AAS leading to hard drugs?

ad

So the other day I was working out with my nephew giving him some pointers and he brought along his new muscle mag (I remember those days) and I was looking through it and came across an article that states aas users were more likely to use street drugs like cocaine than non aas users. This I found interesting because one.of my first years in college I wrote a paper on aas for an athletic training course and almost all my research said that steroid users had a tendancy to live cleaner lives than people not taking steroids. Users reportedly did no hard drugs and most aas users didnt even smoke or drink (I don't smoke and abstain from alcohol also) so i found it interesting that there was such different views in these studies so i came to u guys (the experts) to see what u think. Do people in your workout group or aas group lean more towards substance abuse or do they live a clean lifestyle.

I did every thing I got my hands on and the worst part is I was selling dope so I had It all the time and was doing it for free. now I just eat clean and drink maybe once a year.

worked the opposite for me. I did shit when I was a kid and wont ever do that again. (not a lot but a week end type type thing)
never did excessive amounts. But now I dont drink (or rather I can't drink at all... bad stomach). and thats about it.

If your stupid enough to be doing cocaine.. then you need to seek rehab..

I know a few people who were into hard drugs, and once they started using aas all that ceased, I'd have to say no, I personally don't know anyone that used aas and it led them to using harder drugs

When I smoked weed I wouldn't drink because it killed the buzz...

With that line of thought; why the hell would I do anything that would kill my gains on AAS?! -what a waste of time and money.

Hell, nowadays I see salt and sugar as harmful substances.

Agreed, theres time women make jokes about the way i eat saying one piece of cake can't hurt or to much salt can't hurt, my reslonse....if its so healthy then why do u have a muffin top and I have abs. BAM!

Already been there done that. Cleaned up and started working out, then started aas. I do still go out and drink too much a couple days a week, but finally quit smoking and haven't touched one since early last spring. Haven't gone out looking for anything else in years. As to whether or not if it's put in front of me would I? I don't know, I'd like to say I wouldn't. My history consists of weed, ecstasy, coke, meth, acid, shrooms, perks, oc's, adderrol, ummmmm that might be it. Haven't touched any of the above in at least a couple of years. My use of aas I think would lead me to stay away from all of the above. I'd say the article is bullshit.

im too much of a bitch to try any of those hard drugs like cociane and heroin , just scared cuz addiction runs in the family

Clean needles are always a good choice! I can understand ex users comming to aas and living clean with them but idk where that article got its info cuz i don't see aas as a gateway drug either. But i guess there are always exceptions

I personally stay away from drugs because I'm worried it would hinder my gains Smile

i believe this is true. also my wife one day told somewhere on her psychology book mentioned that men with higher levels of test are more likely to use more drugs than others. i remember in one of my earlier cycles, on my peek weeks all i wanted to do was out drinking and wild'n out.

im an ex hard drug user, but i didnt start aas for a while after i went clean, usually people who use aas dont smoke and drink too much, or at least that how it should be

snuka2012's picture

Was the same way a long time ago. I thought once you start AAS you pretty much should be clean or become clean as you're already mucking around with your endo system and body, if you have some sense. My buddy is a BBer and hard drugs just doesn't seem compatible with the life style...but I guess everyone's different.

Lot's of ex hard drug users. Lots n lots of guys still smoke Pot but IMO cigarettes are way worse.

Clean. I don't smoke. Drink only on special occasions and in moderation. I stay away from all drugs. Have a clean diet, cook all my food. I guess it just depends....I've known guys that have took roids just bc they thought it was some "miracle drug" that would make them get huge and be cut up, and then continue to live a wreck less lifestyle. There are those that are completely ignorant, but overall I would lean more twords clean though. +1 good topic
