Tips when you get sick—help please
ad
Been battling this damn cold a couple weeks now. To say it’s been a setback is an understatement!
What do you guys do for cold prevention?
What do you guys usually do once sick? My appetite suffers but I think that is due to not training as heavy/intense.
Are you guys backing off of training a little or a lot?
Symptoms are runny nose, cough, fever on/off, body aches, and a sore throat.
Thanks

AnonDon't forget to change your tooth brush, this is often overlooked. Not changing it out will often prolong or reinfect a cold/flu/infection because the bacteria is still in the brush.
ClassyChassisThat's a good tip. Thanks. +1
Man I wish there was a simple fix for it but in my experience pushing on through is the only way. Just adjust accordingly don’t go mental and ruin yourself.take it easier if you must. The rest isn’t going to do any harm.
I’ve been sick for 2 going on 3 weeks now too, right bang in the middle of a cycle too. Waking up 4am every morning unable to breathe properly from being so blocked up but still having to soldier on with fasted cardio as it has to be done for me. It isn’t fun but strangely makes me feel better once I get to work
WHAT I DO ,
is simple , when sick i do what i can tolorate , ans eat what i can eat. ...
honestly theres nothing more you can do,, now thats for the common cold or a touch of crud ..
IF its like namonia or chance of , or anything serious. ,FUCK THE CYCLE , theres always another cycle. , but theres not another me. ..
I guess what i mean is we do this , because we care about our health and to be healthy self confidence , how we look , ect .... to push through a serios illness is counter productive imo.
so use your best judgement. and be healthy ,, i hope you feel better.

Last thing I want to bug you guys with are the meds I was rx’d. If anyone can speak to any of these concerning safety (with aas)
Per the dr—Bronchitis and sinus infection (two things going on, both bacterial)
Dr just rx ‘d;
Levaquin—strongest antibiotic I know of, never used it, high warning for tendon ruptures post course.
Prednisone—corticosteroid that unless someone puts my mind at ease I’m not comfortable taking. Doubt I’ll take this as I’m on test and Deca atm. I know anabolics are different than corticosteroids but too many sides from prednisone imo.
Purple drank aka codeine cough syrup—poppin the cap now.
Best news
Despite being sick I was still 253 lbs with a BP OF ONLY 123/86. Not too bad!
RustyhookerCortisone will combat deca. Dudes getting cortisone shots lost their pain relief. Unsure about prednisone directly. Deca lowers cortisol....corticosteroids raise
I got the same warning from my doc when I had to take Levaquin. She said be very careful because you can easily pop a tendon. Don't brush that warning off. Careful lifting weights.
Prednisone, you are not taking it long term just short term to relieve inflammation. Shouldn't be a big deal. I have never had problems with I have had to take it for tendonitis.
If ever I'm coming down with a bad cold I use a whiskey toddy......cup of hot milk generous shot of whiskey into the milk drink right before bed and were sweatpants and t-shirt for bed and the illness will sweat out of you.
Works every time bro
Use Primo.
Does anybody me know how Antibiotics work during a course of aas? Bro science back in the day said they don’t mix. I’m not a fan of antibiotics (just as nobody suggested), but I’m taking off work and heading into the dr. I know what they’re going to rx which I doubt I’ll fill but my breathing is getting difficult and I want them to test me for pneumonia etc.
Just got back from the store with Kleenex, honey, NyQuil, and a boatload of lemons.
Appreciate the feedback bros
They kind of don't...you have to be careful especially with orals because antibiotics can raise your liver values, some substantially.......please keep this in mind for those who didn't know this.
You forgot the rum.
I use daily for acne. No problems. I eat Greek yogurt for the LACs.
Back in the day they believed that the antibiotics made orals less potent since the antibiotics killed off intestinal flora that helped deliver the orals through the intestine. Some modern day antibiotics also stay in the liver several weeks,so that can be a problem. If you have a bacterial infection you need an antibiotic. If you have a viral infection you don't,unless you are prone to fluid and mucus build up which can cause a secondary infection.Secondary pneumonia can kill you just like primary pneumonia,so listen to you doctor, take what he prescribes and take it all as prescribed.Get rest and good luck.
I am not aware of any interactions with antibiotics and AAS, maybe some issues with orals but injectables shouldn't be an issue. biggest concern is cycling while not in optimum health so hopefully you can kick this quick.
Thanks Mak me too
You are probably seeing a pattern here: rest (stay out of gym), stay well hydrated, plenty of vit C. What seems to help knock down a cold for me is taking a double dose of Nyquil before bed. Could be cause maybe it helps me get a better night's sleep and we all know what a good nights sleep can do for us.
I use Emergen-C in the a.m. & p.m. & get your rest brother & push extra h2O
Here is my home remedy for the common cold - it's the humble Rum Toddy. Juice of one large lemon, half a mug of hot water, a tablespoon of honey and two shots of rum. Mix together, sip while still hot. Take just before going to bed with Aspirin if desired. Guaranteed to feel better the next day. Take each night for a couple of days.
The rum toddy's are good, especially with sore throat.
Yes mate. Where I live they have never heard of them, but I have a few converts now.
For cold prevention don’t mingle with other humans because viruses mutate and there’s not much defense against them.
Skip training, it stresses your body and slows recovery. Also do you really want to be the guy wiping your boogers everywhere during a half assed work out? I’ve asked multiple people to leave my gym when grossly sick.
If you need to power through your day my go to is alka seltzer and primatene every 4 hours with a little coffee thrown in.
Sounds like you might want to check for strep throat
They should put a big sign in the gym in the winter. If you are sick, stay the hell out of here!
That’s awesome you’ve asked people to leave when sick. I understand and I get the same look at the office too. It’s tough to stay away! Alka Seltzer is a mans remedy right there
Its actually really easy to stay away. If your sick you do yourself no justice by trying to put your body into more stress. Hence why it takes you so long to kick the cold. Zinc, cold medicine, vitamin c and that dirty word called rest. Theres the secret.
I forgot about zinc. That is supposed to be a real biggie when trying to kick a cold.
I swear by it, I take 25mg a day split when I feel a cold coming on. I either never get it, or it lasts about 2 days 3 tops. I still take it while sick too. Zicam kicks ass too
Funny you say that Mack.....the last few months I've been taking ZMA before bed and around this time of year I'm 99%guaranteed to get the g
Flu or a bad cold.
And so far so good not even a runny nose
I think the real key to Zinc is to take it as soon as you feel cold coming on. Taking it after the cold is going full bore doesn't do as much then.
That is correct.
Sorry, I meant ‘tough (for me) to stay away’
You’re right though; it’s very easy for most people to stay out of the gym when xyz happens.
Work is one thing but choosing to spread your germs in public unnecessarily is rude imo. I spent the last 7 years working in a hospital lab though.
Combine the primatene with the alka seltzer you’ll feel normal for 8-12 hours with that combo. It’s behind the pharmacy next to the fake stuff (pseudoephedrine)
Hot baths or better a sauna. Plenty of fluids too
Vitamin c.ibprofrn n Theraflu... Honey in some hot tea.. Gotta relax bro, ur sick.. Let it run its course.. Stay hydrated to man....I got over test flu in 3 days . Felt great yesterday... Best of luck bro
Thanks bro same to you!
I am NOT advocating pinning some sort of compound frivolously. I'm simply making a statement that is worth researching. Please don't think that I'm advocating being reckless. I'm not. Safety is key, cuz it works.
Primobolan enanthate has been shown to "improve the immune system response." I personally use 150mg per week in the winter as an "immune system booster." I used to see this protocol as "TRT with added primo" but now I've changed my world view as seeing it as a "long, low dose blast of primo."
I read once that peeps who are HIV positive utilize primobolan to reverse muscle wasting disease, and that patients have benefitted "from immune system boosting properties of the compound." (I'll try to find the link to where I read that.)
However, I admit, I don't get sick when I'm on primo, even though everyone in my family (including kiddos) has contracted the flu already this winter. I've been healthy.
I'm not saying that I won't ever get sick on primo. (Hell, with my luck, I'll have the sniffles tomorrow morning, now that I've written that cocky statement, "I don't get sick!" Life will feed me that humble pie, no doubt. I've probably jinxed myself.)
I'm simply reporting my experience with primo e. It's worth researching and possibly experimenting with.
Again, I sincerely advocate peeps to not be cavalier and just pin themselves with primobolan, "just cuz ZeusM says it's the shit, yo." It's not good, it's not bad, it's simply a tool that might help peeps with their immune system. I am happy to report that I utilize it as preventative medicine. If others have experience to the contrary, please share! I wanna learn from everyone wiling to share. Thanks gang. -ZeusM
Winter sounds like a good time to run a primo cycle.
Just went back on, lol
Baller...
I was thinking about it since it is taking up a good chunk of space in my tackle box but I have always wanted to try a good deca run so that is what is in store for the winter now.
Page 976 of William Llewellyn's e-book pdf "Anabolics" has a chapter about the medicinal use of primoblan, but it doesn't mention any direct or indirect immune system benefits. It simply talks about it's use in treating wasting disease, or used in conjunction with other medications after certain surgeries, etc.
(To download the book, here's the link to the forum link for free e-books: https://www.eroids.com/forum/general/general-talk/i-thought-i-would-cont... )
(The link to download Anabolics is the in the 12th row, 7th column.)
Here's two other blog posts that I found helpful:

https://www.swolhq.com/primobolan/
I'd LOVE to see some published research about this subject, even if it's several decades old and from other countries other than the USA (since it's been illegal in the US for a long time). If anyone has any links, please share. Thank you!
As if I needed another reason to run Primo, thanks for the info!
+1 for you bro—never tried it!
what country are you from pal? getting much sunlight exposure?
Vit D deficiency is common in the UK and it potentially can help with recovery and prevention from colds and illnesses,,,,may be worth looking into
Appreciate it—sunny here for the most part.
Oyeh .....try this ....it helps alooot when feeling shitty with a cold
1 teaspoon of honey + squeeze some juice from a garlic , mix them both into a hot glass of water and then drink.....
the honey helps the immune system alot and is also an antiseptic so clears small infections up,,garlic just read into it
Raw honey and garlic actually might be decent for helping with an illness. Better than any supplement, that’s for sure
That’s why we have foods fortified with vitamin D. Particularly dairy products.
correct . id much prefer getting the vit D from basking in the Sun, unfortunately for me the snow aint letting my ass out the house so sunshine vit D is a dream atm
ebuyankeeDude go to Hawaii)
