Testosterone for Women TRT

ad

Hello ladies, my wife is 50 years young and in very good health and shape. She is starting to get pre menopausal and a bit frustrated with the symptoms. We have looked into the Testosterone Pellets. My question is, I already have the Test Cyp and wanted to know the correct dosing protocol for Women's TRT. I have searched our forums with no real substance. She just got her bloods and her Estro is on target. I appreciate your advice.

Hey Rusty do us all a favor and close it. This was not meant for any of this, this has gotten so out of hand it has become ridiculous. I started the thread with all good intentions to ask a question and possibly start an intelligent debate, but that is not what happened. I started the thread and I am asking you to close it. Thank You and I hope you have a great New Year!

Wow, so after reading the cat fight below, felt like this might be of some benefit..there are multiple studies done involving trt and women..the reason there is not alot of solid answers in my opinion is because of the complexity of a female's hormone system..if men's system is a subway with different stops and trackd, we are airplanes without a navigation course. It takes multiple things to keep our balance. I believe docters know a lot and better be safe than sorry.. but are we not all doing a little self medicating on here?

Um, I'm sorry I don't understand what this means..not meaning to be negative if that's what your saying..just like to provide real info.. I definitely don't have anything else to add here.

SexWeightsProteinShakes's picture

I do not see anything negative from that response. What are you talking about lol?

sieno1's picture

Thank You Tigar, This is the type of educated response we were looking for.

I didn't read all the comments below just some... the most important thing here is to get labs done by your doctor.. I have been on 'therapy" for sometime now .. and cycling has had an impact on it .. that said, lack of estrogen and progesterone in menopausal and pre menopausal women is directly related to lack of libido etc.. I do know of women who have been prescribed testim ( a test gel) the main thing is to make sure everything is balanced and that means everything .. adding test to a problem that may not be a test issue may make things much more complicated in the long run.. so get labs done and consult a doctor

vhman's picture

Solid advice.

sieno1's picture

Thanx for your response GRRL Tests already done and working with a Doc. My whole research here was to find out if injecting test can be a replacement for Gel or pellets.

That's why I am here Brother!
And by the way Rusty,,you are doing a good job!

the fact that there are people co signing self prescribed trt below makes me sick , especially considering we're talking about a woman who's main acting hormone is not testosterone , testosterone is the main male sex hormone hence MAN.introducing a substance into their body that isn’t naturally found there. We are not doctors these issues need to be talked over with your wife's primary care physician. Just because one woman can cycle all year long with minimal to no sides doesn't mean every one can do it , these compounds effect everyone differently , for example two people can take the same mg of test and have wildly different responses to it , wildly different sides , one can have no sides , while the other has a ton, and with a woman we're talking deepening of the voice , enlarged clitoris , increase in body hair and facial hair , baldness , shrinkage of breast tissue, damage to their reproduction system ,infertility , the list is long and many of these effects are irreversible even if the drug use is discontinued as soon as the effects appear. So no I wouldn't suggest using it at all even a teeny tiny dose smfh.

littletigar24's picture

No offense meant..but hasn't your miss been on test?

MissTonyTulo's picture

well I'm glad to see you couldn't help joining the "cat fight" that you have read...its real mature of you to take a stab at woman who is on test as a competitor. I don't need my husband to speak for me on this matter. first off how is that relevant to the topic at all. I'm a competitor not looking for an antidote for TRT. oh and by the way I think its ridiculous of you to pull another person into the thread when they have specifically stayed out of it. It is absolutely none of your business what I run. I am a competitor and cycle on and off to make better gains. And I certainly did not start cycling with test as an "experiment" to cure something such as migraines or to replace hormones that I thought were being lost in my body. this is my lifestyle and part of how I make my living. the simple fact is this...women who are going through menopause typically need Hormone Replacement Therapy not TRT. when women go through menopause most of their side affects are due to the lack of ESTROGEN not testosterone. I have not entered this thread so far and hadn't planned to until you started talking out of your ass. My advice for this man and his wife are to consider all options and to consult their doctor if their is something that they would like to try. introducing male hormones into the female body in the hopes that it will bring estrogen levels back up is not ideal and not the best way to tackle this problem. I do not use steroids as an experiment and at least I know exactly what I'm getting into when I inject them and why I'm doing it. anyone who has seen my profile page or any of my pictures or any of my comments know that I compete in this and that this is a lifestyle for me I'm not on here to just take a little anavar and lose some body fat or some unwanted "baby weight." Now if you have a problem with a woman being on test as a competitor then I guess you are on the wrong site.

littletigar24's picture

I have no issue with you taking test or competing at all. In fact, I think it is awesome. I do however have an issue with your man claiming that test is not naturally occurring in a woman or that they should never put it into their bodies even in small amounts. Especially if that is exactly what someone close to him is doing. Which I pointed out to him. Not 'stabbing' at you. I actually pointed out that some women should be on test.

Yes, competing is extremely different from women experience premetopausal symptoms. And her husband is not suggesting she take anywhere even close to competitor doesage. But he is trying to relieve her symptoms, which are hormonal deficit related. Which has been confirmed by her docter.
This woman is not healthy and normal. She is suffering from symptoms that are affecting her day to day life. They have been recommended by a docter to take test pellets. So a docter is determining that is what her body needs is test. And your man is contesting that. Yes, that bugs me. And so I provided a medical article stating that it takes a balance of all three homones, test, estrogen and progesterone for a womans body to function normally. If correcting things that a member says that are medically inaccurate and providing proof in documented form is not supported by this site, then I don't know what is. Your husband has proof that test does good things for women when used correctly. It is sitting right beside him.

tonytulo's picture

Wrong and wrong again . The doctor said test pellets , this guy is looking for a co sign on an injectable period, if hes that concerned follow the doctor, i just dont like the fact that more often than not on this site people are giving advice to things they havent done themselves. Now , if someone came in here who is hormone deficient and is on therapy and chimed in that would be different. As i said before i damn well know a woman also needs test at a very small amount just as a man needs estrogen in a very small amount.

As i stated before the guy should follow his doctors orders not people who A. Havent gone on therapy B. Arent his wifes physician. C. The doctor recommended pellets and i said stick your fucking doctor not stray off and experiment with injectables or look for some advice from people who are doing things incorrectly themseleves. Period because that is very much so cosigning, so obviously you need to re read everything i have said in this post .

Just as we've had women who get in on conversations about using test who have never used it themselevs here. I said follow your physician just as numerous other credible members who have a track record of first hand knowledge came in here and said.

So no need to come stir the pot . Thank you.

Than when you say look next to me cause it does wonders , when my wife was on contest/competitor cycles she did not enjoy it, there was side effects also, so comparing her cycles to build a muscular physique for stage to HRT is oil and water.

My suggestion as well as multiple others here for this fellow and his wife are follow her doctors orders , not experiment with injectables and adding more variables to the problem at hand before he has even done what the doctor has suggested. His doctor did no suggest injectable testosteron which involves pinning and everything that follows he suggested pellets , so follow the doctor. Or should he before even doing the pellets like her doctor suggested , instead do an injectable steroid???

tonytulo's picture

Yes but my "miss" is a national competitor who cycles on and off to compete . She doesnt self medicate for "sex health" or "well being " nor does she stay on all year long for a hormone therapy type cycle. Two wildly different things , long term effects of of hormone therapy vs. Comp cycles are extremly different and there has been side effects.

I love how your response was one upped , this site is becoming less and less about true help and common sense and becoming more about popularity and argumentative people smh. Its a damn shame.

UgtaBkdNme's picture

.introducing a substance into their body that isn’t naturally found there.

I hate to tell you this but women do produce testosterone. Good rant though...

tonytulo's picture

yes insanely small amounts but go you , cosigning self induced testosterone replacement therapy in woman. There are rarely any trt done on women and even more rarer is testosterone used in their trt . but by all means go right ahead doctor ugtabkdnme.....

UgtaBkdNme's picture

You are cracking me up. No where in there did I encourage him to give his wife testosterone. I didn't climb on a soap box and yell at him like you did, but there's plenty of warning in there. Keep calling me Dr. though I like it.

tonytulo's picture

"If she wants to try it, I would use a teeny tiny dose of prop." wtf do you call that . I call in cosigning but if you cant admit your wrong by all means continue spewing shit advice that can potentially harm people. Last time a checked we weren't allowed to cosign self prescribed testosterone therapy treatment in men her where that has been practiced for many years with stacks of studies , let alone a woman where there hasn't been much study and prescribing testosterone treatment, the primary hormone to males to a female hasn't been studied really at all. you win have a good one with all your advice.

sieno1's picture

You know Tony you are ranting like your Estrogen might be a bit high,,,better have that checked!

vhman's picture

Seems like you don't like anything but people co-signing what you want to hear. If you don't like it, ignore it. Calling respected members out for giving solid advice is not what we're about here.

sieno1's picture

Not true at all Brother, just need opinions and not rants! I did not start this to hear what I wanted to hear, if you read all of the posts you would know this!

vhman's picture

you are ranting like your Estrogen might be a bit high,,,better have that checked

What's not true? You did call out a respected member for providing some common sense to this situation.

You're free to disagree with anyone and to take whatever asinine information you get. If you're going to call people out and make it personal, you'll get dinged for it.
Tony and girl provided solid advice and that was to get bloods, explore all possible causes, and to follow the doctors advice. That's safe and solid advice. You're also free to disregard it all as well. You won't be penalized for either choice, but you will for making things personal.

sieno1's picture

Ohh Boy, This has turned into a nightmare thank you all for your advise, we will bow out now. I have been here for quite a while and I guess I was wrong in considering my question.

vhman's picture

Throwing the baby out with the bathwater I see....

Look, not sure what you calling someone out has to do with the solid information you got, but that's me.

I know several women who have some sort of testosterone therapy at the 50+ age (some younger). All of them had complete physicals, bloods, etc. and now follow a doctors protocol. None have gone it on their own and guessed at it. People here (including myself) actually care about people's safety and that things are done correctly. This isn't personal and I hope that your girl follows doctor ordered protocols and go from there.

tonytulo's picture

lol funny guy. Not a rant just information. If you dont care than neither do I , good day.

UgtaBkdNme's picture

I call it telling him my experience with it. (prop over cyp is a better option IMHO) You can call it whatever you like.

vhman's picture

You gave advice for the person to try prop. That's co-signing, advising and encouraging. Not sure what else you would call it.

sieno1's picture

You need to lighten up ,,friend? Make you sick? We are working with a Doctor and have had recent blood tests as well. He recommended the Pellets. We do not tread here lightly. Just as a man needs Estrogen, Women need Testosterone. Why do you think I asked for input. Thank you for yours.

tonytulo's picture

than go with what your doctor recommends not with what people here recommend. When my primary care physician tells me to do something I don't go outside and pull random people for their opinion. Yes just as a man needs a very small amount of estrogen ( because if it gets out of whack blood pressure rises , gyno forms , they'll start to store fat around their hips, they'll break out all over , their test will no longer be as effective due to estro binding to it, now all that is irreversible even the gyno with surgery , let it go unchecked for very long and the high blood pressure will kill you , now with women 90% of their sides are irreversible as I mentioned above. I didn't say your idea made me sick , what makes me sick is the fact people do tread pretty lightly with their advice. I would consult with her endo and primary care period...

sieno1's picture

Well,,Friend, if you put blind faith in ANY Doctor without doing your own research, is very foolish. Last I will reply. Now that you have scared the pants off of us for asking valid questions. Have a good one!

tonytulo's picture

so asking on a forum , to people you don't even know is the answer lol. I don't put blind faith in anyone , and with proper research you would already know just about everything ive said. Not trying to scare anyone if facts scare you than im sorry to hear it. But if your worried about your blind faith in one doctors opinion than ask another doctor. Pretty simple to me. As well when I do research I make sure its from a credible source I don't ask others who dont have the proper credentials or background to answer them someone with a PHD before their name, id be researching risk vs. reward in studies when it came to my wife or my health , and the long term effects , the side effects , I wouldn't be looking for quick fixes or easy ways to do things. just my thought but clearly its a very adverse opinion.

aronl's picture

In fact androgen replacement study in women has been assessed quite a bit in several studies, most with cheesy names like the "aprodite" study or the "adore" study. Most studies describe improvement in sexual function and general well-being; but the study populations are not exactly similar and the questionaires to measure satisfaction and well-being were not standardized. As Ugta mentioned there are concerns with possible long term effects that are undefined. Please see this link for more information:

Depending on what symptoms she's having it might not help. (could even make it worse) It will likely make her feel a little better mood wise and increase her interest in sex a smidge. But there is no information on TRT for women, because that's not what doctors do in hormone therapy for women. Since there is no FDA approved TRT for women, there's not much information out there. There are a lot of places she could go to get real treatment.

If she wants to try it, I would use a teeny tiny dose of prop. I've pinned prop, it didn't do a whole lot, but if she is 50 I would think the sides would be higher because she is producing less estrogen so increasing her testosterone would seem counter productive. Women should always be leary of testosterone. Once the sides set in, they are not likely to go away.

Good luck

UgtaBkdNme's picture

Oh it was effective. I actually really like it, I just didn't want to encourage someone else to do it. By "it didn't do much" I meant sides, my only side has been increased peach fuzz on my cheek. When I use it I pin 10mg every other day. I've never ran it very long though, I ran it the first time just as an experiment to see if it would help my migraines and it did. I'm on it now because I can't workout at all and I'm worried about wasting.

sieno1's picture

I appreciate your replies! The only reason I even gave it a thought is that I know of 3 women in our circle that are going through that change of life, and there is a local Doc that has been doing the implant Testosterone pellets, the ladies swear by it.

UgtaBkdNme's picture

I've read about pellets/patches but those cases are under a doctors care. It's best not to try it alone. If you over do it, she'll be ruined.

sieno1's picture

Totally understood!!! One reason I am on my favorite site,,,for advise, shared knowledge and experience.

UgtaBkdNme's picture

Same here bro ;) I hope she feels better soon. If you get a good doctor there's no telling what she can get, Ive read quite a bit on HRT I'm only 33 but I'm planning ahead!

sieno1's picture

Thanx!! an educated Person is a healthy Person!!!
