It takes some courage for a member to post a thread like this being this is a steroid forum and all. Respect to the OP. I don't post here much anymore but those who know me a little know I get get a lil too deep and fuck up the party mood sometimes. Well who cares I see a good chance to correlate some some ahit here.

I believe in prayer and the power of faith. Some may not, but that is neither here nor there. What it all boils down to is that its personal. It's individual. I've found prayer is like hitting the gym. Not everyone has the will to go every day. To open up their soul to insecurity and pain daily. To accept that maybe the man next to me is a better man or wiser man or more dedicated. That doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things for me.

Finding power in the ritual of prayer is similar to lifting. With each prayer or rep, with each failure we find the strength to try again. To not accept defeat takes practice and will and surrendering to the ritual. For some they are naturals at it and for others it takes time. I've always respected those who try and fail and try again. Those who accept their limitations and fight it with single minded will.
I've also learned to find a middle ground. To accept that I am better with both prayer and lifting in my life. I am also better when they are meant for my personal enhancement and not entirely as my personal substance. That may sound bad but I live in a world where there are many facets to personal growth and lifestyle. I've come to learn that prayer and lifting are big pieces of what makes me a better man but they soley aren't what makes me a good man.
Whatever it is that pushes us to be better I can dig it. I respect the real world and understand that for some it's faith in a higher power. For others it's self will and perseverance and others it's pure luck.
Either way I thought this thread was cool to see a the confidence and risk to post by the OP.
