AAS and Recovery

I noticed that a lot of people who take aas are in recovery. AA or NA. How do people view this? Seeing that aas are technically prescribed drugs. Now I know from experience there is a big difference in cocaine and AAS. AAS if anything can bring a better quality of life and then cocaine can completely destroy your life. Personally I myself have became a more disciplined and responsible person since my aas journey. So why do people in recovery hide their use. You can clearly see who is on something. But when confronted. You will always get that they are all natural. I assume the hardcore AA people wouldn't see the AAS use acceptable. Any thoughts on this?

I don't believe that AAS should be an illegal drug. Although it CAN be mind and mood altering, is it addictive? No! The person using it should be responsible and doing it for the right reasons. Over all health and well being should be the ultimate goal. I see no problem with ppl in recovery using AAS. Now if they start getting into stimulants (fat burners/amphetamines) then they have a moral dillema
breakingfaceSteroids are my anti-drug. Since I fully embraced this lifestyle over a year ago I haven't self medicated with booze or pills. Not one sip or one pill. Ive always had low grade depression, which promoted an unhealthy relationship with drugs and alcohol. Since I started training, eating better, and cycling I havent had the least bit of interest in using.
That being said, everyone's different. My triggers may not be your triggers.
Ive been to meetings before where there are guys in recovery in phenomenal shape. Im willing to bet the majority are natural and using the pent up aggression that comes with quitting your drug of choice.
Over 8 yrs clean in NA.addicts are very judgemental,I was to myslef in this subject until i studied it.But if you look around people spend money on something say like cigarettes.They will spend there last dime on smokes instead of gas to get to work and it kills how many people a year yet its acceptable in NA.I go to meetings and dont share about AAS really because its nobodies business.My girl knows and she has 5 yrs clean and dosnt think anything about it.People ask all time if i use them haha hell no i say.Hardcore AA guys wont even let you share about drugs in there meetings it violates there traditions thats why we broke off and formed NA o not to mix the message.Im gonna friend request ya>
i find that it is more acceptable in AA than NA. AA being powerless of alcohol and NA being and mind OR mood altering substance. But lets be honest an addict can take anything to the extreme and abuse AAS just like they would a drug. so in theory to an addict it can be just as dangerous, but like all things in recovery its all about balance. But hey if you can be smart about your aas use in recovery and it helps you stay disiplined to the gym and recovery hell go for it!
