Karma system
So I just saw this morning the vote now is about the karma system. I see it says that 28% agree its based on popularity. Another 28% believe its knowledge. Then which is what I voted for is that it needs a redesign.
I believe that gear pics shouldn't get karma I believe that they should be posted for the reason a mod said it was created to see what real gear looks like. Its hard for me to say that selfies shouldn't get karma because some guys really deserve it because you can see the work they have put in but a normal guy like my build posting a self pic should just be so you guys can see im not a 16yr old that hasn't ever worked out. There should be no karma there.
In the forums I believe that the thumbs up thumbs down is perfect design and that being able to +1 or neg the writer of the post is a great design also.
Does anyone else have an idea or opinion that they think would help the karma system be more effective im really interested in this.

Karma is just important if you want to be "famous" here, for reviews I rather trust people they are here since a long time and reviewed already many times!
I know guys here with less Karma they helpem me much more than guys with +500 Karma.
So in my opinion, it's good but not something what I mainly value

I think the karma system for the most part is ok. Here lies the problem, like any system people figure out how to manipulate it. However the guys and gals that have been here a minute can see right through karma whoring. My advise is be as real as possible while protecting your identity. If you want to learn ask questions . Don't be afraid of a little flaming. If you can help some one out with solid advise do so. The community will pick up real quick on what kind of person you are regardless of how much karma you have.

I think the karma system is fine. I also think your reading to much in to the 28℅ that say it needs a redesign I bet any money a good 90% of people that have put that will be the guys with very low karma that can't get karma up (these are the same people that go nuts because all they want it for is for promos) and guys that get put in the - for posting up stupid shit. I think it's a pretty good points system tbf
I agree that it is a great system my only thing is guys getting 10 karma every time they post a couple of vials but it definitely works

I get what you mean IV seen a couple of guys post a self pic looking like absoloute crap and really shouldn't be running gear at the moment. Post up a couple vials of gear then the karma is up to 25 karma straight off. Can be a bit misleading because you think ahh they've got decent karma I'll take on board what they are saying then check there profile and realise theyve posted 2 comments on forums, one pic where they don't even lift and about 4 different delivery pics. I ALWAYS check the profile of the person I'm recieving info from.

That seems like legit karma to give, especially for new members. I'm talking about us with the adv, exp and guru tags and how we see guys like us getting karma for pretty basic posts.

Thats the other 28% that voted its based on popularity. I don't know if I believe that its really popularity because I see you and the others that got karma here put out valid points that in my opinion deserve the karma.

I've been at 1800 I have been knocked down two 400 then once I had it reset to zero.. point is if you help give solid advice you will gain karma and I've learned from zero karma to guru member
Its not really about the karma losing and gaining im discussing the way karma is rewarded like if a guy posts a gear pic every other week and he is a level 2 but has never wrote a meaningful forum or posted advice in the forums should he have that karma.

To me its neither here nor there. Im sure this would be a great site without it. I have talked to people with 20 karma who knew a hell of a lot more about what I was asking than some I've spoken with in the 200's. Your karma on this site cant measure your experiences in life. Sure it does help distinguish who has been around awhile. So does reading their profile In the short time I have been a member I have seen questions about things other than aas and more to do with life in general. You could have karma of 1 but be well versed in whatever that subject is. If you sound knowledgeable I will take that over 2k karma anytime.

Only time I really notice karma is in source reviews. When you see 10 guys in a row with 0-1 karma points talking how they've used a source for years, I get suspicious.
Yeah this is getting ridiculous in the review section with srcs having 15 reviews all by brand new accounts and some of them are cookie cutter scripted reviews. Very suspicious
Rosser01X2 also a lot of the reviews are total bullshit and tell you nothing about the product being reviewed, I was just reviewing a source about an hour ago and reading the reviews told me absolutely nothing about any of the products that I am looking to get, these are top 5 sources to, I know they are there for a reason but the reviews really do help a ton when wanting to try out a new and different product or source.
