waxing

ad

I have a newfound respect for all you ladies that wax. Yesterday, i got my back, chest and abs waxed and while the back wasn't so bad, holy crap the chest and abs were intense. i don't even want to imagine what a brazilian feels like /shudder
Question: what do y'all like to remove redness/bumps? This is my first time to get waxed and i have red bumps all over my stomach chest and traps. really the areas that hurt the worst are pretty inflamed. thanks!

There is a lotion call Calumet (or something like that... white bottle w/ blue lettering) and it works great. Also after waxing if you have someone to immediately rub down the area with a solid deodorant stick that will help. It has to be a solid stick like Degree or Arm/Hammer. Not the clear "gel" kind that contains alcohol.

But in all reality, why wax? You can go on sites like Groupon and find discounts for laser hair removal 6-8 sessions for $199-$249. Look for the ones that use the Lightsheer Duet laser. You will never regret it.

Tea tree oil. Can't believe the waxette didn't use it after you were done. Powerliftgirl likes me to get full Brazilia. You don't know pain until the hot wax hits the nuts, then it gets worse when the tearing takes place. It really only hurts real bad the first time or two then it gets easier. Shaving will give you ingrown hairs and they are no fun. Lucky I have some native Indian blood in me, hardly any body hair.

she did use tea tree something or other and then this rub that tingled a bit, probably some sort of exfoliant.

next time, if there is a next time, make them put powder on your skin so the wax doesn't stick to your skin. Also, they should have a wax that is for sensitive skin.. I'v honestly never had this issue from waxing but I would try a warm washcloth compress and smooth some witch hazel on the affected area.
