When to start Finasteride (hairloss)?
I'm getting ready to start my first cycle with testosterone enanthate. I was wondering when you should start Finasteride before your cycle to give it time to kick in and inhibit the conversion of testosterone to DHT.
On my mothers side of the family both her brother and father are bald, however they became bald around 17. I'm know 24 so there is the possibility I didn't inherit the gene, but at the same I might be more susceptible to male pattern baldness than the average person.
For Propecia, I saw that it can take up to 3 months to see less hair loss for someone already balding. Does that mean that it takes 3 months for Finasteride (the active ingredent in Propecia) to block the enzyme that converts testosterone to DHT, or does it take less time for someone not already balding but on cycle?
Any feedback would be great where it is personal experience or knowledge of finasteride or some other DHT inhibit
One more thing, does anyone know how effective finasteride is? I was also going to use a shampoo that gets rid of DHT in the scalp. Any suggestions on a shampoo and how effective are the shampoos?

Bro, fina takes 3 weeks to kick in. So start it three weeks before cycle. .5-1mg per day in the a.m. is enough, anymore than that and you diminish/block the effects of the test. Take through the first two weeks of pct. If you take long term (off cycle) it will cause you all the nasty side effects.
I use finasteride because propecia is expensive. Finasteride is the same as propecia except finateride is 5mg, propecia is 1mg. I cut each finasteride pill into 4 pieces so it is similar to propecia. The reason propecia is so expensive is because it is marketed as a hair loss med as where finasteride is used for prostate enlargment. Most drs should prescribe finasteride to be used as hair loss med if you tell them you will cut them.
Starting early with this might help keep hair.

hahaha thats right bber!, hair is like balls who needs em!, if your only taking test than just take the propecia when your cycle starts, figuring it will be around three weeks until test-blood levels really show right!, if using deca or winstrol, or eq, dont take propecia just take topical minoxidil, or you will end up losing ALL your hair!! the minoxidil worked great for me while on deca, and after my cycle i seen the top fill back in enough to have to cut it three weeks later!!

tread-mTake it as well as saw pallmetto beginning now. Keep taking the fin beyond the cycle for quite a few weeks and take the saw palmetto till your funeral. If you are cycling frequently such as pct and down time and right back on then stay on the fin too. For hair to come back is different in that you have a waiting period while everything is reversing and hair cells begin to grow again etc, prevention is quicker in terms of how long. Worst case scenario you end up bald and big and hot like me whe n I shave my head, whats not to love?

Anonfor some reason, i'm having trouble finding the recommended dosage for fina. i'm considering this as an addition to my upcoming cycle because i will be running masteron and var towards the end. i have experience with masteron, but not var and would prefer to continue hiding my big ugly head with hair.
