+ 13 Weight restricted AAS users

ad

There has been a lot of debate and discussion about AAS use and guys in weight restricted sports getting flamed because they're not "training to their natty potential before using aas." That is always a bodybuilder who says it. It's ignorant and narrow minded unless you know for certain that the guy is a bodybuilder. This site is an AAS site, not a bodybuilding site (I don't care who's tired of hearing that). You guys don't seem to grasp the concept. Some of you anyway. I'm just going to give you a glimpse into the physical punishment a weight restricted athlete goes through to maintain and make weight before their event. They train hard and use aas to intensify that training. They do NOT want to pack on weight which is why 9x out of 10 there is no test base. As absurd as you may think that sounds, they understand the risks they take and just like bodybuilding is your passion and you take risks to achieve your goals, so do they. Are you better than them? I don't think so! I lived it and I know the pain I endured to keep and make weight. This is a clip from a recently aired show following a fighter 2 days pre-fight. The physical and mental challenges they endure. Not to mention the money they stand to lose if they come in over weight even by a half pound. The way they weaken their body and mind to keep weight. My hope is it will give you a better perspective into their world and even a little compassion along with the respect they deserve. This is Mikey Garcia shedding excess weight 2 days pre fight to weight in at the light weight limit. Horrible to watch. Even worse to go through.

Why is it that the first few ppl who are arguing on behalf of my point have troll tags or ban tags? Not good for my cause. I'm roving this from stickies and bumping in the general discussion. When it fades away it stays away.

shawn0712's picture

I'm nobody, but when you made this post it enlightened me. And it irks me to see the bodybuilder mentality get pushed on the weight restricted athletes. Even in the past month we had a post with a fighter being told he was dumb for not wanting s test base. His goals honestky worked with one in the end. The fact is though, for most of us, this isn't common knowledge I think it has its place right there in the stickies

Nitti's picture

I'm nobody

Not gona get all Ghandi on you but why would you say that? That's bullshit! Believe it or not, I don't look at karma or time in for my judgment of character. Your voice is just as relevant as any other member. Seems like a trivial thing, but the more you spread that negativity about yourself, the more you're hammering that home! Don't speak it! Don't spread it! Don't think it,

shawn0712's picture

I can see that one. Sometimes the trivial sets the standard. Definitely wasnt my intention.

I just think it's a good post, and a sound reminder this isn't a bodybuilding site. Looking around, we need that voice out there. The cookie cutter approach doesn't fit everyone's goals. I've seen a lot of questions get shut down with the cookie cutter answers. Many of those guys never return to give more information about their question.
So this post is a reminder not everyone fits into the littke box. I'd vote to keep it stickied.

I don't know what possessed you to post a lab name in here but there is NO lab or source name dropping in the forum. Read the rules!

Well said everyone has a different goal

Lol...if I seriously commented with my exact feelings on certain topics here on eroids, then I would have been banned long ago. This is one of em...I am so glad someone like Nitti said this so eloquently, as I would've started a war with some ppl. I use AAS for other reasons besides "getting fucking huge" and what not...I give plenty of respect to bodybuilding, but it ain't for me. It requires discipline in its own regard such as other athletics. If someone wants to ask me how I feel about BBing and/or compounds, they can PM me cuz I for surely am not blasting it here still ;-)

iFit's picture

I read this the other day and can't stop thinking about it and how right you are. All of the advice I have seen in my time here is prejudiced by the assumption that everyone wants to be as big as possible. Any cycles or advice given that strays from that objective is quickly flamed. Could you imagine the negative impact on a professional athletes performance if he followed a bodybuilding cycle?

Nice post!

^^^Can't be said enough around here

I'm not even an "athlete" bro, I'm just an aging Biker keeping my edge. Like I've said before my GOALS aren't to be the BIGGEST fucker in the room, just the one you don't want to fuck with! :))

Nitti's picture

An aging biker? I thought you were 32?

SL's picture

Lol

HllwdBdBoy's picture

32?! 32 has been in the rearview for sometime LOL

kodiakGRRL's picture

yeah.. that IS old...

Engineereddisaster's picture

Good post bro. As a wrestler, I can definitely appreciate any weight restricted sport. I've been cutting on an off my whole life.

Greg's picture

When you are a man, sometimes you wear stretchy pants...

White Bolt's picture

I always suspected you were a pro wrestler. You Y2J bro?

Owes a Review × 2
Engineereddisaster's picture

Lol. No. There are only two real wrestlers that are pro wrestlers. Kurt Angle and Brock Lesnar. Take your pick. Smile

Darktide's picture

Hey good to see you! I wrote about you some posts down on my initial response about you cutting recently and how it is harder on the body as we get older.

Engineereddisaster's picture

Lol. I missed that.
What do you mean "at my age that's no small feat"? Are you saying I'm old? WTF?
Smile

Darktide's picture

Look anyone who listens to Ted Nugent is old! Granted he is your uncle but old none the less. not to mention the terms you use when we are talking about wrestling, I know them but many aren't used anymore well at least not since the 2nd century Smile

Engineereddisaster's picture

Lol, I don't even listen to Ted Nugent. I think you got confused by the posts where novi and Destructos kept calling me Ted Nugent. :)I listen to only the newest freshes metal and country like AC/DC, KISS, and Conway Twitty. Ok, I'll admit, I don't mind a little Cat Scratch Fever and Ding dang sweet poon tang from Uncle Ted, but shit I'm not that damn old am I?

All of my wrestling terms are up to date! Come on!

Now I'm just offended. Smile
All my love, no homo
Ed.

P.s.
In not as old as Randy Couture, and he still kicks ass. Wrestlers don't age brother. You should know this. Smile

Darktide's picture

LOL! I listen to Ted Nugent! Look when You are as old as me you need company up in here! You wanna know how you know when you are old. It is when your granddaughter walks in the room while you are working out with your classic rock on and they ask you to "put on some music!" My self esteem was not flying high that day let me tell you Smile

Engineereddisaster's picture

Lol. I can feel better knowing that I don't have any grandchildren yet. :).
If it makes you feel any better. My oldest child is still probably younger than your youngest grandchild. :).

Darktide's picture

My oldest child is still probably younger than your youngest grandchild. :).

Yeah that cheers me right the hell up lmao! I am gonna get you a volunteer job with the USO you will be great for cheering up the downtrodden troops! Actually made me laugh though:)

Engineereddisaster's picture

Lol. It's all good. I think I just started the baby makin' a little later in life than you did. You started at 12, I started at 30. :).

Darktide's picture

That is the truth Smile

Hey guys I made this group up for all those who want to discuss their goals for aas usage and the diversity without being judgmental for the reasons. I made it wide open for everyone, I would really appreciative it if all those who participated here join and look into it and use your wisdom to help others out. Obviously everyone here is more than qualified to moderate this so please do.

This was made more for the newer members to have a chance to see how eroids can be of great help to them. Nitti told me how much people contact him all the time feeling intimidated to participate here because of not being bodybuilders. So lets see if we can help them out.

I know it is hard for people to find the groups section so Nitti feel free to send any that need to be in this one over there and we will take care of them

Nitti's picture

Nice work brother! Appreciate it.

Darktide's picture

It was really nothing I didn't even think about it until you made this post. But the guys here I know will be a huge help to these members and they are more than willing to participate.

I always found the comment "you need food, not gear" kind of funny. People make that comment w/o knowing what someone's trying to do. Extra weight and muscle development can be a liability, but strength or endurance an advantage depending on the activity. Thanks for championing these AAS users.

Darktide's picture

Brother I don't know how busy you are but I think you have come up with exactly what is needed with these issues so if you have the time I would appreciate you checking out this group and helping any that come this way. Big Thanks!

snuka2012's picture

Whatever I can Smile

White Bolt's picture

Yeah lol. That comment is so ignorant. Eating more food won't make you a Greek god if you're training natural. Steroids will.

"you need food, not gear"

That is one of those comments that has been over and misused in my opinion. I do believe in some case when a person states they are 20 and want to gain muscle and start on three different compounds but have never first squared away a good diet sure it can apply. But like Nitti pointed out making the assumption that everyone is doing it for weight and muscle gaining is a bad assumption.

snuka2012's picture

That is true. It is an appropriate comment in certain instances. Maybe an accompanying question of "goals?" besides "stats?" ought to be asked as needed.

mwagner630's picture

i like that, and i will add that to the stats question from now on.

Darktide's picture

Exactly! I honestly think this thread can solve a lot of issues that negate many from participating.

Darktide's picture

Yeah Me too! Could you imagine someone just telling you "hey you need food no gear" Especially when they are taking a shitload of gear lol.

Nitti's picture

you need food not gear

Glad I'm not the only one who thinks that is a ridiculous comment

when i made the decision, this late in life to put the gloves back on. i had been at BB for a while. realizing my weight in excess of 215lbs at 5'9" was unacceptable to get back in the cage. i fight at welter 170lbs. i had to cut almost 40 pounds to even make a decent cutable weight for a fight. i am currently at 180 pounds. although i am only amateur i think it makes it even more difficult, unlike the pro fighters, i have same day fight weigh ins. so i weigh in 8 hours before the fight. so the week prior i will cut, as healthy as i possibly can 5-7 pounds than cut the rest the 24 hours before the fight. than i need to rehydrate with a wonderful concoction of vitamins, nutrients, potassium, carbs, electrolytes and many other things like aminos and protein. than i need to hope and pray my cut was not to hard and i am revitalized and have the energy to compete as close to 100% as possible. i have a restrictive diet, an intense training schedule. i need to watch my weight everyday, everything i eat and drink. if i cheat i need to put in extra time to make sure it doesnt reflect in the scale. any and all supplements and aas have to be monitored extremely close, with a scrutiny that isnt even comparable to BB use. when i take something it can not effect my weight and often what i do take now causes many issues that i had never dealt with while BB. i sleep worse, i am more sugar sensitive, G.I. issues are more frequent, sweating is more profuse. my joints ache all the time. i often have headaches and more often than not i am very tired and lethargic. i believe to that because i take in just enough to maintain and compete that when i am injured i do not heal as quickly because there isnt the additional nutrition for illness or injury. the challenges that weight based athletes face is no easy task to accomplish, i often find myself wondering in doubt if its worth what i go through, but when my hand is raised i feel like i have conquered the world. my next fight in Nov 15th, this will mark my 7th time in a ring or cage. at almost 40 i feel i may have one or two fights left. i dont fight for anything but to prove something to myself. after everything life has handed me, i do this for myself.

Most aas users in combat sports are amateur. AAS, stimulants and even drugs that open up the air ways are littered across the amateur circuit. I was a short ester and oral whore. I can't even count how many times I used tren a for 2-3 weeks at a time by itself. Or halo without test. Just liver support and Amphetamines. I didn't have great guidance or even a site to go to for help. I had a strength and conditioning coach who's salary was paid by the promotor in our circle. He said "take this twice a day" or "time for your shot". At least here on eroids they have the proper info to make educated decisions on their health and the drugs they are using.

mwagner630's picture

this is one of those times id love to say what MMA gym i train at. those that i come in contact with and the conversations we have. i agree its more common among amateur, i believe solely because of lax testing. when i see or hear of someone getting tested at the amateur level they usually look as if they are fitness models or pro body builders, but also i see a great deal of use among top tier pro fighters but their use is almost always regulated by a doctor or endocrinologist and these medical professionals knowingly and purposely assist in a way that covers it up. i will say this though our top guy and team captain has zero tolerance for it and has always been a straight edge guy. getting caught by him even talking about it can get you booted from the gym

Big13's picture

Doing whatever it takes as an athlete to succeed is what sets that person apart from the next guy. Punishing himself to make weight and then making it is what makes that man a champion. AAS or not he is a beast.
Big muscles dont make you tough. Its drive and intensity that take you to the next level. My grandfather 5'7" 165 in his prime (WWII)boxed under jack dempsey during service...would always say size means absolutely nothing if the man hitting you knows how to throw a punch...he was a short angry italian man and a great teacher.
