week while blending up one of my signature 'growmore protein filled smoothies' and I've been sweating buckets trying to choose a new one.

My current top pick is a USA made Ninja 1,200 watt absolute beast of a blender. Retailing at £75 with a 1 year warranty.

It will be used multiple times a day. It's got to be sturdy and well build.. be able to blend ice and frozen fruit into a smooth consistently and do this for without burning the motor out.

Help me out, what are all you blending with?

GrowMore's picture

All day every day

I picked up a vitamix stainless steel (I think it's a vitamix and the stainless steel Waring) from a juice shop which was going out of business. 2HP blends everything really smooth. Been 2 years but still working like a beast.

GrowMore's picture

They’re definitely monsters! I couldn’t seen they were worth the extra cash compared to the ninja however

I’ve been using a nutra bullet for years. I like that I can a few different shakes quickly in different cups. I put lids on the cups and ready to go in the cooler. Put them in the dishwasher at night and ready for the next day.

The ninja as pretty much the same just larger. Very happy with it.

My mom got me the rocket extract pro from Bella and it’s a beast. Pretty impressive considering the cost. I’m sure the ninja is better tho, but I haven’t used it.

To be fair I only use it once a day.

EDIT: I take it back. I just read the reviews on Amazon and evidently I don’t put this thing thru the ringer like some do. The ones that do say it doesn’t last long.

So I was of zero help.

GrowMore's picture

Thanks for stopping by anyways bro. If you’re not cramming the thing with 100grams of whey protein and 6 gallons of full fat milk a day you’re bit trying hard enough!

I had a 1200w ninja and it lasted many years before I left it behind and moved overseas(europe). I would make a full blender every single day. Sometimes more than once a day. My green smoothies made with tons of frozen fruits and veggies that's hard on the blender. Not a single problem. And ebay is full of replacements. Vitamix is the best, but not needed for a home. They're commercial. Paying 5x is just retarded. Great choice and def bang for your buck. They take a beating. Can't tell you about others. Only had that one and it was the most expensive one I've bought.

GrowMore's picture

I agree mate, I’ve never been happier with my purchase.

Big blenders are a pain in the A$$ to clean in my opinion.
I do like the Ninja blender though, serious blades!

GrowMore's picture

Got to be careful cleaning them as I’ve cut myself a number of times in them!

vitamix ..... cheap blenders always break

GrowMore's picture

The ninja comes highly recommended for its longevity

Ninja Blender....nuff said. I have the large one that I use weekly for various things and the smaller one that I use daily for protein shakes. Both get a lot of use and I have never had an issue with either

GrowMore's picture

Using it daily for frozen fruit and it blends like there’s no tomorrow. 100% happy

I use cheap blenders. I travel a ton and the smaller ones work best for me.
Ive had a few Magic Bullets and they were great but quit working 2-3 yrs use.

You know you are using the fck out of blender when it goes " pop" Great to see you Grow enjoy your blender

GrowMore's picture

My man. I'll pm you when home!

I have had my Ninja for three years now and will never use anything else. That sucker will puree raw brown rice so fine that you can mix it in water and drink it in under 30 seconds

...puree raw brown rice so fine that you can mix it in water and drink it in under 30 seconds

Just make sure you don't puree 3 cups of rice and drink it down in 30 seconds and have it expand to 12 cups of rice, bursting your gut open like a scene from Alien... with you lying dead at the foot of the gyms door... like a sparrow after a wedding.

This is very sad to say, but Ive never owned a really decent blender!
I am gonna check these Ninjas out, they sound great

Great thread

Possibilities are endless. My personal favourite is;

Almond milk, 1 or 2 scoop of whey protein chocolate or vanilla, squeeze of local honey, frozen berries, 3 scoops of Greek yogurt.

Blender it tastes like paradise and full of energy to start your day.

Keepmovingforward's picture

Add a little turmeric root and ginger root in there and it will help any inflammation and give you a little energy boost.

GrowMore's picture

Great add mate. I'll be buying some next time I take a flex to the shop!

giardap's picture

Almond milk bought lol
tumeric and ginger en route!

Hello Sir,

Ninja blender is a monster, this thing will blend everything even stones lol

Regards

GrowMore's picture

This is what I wanted to hear!

Ordered!!

Immortaltech's picture

is it glass or plastic? don't buy plastic ones

GrowMore's picture

Plastic I believe why?

Immortaltech's picture

Plastic may stink if you leave it unwashed for a while, i know this because sometimes i'm too lazy to wash it after using it leaves a terrible smell, if using plastic when crushing ice it may scratch the plastic and it will absorb food oddor, glass wont..

GYM SUPPS's picture

Great Sir, do not try to blend stones though lol
Everything else is fine

GrowMore's picture

Haha! I'll take them out!

I'm with vhman, vitamix is the way to go. It's hard to accept spending that kind of money on a blender, I get it. Once you do though, you wont look back. The things will last so long that it will save you money long term anyways.

GrowMore's picture

It looks like a solid machine. A lot of good reviews for the ninja longevity and for a lot less!

vhman's picture

There is only one blender that will last and that’s a Vitamix. Had one for almost ten years and still as good as new.
Used to go through blenders almost yearly until I got my Vitamix. They’re expensive but you get your money’s worh.

GrowMore's picture

X4 the price though! I've watched a lot comparison videos and the vitamix is definitely the better machine however I think the ninja would suit my needs, and for a big saving..

.. motor burns out after 1 1/2 ha

GrowMore's picture

Can't wait to be retired and have the time to create over the top things like this!

Ninja auto IQ is my current blender. Haven't had any issues. I like that ninja makes stainless steel shaker cups you can attach the blender head too.

GrowMore's picture

I'll look into these. It seems with many blenders you cannot buy separate but the ninja you can which makes it more attractive

333's picture

I got the 1000w ninja 3 years ago and still have original blades and it's still like new me and my wife use it daily at different times I remember paying 200 USD for mine though

GrowMore's picture

I hope they haven't lowered the quality as well as the price!

Makwa's picture

Got one of those a couple years back and still grinding out perfect smoothies.

GrowMore's picture

Thanks Mak. Did you go for the 1,200w or the 1,500w?

Makwa's picture

I got a 1500w. Bigger is better.
