I wish I would have taken my bicep tendon injury seriously from the start. I had trouble moving my wrist from side to side for several months and although I knew something was wrong I disregarded the issue. Finally, I heard it pop 5-6 times and my bicep jumped up closer to my shoulder instantly. Major bruising the next day over the entire arm. Real nasty stuff right there. $10,000, one endo button, and a year later its all good. But it's the down time that really beats you up.
update i went to the doc got an MRI and i have a small tear at the top of my bicep tendon, i asked her for prednisone and she busted out laughing and gave me Nabumetone 500mg and 8 weeks of therapy im not even taking that bs or going to therapy. i think i dont even need anti inflammatory drugs cuz its torn not inflamed right ? 8 weeks off from work just chilling at home my bicep tendon will heal by itself
I am definitely not a Doc but I do know that the tear itself can cause inflammation. That tear sucks. It is definitely going to need some rest to repair itself. I would probably listen to the Doc. Many times reducing the inflammation that may be present because of the tear can help to speed up the healing process.
hey bros thanks for the input! im going to ask my doc if he can prescribe me prednisone then ill get a arm sling and hopefully it will heal asap i should of did this along time ago smh
I've had a lot of luck combating tendinitis with the advice from a sports medicine/chiropractor told me. For strengthening and healing tendons you have to work on the negative part or the lift. Use lighter weights and go with higher repetitions, sets of 15 to 20. You have to do both arms though, whatever you do for one side of the body you must do for the other side as well. I've healed tennis elbow and bicep tendinitis doing this several times a week. Best of luck to you
Ace VenturaGet some deep tissue massage. That shit'll work itself out.
I had an inflammed bicep tendon and the only way I could get it to calm down was to get some prednisone and stop lifting for a week. It was all better after that and I could go back to my normal routine. Your bicep tendon attaches to the front of your shoulder that is why you feel it there.
