Would you eat this? I sure as hell wouldn't.
So I'm working at a pizza shop. This dude who knows the owners comes in and helps himself to whatever he wants. He's a bodybuilder, like ridiculously huge, obviously extremely low bf. He was there the other night eating behind the counter. I glanced over to see what he's eating (usually salad and pizza). But this time I'm like, wtf is that? It's just a pink blob. Then it hits me, and I feel ill lol... I come over to the owner's wife and ask her "is he eating.." - "yes, he is. he does it all the time and makes me want to throw up".... "so it's raw? completely raw 1/2lb hamburger bun".
Is this unheard of? Heard of but not advised? Or just fuckin nasty? I eat raw eggs every day in my morning shake, so maybe that's comparable to what he's doing, as far as being dangerous with salmonella or whatever the bad stuff in those is? But I don't feel like I'm eating raw eggs with the chocolate protein powder, oats, banana, peanut butter and cinnamon. Eating just raw ground beef....gawd what a horrible feeling that must be.

I add live grubs to my morning shake. Big, juicy, yellow ones. They are high in protein and nutrients with a peanut-buttery aftertaste. Also, they have been scientifically documented to raise dht levels. I start salivating just thinking about it...
I can think of only one thing that is Pink and raw that I would spread & eat....
yeah!... its low calorie and gives a mean pump bahahahahah....... lipsmackinggood hmmmmmmm
Today's special A nice Vegan's Muff Burger.....Low in iron, but high in protein! Comes with a free kitten calendar. That is just wrong.....Naaaah
AnonYeah and you cant tell me that it is all kosher. Some of it is pretty nasty.
RustyhookerI dont eat raw beef but have known a few that do. Raw fish/seafoods...yes.
No I wouldn't. If its organic than its less likely to harm the guy but there are still risks. It just doesn't make sense to me because its harder to digest raw meat. It's harder for your body to break it down so you can absorb nutrients also. When cooked it may take some of those nutrients but its a lot easier for your body to intake nutrients from cooked meat. If that guy knows a secret I would sure like to know it lol
AnonSo... You're saying you haven't ever ate anything nasty?
You ever went home at 2 with a 10?
Woke up at 10 with a 2?
ha! man I've gotta stop drinking
i used to eat raw chopmeat all the time as a kid....its delicious....however, now so lilttle meat is from grass fed cows that are raised on a farm its just unsafe. cows are shoved in cramped quarters and are fed corn and all other shit thats unnatural to their diet. the conditions they are kept in is inhumane and breads all kinds of germs and viruses, which is why they are pumped full of antibiotics and washed in amonia....so unless that guy is eating organic beef from grass fed cows he's risking getting virulently sick.
AnonSweetheart, that isnt as much of a concern to me as what else they have ran through that grinder before the beef. Ground pork or sausage, ground turkey, homeless people, if they didnt clean it good... yuck!
PS: I might add your looking lovely today Miss alayna
well thank you D ;)
AnonI'm going to give you a +1 because I cant keep from it. If Nitti spanks me... oh well.
Have a great evening
I would right now. After I can break away for lunch I may not have the same opinion.
The human body is designed to eat cooked food, not raw semi digestable meat/egg - this ain't 1980, the rocky movies have come and gone.
StevebRaw food gives better nutrition but cooked food digest better. Some say eat both but definitely don't over cook anything
Anonhow does it give better nutrition if it doesnt digest well ??? Maybe you mean raw food has a higher vitamin content ? See thats where that bio availability comes in. All the vitamins in the world arent any good if you cant absorb them . The body gets more ourt of cooked food
But I think your right on about not overcooking. The idea is to just break the cell structure down slightly with both meat and veg.
StevebYou do take in vitamins from cooked food. How much depends on what it is you're eating. It's not black and white. A lot of really healthy people eat only raw food.
AnonUsing the fact that there are healthy people who eat raw does not negate the hard fact that the body gets more from slightly cooked food than raw. You can not measure the success of a raw diet simply by the fact there are healthy people, but you can measure the amount the food remains undigested when eaten raw, ansd you can measure the amount of vitamins extracted from cooked vs raw.
Sorry cooked wins.
StevebRaw milk, vegetables, fruit, nuts, berries are all better raw. Even raw eggs and milk are better. The problem is mainly with bigger prices of meat. Ground meat digest better. Raw milk has glutathione which removes toxins from your body. Pasturized milk is just liquid cheese that makes you fat. Saying cooked food wins every time is wrong. It depends on what food is cooked or not and how it's prepared.
Anonwell I'll give it to you there you got a few examples !!! Ok so I'll correct my statement by saying , as a whole our bodies are able to get more nutrient content from lightly cooked meats and vegetables.
Now as far as ground meat, yes Id be willing to believe the body can extract great amounts of nutrients from it, far more than a whole steak . Just like my reference to making juice, throwing the meat through the grinder probably breaks down some cel walls.
oops had to edit !!! I noticed you said raw eggs are better . NOT TRUE NOT AT ALL. Also Vegetables, they do not yield more to us in a raw state, unless they have been juiced.
Precisely, we are humans not animals - our bodies are different. Good stuff bro, people get too caught up in nutritional values... like you said, nothing matters if you can't absorb it. Like injecting test, you can inject all you want but without training and diet, results will be minimal.
StevebRaw eggs from a good source will raise your good cholesterol. I eat at least 1 dozen jumbo free range eggs all vegan feed and my cholesterol rarely goes over 200. When I used to cook them my cholesterol was much higher. Raw eggs are better "IF" they are from a good source.
AnonIm not sure you are understanding me,
OK this is a fact you can go look this stuff up.
No one is arguing that raw foods dont have higher meneral and vitamin content . The issue is can your body extract them ? The answer is no, not as easilly as when the foods are cooked. So if the raw / cooked argument is settled for you simply by measuring nutrient content in raw vs cooked then fine, you go believe what you want . But for me I am far more interested in what is the best way to get those nutrients out of the food, and the best way is to cook it ! Perhaps grinding beef helps too, but the bottom line is food in its raw state is harder for the body to digest.
BigBmajSo hundreds of thousands of years of evolution has been rerouted in the short time it took man to start cooking food?
Wrong. We were designed to eat raw foods.
We don't because the food industry is dirty as fuck and it's unsafe.
If beef is clean it's great to eat raw. Ever heard of beef tartare?
I'm all for eating raw food - as long as it's clean.
Protein maintains better integrity when uncooked.
AnonIm going to have to chime in here and say hes not at all wrong. Take a look at evolutionary changes and you will see the greatest change occuring when fire was invented. This allowed man to start cooking his meat and extracting far more nutrients from it. Raw meat requires far more energy to extract the same amount of nutrient. Look at the digestive tract length to most other carnivores and you will see it is much shorter.
Have you ever juiced ? lol and not I dont mean pinning it I mean drinking it. Well when you drink fresh carrot or beet juice or whatever you juice, you get more vitamins from it because the cell walls have been broken down and the fiber removed. There are certain instances where a process creates a greater bio availability of nutrients. Cooking meat is one of them.
Here you go BigB, check this out

BigBmajI do juice, often. I feel like this bodybuilding diet I consume is low on vegetable priority. So I take a pound of kale, spinach, pineapple, parsley, ginger, and berries and drink copious amounts a couple times a week. I feel like I can get more vegetables down in a couple days than most people eat in two weeks. That damn vitamix comes in handly, and I flipped out the day I noticed we bought a $700 blender.
Anonwow thats a serious juice recipe, I'll have to try that one !!
StevebAnonThats awesome !!!!! Thank you so much !!
Give them a vote if you find it helpful.PermalinkStevebMy girl was making those juices for me with the Jack Lalanne juicer. They all taste really great and you feel a lot better after a couple days.
BigBmajFuck bro I've up voted the hell out of you the last two days on accident. Your a cool guy but the fact that you want to try my green smoothie isn't karma worthy. Oh well, ill look around and see if I can throw a legit down vote your way to even the score.
If you are really interested in green drinks let me know. Ill give you some specific recipes. I've got lots of great ones. Maybe ill start a thread some day when I'm motivated.
Anonyouve upvoted the hell out of me ?? I see that accidental one up above, but where else ? I'll give it back dont worry ;)
Yeah I think a green juice recipe thread is a great idea.
BigBmajAnd the one above that. Or the other one that was voted up right around here.
Two in a 24 hour period counts as "the hell otta for me".
I take it back the one above it was worthy. I leaned something from that one.
Anonah just pretend Im wearing lingere and the two unjustified votes will seem normal.
ClassyChassisI would advise against drinking the raw eggs every day. Not because of salmonella, but because the white contains avidin, a glyco-protein that binds very strongly with biotin (vit B7). Consuming raw egg whites at 2 or more a day for several months causes a deficiency. In fact, this practice has produced the only examples of biotin deficiency serious enough to produce symptoms in adults.
Symptoms of biotin deficiency include:
Hair loss
Conjunctivitis
Dermatitis in the form of a scaly, red rash around the eyes, nose, mouth, and genital area.
Neurological symptoms in adults, such as depression, lethargy, hallucination, and numbness and tingling of the extremities
I used to drink raw egg whites also, and what I noticed was the lethargy after a while...And those pasteurized egg whites they sell aren't heated to a high enough temperature to break down the avidin either...
"The thermal stability and biotin binding activity of avidin are of both practical and theoretical interest to researchers, as avidin's stability is unusually high and avidin is an antinutrient in human food.
A 1966 study published in Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications found that the structure of avidin remains stable at temperatures below 70 °C (158 °F). Above 70 °C (158 °F), avidin's structure is rapidly disrupted and by 85 °C (185 °F), extensive loss of structure and ability to bind biotin is found.
A 1991 assay for the Journal of Food Science detected substantial avidin activity in cooked egg white: "mean residual avidin activity in fried, poached and soft-boiled (2 min) egg white was 33%, 71% and 40% of the activity in raw egg white." The assay surmised that cooking times were not sufficient to adequately heat all cold spot areas within the egg white.
Complete inactivation of avidin's biotin binding capacity required boiling for over 4 minutes"
So really, hard-boiled eggs are best from a nutritional standpoint. Just a heads up in case anyone is interested..
BigBmajIs that why the Russian almost beat Rocky? It had nothing to do with steroids, Sly was suffering from biotin deficiency.
Interesting! My shake contains anywhere from 3 to 6 and yes, I do that every day. It's so much easier - not only to prepare - but to consume. Quicker too. I mean, if I ate a bowl of cooked oats, 6 hard boiled eggs, a spoonful of peanut butter, a banana, and a protein shake with 2 scoops, it would take a hell of a lot more time to prepare and a lot more time to consume and, even though it's the same amount of solid food, I feel like I might feel a lot more full more quickly which I sure as hell don't want.
So I'm wondering, if you knew that much about the subject already, do you know if there is a way around it? Like being able to consume the raw eggs and taking some supplement to prevent it?
ClassyChassisI would probably take a biotin supplement later in the day after the egg whites are well on their way. This way your body would have access to biotin a good portion of the time. Biotin is pretty inexpensive.
AnonEwwwwe.. There is this Restaurant in AZ that are known for their Burgers. Sooooo friggin good, but the recommended way to order it is rare. I can't tell you how many people ate them rare, but I certainly enjoyed mine medium well. Red and bloody doesn't work for me. I do know that their meat came in fresh every day, not frozen from Niman Ranch in Cali. all natural and organic... Mmmm now I'm hungry!! PANK!!! WHERE ARE YOU?? I NEED SOME FOOD!!
56tooI think the French call it steak tar tar. I love it with just some garlic powder.
AnonThe safest way to go about this is having a lean cut of meat ground by the butcher at the moment of purchase. My ex in-laws are Lebanese and eat raw ground beef often (Kibbeh). The main danger with most ground beef is the combination of muscles from different parts of the cow, as opposed to a lean cut of steak from one particular part (Kosher is preferred).
Anonand as yoked said below, there is a lot of lemon juice added as well
When I was much younger and went to one of my first business dinners everyone was ordering appetizers and to fit in I ordered something called Steak Tartare. Sounded great, had no idea it was raw meat. Needless to say I had to eat it because I wanted to "fit in" but it really actually tasted good. Psychologically though it really messed with my head, just did not seem ok.
He can actually add lemon juice to the beef to make it a little safer. The acidity of the juice kills a lot of the bacteria.
It's called a cannibal burger. Usually topped off with a slice of raw onion. I myself would never eat any raw hamburger. The grinding process adds a much greater potential for bacterial contamination. Would be safer to eat a chunk of raw sirloin instead.
AnonIve seen a lot of people do it. I my self am not excited about raw or rare ground beef, but I think as far as a bacterial standpoint he is taking a risk but Id guess the odds are still way in his favor.
Ive eater completely raw chicken and not gotten sick.
May I ask why you ate raw chicken?
Anonhahaha it was an accident . My idiot friend decided he wanted his bachelor party as a camping trip. I asked him what we were eating and he said Chicken, so I asked if he planned on cooking it before we got there. He said no, I'll cook it there. I told him cooking chicken over an open flame is very difficult, but he said he could do it.
Anyway quite a few beers in, around 11:30 he yells " Chickens ready " . Now keep in mind this is in the complete darkness, only light is flashlight and fire. Anyway I grabbed a big old breast and started chomping in. The skin was black and charred but I kept eating, no bid geal. But then the texture just didnt seem right, and finally as I got near the bone it was actually still icy cold, so I asked for a flashlight and saw the chicken was completely raw, not rare but raw inside. Everyone dropped their chicken and stuck with non cooked foods after that. Anyway I figured I might be in for a rough ride but nothing happened.
LOL understood
