Has anyone here had Bells Palsy in the past? Basically the nerve that controls your facial muscles on one side of your face is inflamed and you lose the ability to move that side of your face (partial paralysis). Usually heals itself in a few months. In rare cases it stays for year.
Noone knows what causes this.. Docs say 80% of people get it after they have had some sort of virus (flu, respiratory virus, herpes, stomach virus etc..)
Anyway just wondering how long it took for you to get back to normal, and if you were on Test at the time or any gear when you were diagnosed?
Weird question I know, but I was just diagnosed with a really mild form (crooked smile, loss of taste, cant raise eyebrow, and cant fully shut eye lid (all on left side))

It should improve on its own. The healing time is variable. It could be days to months from person to person. Sometimes a course of prednisone can speed the progress. I also would add is that if you live in an area that Lyme disease Is prevalent or an outdoors type person I would recommend a Lyme titter. Bells sometimes is related to undiagnosed Lyme disease.
a guy i worked with had it..same thing just happened out of nowhere..craziest thing i ever saw..looked like he had a stroak.. if i remember correctly it took about 8 weeks for it to go back to normal.. good luck bro
guy I severed with had a 3 month go of it , bad news, the brothers side of his face looked paralyzed, made simple things like eating, talking a challenge. I only hope they haven't pulled you from flight status amigo...
It happened to my grandfather twice. First time was when he was probably late 70s early 80s and it went back to normal after a few months. Second time happened when he was probably 85ish and he's had it for a few years now and it hasn't gone back yet. Not sure if it's gonna this time he's like 88 now. Hopefully it will. But that's the only person I know personally.

yeah they don't know what causes it. It all has to do with the nerve located within your skull. its really strange. Its getting hard for me to eat, and I look weird when I talk. I hope to God this goes away within a month. its been about 6 days so far, and its gotten a bit worse each day. The worst part is the loss of taste. I cant taste a little bit on the right side of my tongue but my left side is shot.
ray3801All you can do is roll with it my man...when my fiance had it she would look fairly normal until she smiled. She had some great friends that would take her out all the time and make her laugh....seems counterproductive but once she stopped stressing about her appearance things got better every day. Hope you have a speedy recovery bud!
Friend of mine got it in high school from getting slammed on his face in wrestling. Took like 5 months to get back to 100% normal. Docs actually didn't think it would ever get back to normal but luckily they were wrong. He's perfectly fine now.
