Sunday Funday
As always, I'm spending my Sunday afternoon cooking up some grub to last me the week. On the menu for this week is pork steaks, ribeyes, chicken breast (boneless), and tuna/egg salad. To go with all this, I have assorted nuts, rolled oats, peanut butter (with peanut oil), eggs, fresh fruits, romain lettuce for salads, brown rice, beans, whole wheat bread, yogurt, oh and ON Whey powder. Needless to say the dutch oven is gonna be crucial!
One of the most common reasons for people being unable to follow a healthy meal pattern is the fact that the majority are always on the go. Just too damn busy. This is where planning comes into play. I live a rather busy life, myself. I typically have 1-2 hours to myself at the end of each day before it's time to hit the sack and do it all over again. But I make time for the gym and my diet. I shop for groceries once a week, and I spend my sunday sprawled out on the sofa and cooking grub for the upcoming week. If I don't do this, I will no doubt eat like shit for that week.
So, if you think you're schedule is too hectic, re-evaluate how you spend the spare time you have. It takes minimal effort to prepare for a week at a time.

AnonTime and convenience are as you say a huge factor in what people eat, hence the popularity in "fast food". I do think preparing the weeks meals is a great idea, however an interesting thing to consider is the social aspect of our meals . That being said I have found one of the most important things for me is having my wife on a similar diet as me.
If all your meals are alone then its easy, but when someone in your house Is always making cookies, and stuff like that its twice as hard even if your meals are prepped.
Man this really kills me!! I can eat the same boring thing every day, but my girl always wants something differnt and a side and it usually isnt veggies. Plus her son lives with us so she buys him cookies and bad shit...otherwise i wouldnt buy that shit!
it was so much easier when i was single!
AnonA lot of things were easier single LOL.
Im glad for what I have though, and luckily one of my boys favorite meals is NY strip W Broccoli.
Unfortunately when I came home Thursday there was a batch of coconut cupcakes and rasberry rugalah. I was annoyed and then of course my wife cried that she was just trying to do something nice. Its hard when they dont realize something nice would be a big salad.
Lmao man aint that the truth! But Im more than happy with my girl too and she is trying to eat like me and even come to the gym now.
But like you said when she cooks sometimes i can taste that she put salt and when i bring it up its like the end of the world haha or one time i was in a bad mood and she made white rice and I made a huge deal about and it told her "you might as well just give me a cup of sugar" lmao...she still wont let that go lol
AnonNo doubt on that. Mine can't cook for crap, and she eats horribly. She has an extremely picky pallet so it's difficult to get her and I on the same schedule food wise. Lots of times, it's me cooking for myself or two separate meals...
AnonWell Im sure if you keep cooking for her she'll turn around.
AnonShe used to not eat pork. I told her that, if she broadened her horizons a bit, I might put a ring on her finger. Needless to say we had pork chops that week! Lol
lol if i mentioned marriage my girl would get show ready lol
Anonhaha. yeah, and the date is set for the upcoming summer. lol. (and no, it wasn't the pork.)
haha yeah bro i know the day is coming and she is a good girl, but the word marriage gives me a knot in my stomach lol
Anonunderstandable
sorry man I dont know how the fuck that happened
AnonHaha. It's all good
Right on target. food prep on sunday for the whole week and taking a cooler everywhere you go is the secret. It doesnt help to cook all that food if its at home and im stuck 2 hours away. I take my cooler everywhere, you never no when you will get side trcked and need food. The last thing you want to do is get stuck and have to figure out how your gonna eat. about 14 lbs of chicken and 6 doz eggs does it for me

your RIGHT about majority are always on the go
Well said, my sunday is also lounge around and cook time. The way I see it is that some people just don't want it bad enough.
