Pec strain, need some advice.

ad

Usually I do chest once or twice a week on mondays and thursdays....

This week one of my sessions got cut short so I did a sunday , short wednesday and friday bench.

On Friday I had done a couple sets to warmup went from 315 to 385 and on my third rep felt like a stretch or something.

I went back down to 315 did one rep and knew to leave it alone.

I have had a pec tear before where I heard tearing noises, and I know this wasn't one of those luckily.

I have been injecting ipamorelin at 500 mgs a day into the area and also deep massaging it .

Any advice on time to take off/ etc?

Yes I just did this. I am taking a week off from chest and laying off heavy for a little while. You have to build your way up to heavy weight and not just skip to it and everyonce in a while I get a hair up my ass and jump straight to heavy.. I just did this as well. I've done it before too.

Lay off heavy for awhile 3-4 weeks...than slowly bring up your weight again ..if you feel anything funny during this process lighten up ...do lots of streching massage heat helps with the recovery ....basically i didnt do what im telling you and ended up tearing both my pecs at different times cause i kept lifting heavy or i increased back too fast after injury good luck

Brother, I had a shoulder injury for years. Only recently have I begun (reluctantly) to reincorporate barbell bench press into my lifting routines. It took YEARS. I admit, I've been using AAS since the new year, and with low dose only, but even in these ten weeks, I'm healed.

As always, LISTEN TO YOUR BODY. If you can avoid mental stress, it'll help your physical stress heal more quickly. Relax, breathe intentionally a few times per day for a few minutes, and consciously smile. Avoiding negativity and embracing humor & good mojo will do wonders for your healing time.

You could sleep 12 hours a day, but if your waking hours are 12 hours of drama, you'll take months to heal. But you could also get "normal" sleep with good mojo filled days, and your body will respond accordingly. (I'm a big believer that stress hormones fuck us up in ways that we have only recently been able to use the scientific method to measure and understand.)

Wishing you a speedy recovery, brother! Stay positive as best you possibly can. Cheers!

You need to be very careful. AAS will mask shoulder and joint pain. You'll think your miraculously healed and start pushing more weight, then end up causing serious injury.I have one shoulder and both elbows that have progressively gotten worse over the yrs. My last cycle I felt awsome. Thought I was good. Within 2 wks of cycle end, the pain was worse than before the start of the cycle.

Thank you for sharing this nugget! It's something that I haven't considered.

I do notice that my body feels "strained" sometimes, like chest will "tweak" if I reach for something too quickly. I think that I need to stretch more (in general, for that matter) now that I'm using aas.

Regardless, @true grit, thank you for that share. +1

Sodium is a two edged sword, especially with steroids. The body has to have it, but too much causes problems. I typically end up cutting out too much sodium, usually from sweating too much. I have the same problem. Muscle strain, muscles "catching", charlie horses, etc. Too little sodium and or taurine.

I've added 1000mg of Tuarine into my daily supplements, along with milk thistle, vitamin D and a probiotic. It does seem to help. I have been sweating like a gypsy with a mortgage lately, and I get night sweats now too. I also sleep like the dead (compared to six months ago, pre AAS for me). So I don't worry about salty foods much anymore. I simply eat them. I fast on Tuesdays (emotional & "spiritual" reasons) so I don't worry about "keep the sodium low" in my diet. Then again, I don't overdo it either. However, brother, thank you for adding your voice. I'm learning a lot, daily. I greatly appreciate it.

Hey man,

I feel your pain and me personally I usually don't touch the muscle for 14 days and then just lean back into it with machines and stretching until I can feel the issue resolve. The peptides might help but for me I have never noticed much of a difference with them vice some serious bloat.

From a holistic side... Massaging the area with a mixture of equal parts powdered ginger, sea salt and raw honey then covering with some plastic over night might help with the healing.

Wish you well
