Set backs and learning lessons
Hey brothers,
Well it looks like you’ll be seeing me a little more on here now. Recently I tore my pectoral and it really messed with me. Let me give you a quick little backround....
Ever since 14 I started working out. And man did I find something I loved. Not only do you see results, feel great, people look up to you but women love you for it! Shit I mean I found my zen, my muse, my anchor. I’m 36 now and got to my strongest I’ve ever been. Man I was looking great, feeling great and things were going amazing. I found a girl and thought she was the one. Work was going amazing. I mean man I had it all. I sobered up back in September and I was really proud of myself. Well then in January my girl broke up with me and usually you know it hurt you get frustrated and where do you go??!! The gym, so I started hitting it hard and got in literally amazing shape. Until two weeks later and I was on bench doing 375 x 6 and in the forth rep BOOM! Like a rubber band my left pectoral snapped. I mean holy fucking shit this hurt! I knew something was wrong so I went home and the next morning the thing was all sorts of black and blue. So I went to the doctor and got an ultra sound and mri and it’s torn in 3 areas.....Surgery is scheduled and I’m here in limbo. You know all my life I’ve used working out as my anchor. I got really depressed after the results came back and literally slept everyday till 3 and barely would get outta bed. I was heart broken cause my girl and now everything I knew was taken away from me. It was one of the hardest things I had to deal with.
Well, finally got up one day and went to the bathroom and I saw my gains going away. I looked like shit so I said what the fuck is wrong with you. You’re stronger then this, better then this and I am now finally getting back in the gym. Doing what I can and trying to stay focused. I learned a lot this year and I’m looking forward to what is to come. Sorry to vent and I appreciate whoever reads this.

Women and injuries are part of life. They both have taken their tolls on me over the years. Only one answer, quit feeling sorry for yourself, keep your head up, and press on. I'm assuming there is no reason why you cant work your legs or other areas like diet etc. You will heal and return.
Wow bro, sorry to hear about ur injury. Alot of us have had injuries and that's a rough one. So I went back and looked into some of ur other post. Respectfully and imo, u seem to have a very addictive personality. U need to relax and understand that u can recover from this. I would tell u stay away from the gym and concentrate on diet, research, diet, and home exercises till u have full recovery from surgery. I say this because u seem not to listen and seem to be passionately obsessive. Girls come and go, fat comes and goes, but u have to have a firm grip mentally... sorry ur dealing with all this, stick around and keep us updated brother.
Thanks a lot bro. It’s definitely been a learning lesson and I’ve just been really blessed to never have had a serious injury before. That’s probably another reason it’s so hard for me. Thanks for the advice and I’ll take it into consideration. God bless
AnonThis just described me.
Kinda 'landed on me,' in fact
Lol.. yes it's easy to get caught up into something, move to fast, and then realize uve fucked up everthing u worked so hard for.
