+ 8 Been around a while
I’ve been lurking around here off and on since probably 2010. Never took the time to register and make an account or post. But have learned a lot from this place. I’ve used many, many sources on here over the years. Its amazing how things have changed since the mid 90’s.
Ive spent the last year re building my body and mind after hitting rock bottom mentally and physically after a tragic life event a few years ago. My 10 year old son passed away suddenly and I spent the next few years quickly becoming unraveled. An expensive, nightmare of a divorce, slowly killing my self with whiskey, cocaine and bad women. Just darkness and despair until I finally lost nearly everything but my life. My business and finances were wrecked. My health was horrible. I weighed nearly 270 lbs at 30% body fat. I’ve been sober 348 days as of today…after waking up in jail and facing legal consequences for a DUI, with nowhere to go and it seemed no where to turn, I finally decided that I had had enough. It was time to stop being a pussy. Time to face reality and start swinging back at life again. Time to get back in the fight. So, I did. Slowly. It’s been quite the journey and struggle. I stopped with the excuses. Stop lying to myself. Stopped feeling sorry for myself. The story is too long to even explain, but I’m now 51 years old. I’ve taken back my life. Regained my self discipline. My self respect. My dignity. My health. I’m now 205 lbs and 7% bf. Back in the gym and back at living life the best I can. The fight is never over until you quit swinging.
