Injections

Hello friends, I have a question on pinning in my leg. I seem to be bruising all the time in different areas on my thigh. Any thoughts about this?
Thanks

Thanks guys for all the awesome advice! Rustyhooker your the man brother, great links I looked up. The oils are good, I took your guys advice and heated up my thighs and my oils, used a 23g (I used a 25 and I started to sweat and shake because I took so freaking long!). I did sit down and started pinning slower if I hit a nerve I pulled out slow and pinned over. I was pinning with test 400 and bold 200, so that could have been why. But after taking your guys advice, I did stop bruising. Thanks again for all the great help.

CONGRATS! You're a beast, brother. I'm still planning on running your workout (that I've had copied on my computer for over a year) this spring after the holidays. When I log on here in 2018 and I'm cursing your name, don't take my sore muscles personally...

If you are bruising, my two cents is you need to put pressure on the injection site after pinning with an alcohol swab or cotton ball for about two minutes. It could be the same things happening after pulling blood where the area bruises due to the vein leaking blood into the local tissue area. BTW, I found the 24G to be the sweet spot large enough to push any oil, but small enough not to mind the pin.

Thanks for all the help guys. This just started recently. I use a 22g and now a 23g by 1”/1.5”. And still the same outcome. On this cycle I have introduced clenbuterol with my oils. Thinking this has something to do with it? Going to up my water intake by 25% and see if it helps. I don’t get any nots after just a quarter size bruise. I asked my doctor and they just seem clueless. Ask me does it hurt! No I tell them, ok your fine their response. Thanks doc!. Thanks again everyone for helping me out I will post and see if the clenbuterol/water is behind this.

Thats a decent site for finding spots to pin... just clean everything multiple times to be safe and pin slow. Try as the others are saying and try the area you are gonna work out.

Am i the only one who pins the muscle i am going to work that day? I see so many guys with all these diff pinning techniques....clean the spot, jab a 1in or 1.5in pin in you, push slow and wipe it with a swab after. Its not rocket science...lol

Makwa's picture

After hitting quads I like to get a leg workout in. Seems to help with any pip.

zeusmarada's picture

Makwa & Rage, do you lads work glutes on the day you pin glutes? (I've never tried this. Perhaps an experiment is in order for ol' ZeusM. Hmmm.) I've simply never considered this, so thank you both for your time and input.

rageracing's picture

Seeing as though i dont actually work glutes im gonna answer no....lol. i just try to work the muscke that i pinned that day. If i pin my delts, then im working delts or chest. If i pin glutes or quads its because im training legs or back....yes i said back. I do deads on my altenating back day so alot of glite does come into play. I honestly dont worry about it too much because pip is rare for me. The source i use is pretty on point with having painless gear.

zeusmarada's picture

Thanks Rage, for this input. Between you and Makwa, I'm going to go on your combined experience and try a delt workout when I start to incorporate delts as a site rotation. I've never done anything but glutes til now cuz I've never needed pinned more than 2ml a week (1ml test, 1ml primo). The day will come when this information will come in handy (aka-pin delts, work delts, pin quads, work legs, etc). Much appreciated.

I think this is super big here. Sure, we all get pip every once in a while, from hitting a weird spot in your quad or maybe you accidentally moved during the pin... but aside from compounds that are known for it (bold cyp, dhb, 400+ test and the like), if your gear is giving you pip, get new fucking gear! It's pretty easy to find clean, properly brewed pip free gear now.

I read guys on SI's that are complaining about brutal crippling pip... then they keep pinning it! WTF? That vial would go in the trash so fast the oil would evaporate by the time it hit the can.

rageracing's picture

Couldnt agree more bro. Some compounds just have pip no matter what....just the nature of the beast. Certain compounds just shouldnt hurt unless the stuff is brewed wrong or your allergic to something in the solution. Virgin muscle will give some guys probs too but that goes away with time. Honestly i feel spoiled because the gear i get is just straight up smooth

DfromPhilly's picture

Amen to that. I've been fortunate enough to pick my sources carefully and so far so good.

Makwa's picture

It is nice if glute injection fall on a leg day but I don't specifically plan on working legs if doing a glute injection since glute injects do cause me as much problems as quad injects. But when pinning quads, I plan a leg day for that day if I am pinning something other than just test e.

zeusmarada's picture

Thank you for the input! I've never yet pinned delts, but I'll be keeping this info in the back of my mind when I start incorporating those sites. Much appreciated!

rageracing's picture

Thats what im saying. I pin what im gonna train so the blood/pump helps the oil disperse

Makwa's picture

With compounds like DHB it seems like a must to workout the muscle you pinned or it lumps up. Work it out and no lumps and a lot less pip. Just test or EQ it doesn't matter if I work it out or not since stuff like that doesn't give me pip, but I figure if it does magic with DHB it can't hurt to do it with other compounds as well. The extra bloodflow to the muscle must help dissipate that big bolus of oil so it just doesn't sit there and cause problems.

Carlos Danger's picture

Yeah anything with guaiacol for me causes knots in my muscle. Not so much pip but definite knots and slight swelling. DHB or other oils with guaiacol wasn’t worth the hassle for me. DHB works great but it gives me a slight SEO look that I wasn’t fond of

Makwa's picture

I remember a jab of DHB I did in my delt awhile ago. Looked like I had a golfball in there. Had to keep a shirt on that week cause it looked silly with one delt bigger than the other. Must not have done delts on the day of that jab.

rageracing's picture

Should have split the injection up between both your delts ;)

Weird, can't say I've ever had a single bruise from an IM injection. Quads are my favorite site to pin. Never get pip.

Dr.BroScience's picture

Not being a pro nor a daily injector , I avoid quad injections all together. Of all practical injection spots there is no denser muscle, with more veins, and nerve ending then in your quad. To me its not worth the risk.

rageracing's picture

The risk of what?

Cummin apart's picture

That's seems to be the case with me!
About 1 out of 5 injections in the quads I'll hit a nerve! Friggin sucks

rageracing's picture

I do that on my arms...lol

Cummin apart's picture

Lol! I got a couple of freckles I use as reference points as well!

I pin quads quite frequently. My favorite site. Be sure to be sitting down and relax muscle while pinning. I use a 25 gauge and inject very slowly.. be sure to massage muscle after. Very minimal/no pip by doing so for me. Have a good one brother.

I think massaging can cause some damage big guy, the compound crystalizes. I've read post on this but to each is their own.

That turned out a lot cleaner than where I thought you were going! Lol

stairmaster's picture

I would stop pinning in your legs. Thats a muscle group where you get often the worst pip, hit easily a nerve or get an infection.

Bearded_muscle's picture

Interesting you mention the infection risk. I remember watching an interview with an ER doc about steroid induced infections/abscess and he was saying that quads and glutes very rarely caused problems while arm/delt shots in his experience were the most likely to require surgery.

Jayzgainz's picture

Do you bruise easily anyway? Do you take a good multivitamin so you are getting enough vitamin C, K ,iron etc...

Where are you pinning in the leg? Have you picked pinned previously or is this first time? What size needles are you using? What % body fat are you?

Where are you hitting the quads at? Outer(towards hip) , center or inner?
