L-tyrosine..Research your dosage according to bodyweight. L-Tyrosine has helped me get thru alot of different depression battles in my past.

After opiate abuse
After stopping ADHD meds
After steroid use.
This amino acid has helped me greatly in the past, to get my body's feel good receptors back to normal...

I have also read up on Black Cohosh and the effect it has on women. I use it as part of a tonic for my agitation. It can also be used for depression. But if u aren't eating the right kind of foods to boost your serrotonin it could be that simple. Ok enough from a guy. I would love to read more form the ladies. Sorry for prying in ur thread.

Cholesterol acts as a precursor to vital corticosteroids, hormones that help us deal with stress and protect the body against heart disease and cancer; and to the sex hormones like androgen, testosterone, estrogen and progesterone.
Cholesterol is a precursor to vitamin d a vital fat-soluble vitamin needed for healthy bones and nervous system, proper growth, mineral metabolism, muscle tone, insulin production, reproduction and immune system function
Cholesterol is needed for the proper function of serotonin receptors in the brain. Serotonin is the body's natural "feel good" chemical. Low cholesterol levels have been linked to aggressive and violent behavior, depression and suicidal tendencies.

I got all this info from "Nourishing Traditions" the cookbook that challenges politically correct nutrition and diet dictocrats. Written by Sally Fallon with Mary G. Enig, Ph.D
