+ 5 SETTING THE SLEEP ENVIRONMENT!
For part one of the series click on this link “The Importance of Sleep” https://www.eroids.com/forum/general/general-talk/the-importance-of-sleep
Where we sleep every night, is a very important part of how we sleep. There are many factors that go into making up a proper sleep environment. Improving your sleep environment can be a very big part of your entire sleep pattern.
First, you must do everything you can to insure that the room you sleep in is as quiet as possible. Unnecessary noises that occur during the night will disturb your sleep, and interfere with the quality of sleep.
Analyze your bedroom, and see where improvements can be made. Single pane windows can be replaced with insulated double pane windows. This can have a dramatic impact on reducing external noises.
Fiberglass insulation can be added to walls, and above ceilings to reduce noise from nearby or adjoining rooms, or rooms above you. This type of insulation will also save money on heating and cooling.
Many people go to sleep with lights, televisions, radios, or some type of music playing. If the music is soft and soothing music which was used to help put your to sleep; that's OK. However, if it isn't, you should reconsider.
The best sleep is usually obtained in a quiet room, and a peaceful environment. If you do any of the above, try sleeping with the TV off, and all the lights off. The darker the room… the better the sleep! That's a general rule, but it applies to most people.
If you have teenage kids that are up late at night, and tend to make a considerable amount of noise; it is probably necessary to discuss the matter with them. They need to understand that their financial security comes from you, and you need your rest.
Assuming the room is darkened quiet; are you comfortable in the bed you sleep in? The proper bed and mattress is crucial to proper sleep, and maintaining a healthy back. Although many people do not like a very hard mattress, they are usually the best for back support.
After a while most people get used to harder mattresses. Sleeping on a soft mattress may feel comfortable, however if it causes a back injury, in the long run it is not a good idea.
When you're in the bed, your sleeping attire is important as well. If your sleeping in cloths that are not comfortable, chances are your sleep will not be comfortable either.
Try to select sleeping attire that you find comfortable, and don't worry so much about the style. Most people prefer loose and soft fitting sleeping apparel. Make sure that they are appropriate for the time of year. You don’t want to be sleeping in heavy PJ’s in Arizona during the summer. Keeping your body temperature at the right level is important for good sleep also.
Room temperature is therefore very important also. If a room is too hot, people tend to wake up sweaty, tired, and hazy mentally. Obviously, one should wake up feeling refreshed and clear mentally after sleeping.
Conversely, a cold room is no good either. Waking up feeling chilled can lead to injury, or illness.
Additional to proper temperature, it is very important to maintain a supply of fresh air and all times during sleep. How you do that, depends upon your house, and ventilation system. Sleeping with out fresh air is unhealthy.
So if we study everything above, we can see that creating a healthy sleep environment is important, and not as simple as most people think. Getting all the factors above right can mean dramatic improvement in the quality of our sleep.
Review the list above, and make the improvements you need. The reward will be better sleep, increased vitality, and productivity and BETTER RESULTS IN THE GYM AND YOUR PHYSIQUE!.

"If the music is soft and soothing music which was used to help put your to sleep; that's OK." - When I was younger I used to love getting stoned and listening to Pink Floyd on my headphones as I drifted off to sleep...but I don't think the OP's post is really subscribing to that practice. Nice write up though - agree with all that is posted. Although silence is important - sometimes because it's not possible to live in a quiet environment 'white noise' is also a useful adjunct to sleeping. Where I live its summer all year round with 'summer' being really fucking hot - so I have the aircon on all night...it regulates the temp and adds that white noise to drown out the neighbours singing karaoke and their dogs continuously barking out of tune.
Nice read !! Thanks john !!
I'm starting to enjoy reading these articles now
Its kind of the steroids final thought for the day! + For all the effort you regularly put in.
+1 another solid post brother... thanks for the read
Nice write up brother. Sometimes we dont realize how to get that good night sleep until we're a little older. I spent the extra for a nice quality firm mattress and the total blackout curtains. My girl laughs at me because my bed has to be made and room cleaned before bed. Just makes me sleep and wake up better. Now if I only had more insulation in my bedroom walls, damn kiddos be hearing too much!!!!
Dam bro I sleep with a box fan summer and winter 365 a year
AnonSame here, I also take a battery powered fan with me when I go out of town, if i dont i lay there and listen to my heartbeat and go really deep into thought.
