Pinched nerve

ad

Hey guys. I have had a pinched nerve for well over 3 weeks now. The pain starts in my right shoulder blade and goes down my elbow into my hands. Doc has me prednison and muscle relaxers. And this is not helping. Anyone have an idea that might help this sob release. Killing my training big time.

Best Regards,

DL

Okay let me tell you what I think is really going on. You sound like you have a herniated disc in your neck. Get a mri and see an nuerologist or a chiropractor. I had it happen to me last year and was told it was a pinched nerve and after months of pain I found out what it really was. I herniated a disc in my neck which fucked up the nerves and sent unbelievably pain down my left arm into my hands. Shit felt like it was on fire. I couldn't do anything for almost half a year and lost 25-30 lbs of muscle during that time.

I am actually still fighting this problem and seeing a nuerologist next week (it's been over a year now) and I have been on every med and done pt and chiropractor, massage, spinal decompression and nothing has helped. Just had to wait it out or have surgery that was my options.

Unfortunately I lost half of my left triceps and lat. A sure sign is if you arm with the pain is weaker than the other or if there is any muscle atrophy. Also if you have any numbness or tingling in your fingers that too is a sign. Hopefully I'm wrong bro and it's just a pinched nerve but I'd look into an mri.

Good luck.

That is a difficult thing to deal with........I would recommend getting scans done..... If the nerve is entrapped you might need surgery to correct it.......... not trying to be a Debbie downer....... but if it is entrapped the sooner you find out the better.

Had this like 2 years ago bad. Thought I tore my posterior labrum (again) it was so bad. Luckily a heavy 10 day dose of methyl prednisone helped me. Shit was crazy though, could not stop eating from pred

Pinched nerve will take a while to get normal again. I had a pinched nerve in my trap that was so bad there was like a oval knot on my trap. I used muscle relaxers too and honestly they didn't help much. Call your doctor and tell him you need some patches. Yes their exspensive but was the only thing that helped me. It's actually a ibuprofen patch but you have to have a script. Bro it took mine about 6 months before I could fully get back in the swing of things.Obviously shoulders and upper back it something you either need to lighten the weight up or stop for a couple weeks. The idea is to keep the area strong while it heals without straining it. Try Epsom salt bathes also. Good luck bro...

Physical Therapy bro! I have arthritis and a nerve impingement in my neck. I've been to chiro and an me, nothing helped until I did PT. There are tonic of resources online to help you stretch the area and to help release the nerve.

Here is a site to get you started:

I get those all the time in the neck. You need the get the muscles to relax. If it's really bad a muscle relaxant may be necessary but I refuse to use those. I go with 800mg ibuprofen 4x a day and try to get your wife/gf to massage the area for a few minutes several times a day.

Also, pay close attention to your posture. I tend to hang my head and lean forward slightly when it hurts and that only makes things worse.

Good luck
