+ 2 Immune system, gear and corona (Update)

ad

So i know the world is currently busy with the chaos corona is causing, how it affects old people and people with bad immune system..

So my thought here arent people who are on gear their immune system is greatly decreased???

I researched a bit when we are using gear, our body is fighting the substances thus reducing its immune system greatly, how low is our immune system is while on gear? that is the question..

One of the biggest examples is when i used to inject test solo, i used to get a pip and test flu, my body will be fighting it and i will instantly get sick/flu, because my immune system is busy fighting it leaving the body severly exposed...
I honestly dont believe the % researchers and media is giving of people dying from it... ive seen live videos in iran where hundreds of dead people are laying on the streets and their hospitals are just full of dead bodies.
Do not underistimate this and believe the media folks.

All im saying is stay safe guys, and if u are planning a cycle i would wait a little till things get better.

Updated: a small video released today, Thanks Pale

Realistically it is not going away. It is going to pass around the entire population. It is already too far spread to contain.

TheFlash85's picture

Do you think there is any worries with injecting gear from china??

My last few packs have been held in quarantine for 2 weeks due to corona before moving.

I think it would be fine but talking to my misses she insisted i ask one of the " bosses " on my site.

Ozninjaguy's picture

Mate, I'm pretty certain your gear would be safe. No doubt it was made before the CV outbreak, and the virus can't survive outside a host for more than a few hours, so handling the package should be fine - but always err on the side of caution - wipe it down with some alcohol and wash your hands after opening it and before handling the vials.

Bulkdaddy's picture

I thought I saw somewhere the virus can live up too 14 days outside of a host. I could be wrong.

Ozninjaguy's picture

Actually I posted my comment based upon the general lifespan of similar viruses. According to the WHO it can live for 'several days' (whatever that is), thus my advice to wipe down packages and wash hands after opening and as an afterthought, wipe down those vials with alcohol as well.

thats what governments don't understand about viruses , throwing money at it will not make it go away.

Viruses are intelligent living organisms , it will mutate and evolve anyway it has to so it can accomplish the mission mother nature has set out for it.

No amount of quarantine is going to fix this one.

That lawyer in New York city, His wife and two kids all have it now and the guy that drove him to the airport is positive as well. Now we have all dealt with flu in our families and usually one maybe two of a 4-5 member family get sick with flu, but not all of them. This dude was also in his law office and a jewish temple. People are transmitting before they ever know they have it. Week two is when it can turn deadly. Especially for those over 60 or with compromised immune systems. Boomer-pocalypse

IrishMack's picture

Lmfao I'm stealing that boomer-pocalypse. But seriously it's not funny and you are correct

Immortaltech's picture

I just heard news, its in the city i live 1.5km away from me... 3 people in quarantaine, one of them used to go to the gym i train at...
And the other is a child at little sister's school, 300m away from me...

Well, testosterone at least at pharmaceutical doses is an immunomodulator, not immunosuppressive. If you're worried, lower your dose. If you're a hypochondriac like me, check out this coronavirus map and see if there's any outbreaks in your city.

BJ's picture

https://youtu.be/pCEhXUpNZQk

This short video touches on that subject!

Ozninjaguy's picture

Actually Testosterone may be an immunomodulator but that is only in relation to certain aspects of the immune system, and is suppressive of other aspects of the immune system. Immunomodulator does not mean stimulant, it just means that it has an effect on the immune system. As far as I can find there are no articles citing exogenous use of Testosterone's effects on the immune system, so I wouldn't be expecting a pharmaceutical dose, TRT dose, or any dose of Testosterone to have a bolstering effect on my immune system, and particularly when it comes to fighting viruses.

Here is an article about it's immunomodulator effect - the study has a number of limitations - which they acknowledge, and it's fairly in-depth but it's worth a read:
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5075254/

vengar's picture

Here's a real study done on healthy males, not subjects who are pathologically stressed: https://www.nature.com/articles/s41598-018-25694-0.pdf?origin=ppub

previous correlational studies have mostly focused on a single immune function and one or two androgen fractions. Furthermore, the authors did not control common immunomodulatory factors such as participants age, adiposity, or general health status, as measured by basic biomedical indicators (e.g.)20–22

They debunked the Standford study, the studies on birds, as well as the one's done on people with immunological disorders. Exogenous testosterone enhanced immune function in reptiles fed a proper diet.

experimental work in a reptile model showing that immune function is enhanced when exogenous testosterone is paired with food supplementation,(Ruiz et al. 2010)
_
Our results show that men with higher levels of fT produce more specifcanti-infuenza antibodies in response vaccination. This finding is similar to those obtained by Rantala et al.20,who found a positive relationship between total testosterone levels and immune response to hepatitis B vaccination.

Ozninjaguy's picture

You are cherry-picking. From the abstract of the same real study - "Since the hormone-immune
relationship is complex and may depend on multiple factors, including access to food resources,
androgens should be treated as immunomodulators rather than implicit immunosuppressants." Pretty much what I said, and btw - we are mammals - not reptiles, so your comment is both irrelevant and interesting. Interesting because you use a reptile study to support your argument, but dismiss bird studies - from an evolutionary point of view, birds and reptiles are closely related.

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/26800512

vengar's picture

Then why are you posing links that say testosterone is an immunosuppressant. This from the link you just posted.

The results from the experimental studies showed that testosterone had a medium-sized immunosuppressive effect on immune function.

Bird studies are flawed because they only tested 1 or 2 cytokines, not because they were birds, you'd know that if you looked into things. You're original link is also flawed because it was done on people who were already infected with a virus.

My argument is it's not suppressive, it modulates. Anyone on TRT should not have to worry about being any more prone to flu, and evidence supports a positive immune response.

If anyone's cherry picking it's you.

Ozninjaguy's picture

you'd know that if you looked into things

I'm happy to stack my academic qualifications up against yours any day of the week, chum. I posted that article to show you that there is research that refutes that it has a positive effect - which you were claiming, and posted some research to allegedly support your claim. Now you are stating that you said all along it modulates. Make up your mind. Also, the evidence as you call it, only talks about naturally occurring free Testosterone levels, not free Testosterone levels as a result of exogenous administration of Testosterone. Believe what you want, Dude. You are inconsequential.

vengar's picture

Your really grasping at straws now. No wonder your 0-3 in this thread and resulting to name calling. Positive effect equates to "more specifcanti-infuenza antibodies in response vaccination" and the balancing/modulating of T-cells, not immune system stimulation. This is obviously over your head.
https://www.jimmunol.org/content/186/9/5162

Ozninjaguy's picture

Snore...what part of 'inconsequential' don't you understand? Have an adult or significant other explain it to you.

Still waiting for you to post up your academic qualifications since you seem to think you are the most intelligent person on Eroids, and that I know nothing. BTW - It's you who insulted me in the first place by your inference that I can't read/understand research papers. So, don't be a tiny whiny bitch about insults.

I generally only waste 30 seconds on fools and dolts, but I made an exception for you, since you are both. But now you bore me, so I'm not wasting any more time...

..and at least have the balls to post some pics of yourself you pathetic wannabe.

Run along now you annoying little assumptive Millennial. Bye-bye.

vengar's picture

It's you who insulted me in the first place

No, I didn't. I said you need to look into things, implying you didn't thoroughly read that article, that's apparent by your rebuttals. It was you who made yourself look stupid.

you seem to think you are the most intelligent person on Eroids

Again, no. I do know a lot about the immune system because I have an ai disease. Been through hell and back and insults don't phase me.

So, don't be a tiny whiny bitch about insults.

I'm not, you're the one having an emo meltdown. I've been calm the whole time defending my initial comment.

at least have the balls to post some pics of yourself you pathetic wannabe.

Once I'm cleared for exercise, I'll get some pics up. But I don't think having an opinion on this site requires you posting a pic with your shirt off, listing your college credentials and being born before 1980.

Have a good one!

Ozninjaguy's picture

Bahahaha!...'cleared for exercise'...aaaww, really diddums? Don't want to take your shirt off you sad little Milly? WTF are you doing on a bodybuilding forum, you pathetic excuse for a man? Getting your jollies pretending you are something that you are not? Yep. That's about right.

My wife asked me why I was up so late last night. "Arguing with some jerk on Eroids," I replied. "Is he important enough to lose sleep over?" she asked.

Great point from the little woman - I'm done with you maggot.

Great to see ya

Ozninjaguy's picture

Hey mate...good to hear from you. Doing ok, just got back from a short trip to Oz for my 65th b/d and some family bonding - none of us are getting any younger. I hope you, and your family, are all doing well.

TheFlash85's picture

Sounds good mate!
Im better than i was, finally getting back to my old self.
Starting a tren cycle next week i figure mentally if i can cope with that im back lol.
Likewise and back at you.
Cheers!

Pale's picture

Stay off the goddamn tren Flash..

Ozninjaguy's picture

Flash is my friend and has been a supportive guy, so I said nothing. Thank you for saying something that I didn't feel entitled to say. Tren is a poison for the body and mind.

TheFlash85's picture

Means alot mate.

Pale's picture

I love Flash and we go back our entire time here on Eroids, he is already a wildcard and the last thing he needs is mind altering tren.

Thanks pale.
Appreciate ya.

DfromPhilly's picture

I googled it today just out of curiosity...

6 people died so far in the US from corona virus

To put it in perspective, 20 people died via lightning strike in all of 2019... More than triple US corona fatalities. Corona virus is a pussy.

Honestly I wish it was more aggressive and half as crazy as they’re making it out to be... we need a good plague.

Greg's picture

You're missing the point.

The virus is several times more contagious than the flu.
There are only about 100 cases in the US.
9 deaths.
That's a 9% corona mortality rate in the US. Compare that to .01% mortality rate for the flu.

Even if you average that down to the 5% in Wuhan, with the same 9.7 million US flu cases, that's 485,000‬ deaths compared to the flu's 4,800 deaths in 2020.

Now imagine 20 million infected but only 2% mortality rate (400,000). Or 40 million cases at 2% (800,000 deaths) That's the equivalent of 20 small towns across the country completely eliminated, or two larger cities like Las Vegas and Saint Paul...

DfromPhilly's picture

Dude where are you getting these numbers? Everything I’ve hear was between a 1% and 1.4% mortality rate, and it’s mostly old people from what I understand. It was litterally just 6 deaths when I looked it up yesterday and a FEW hundred in America. Clearly we’re getting our facts from different places

Edit. This article says 9 out of 126 now.
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cbsnews.com/amp/live-updates/coronaviru...

All old people. Old people die if you bump into them too hard.

Corona virus is a pussy. I’m not buying it.

But for serious, there’s too many people so I honestly hope it is a real threat. Literally every environmental problem we have would be solved by less people.

disclaimer: I don’t watch the news and I don’t read news sites. I get all of my info from what people tell me or if I happen to look something up about what someone told me. I am very happily ignorant to what’s going on in the world. The news does nothing but bum me out so I cut it out of my life years ago.

TheFlash85's picture

Its closer to 4percent from W.H.O.
Dont talk it up mate you might end up being one who dies from it then whos a pussy.
I think your missing the serious nature.
Throwing money? Look at the figures, no one puts up billions for nothing, if anything its more serious and dangerous than were being told rather than less.

You sound like a fucking pilek cunt saying people need to be wiped out.

Go jump off a cliff and do your bit then.

You look like a fool writing this.
You actually made me shitty. Actual.

DfromPhilly's picture

Shit sucks when it hits home doesn’t it?

Calm down dude I explained below I’m mostly joking. I don’t want anyone to suffer. And yea, if I get it and die I’ll feel pretty silly. But I’m not old and I’m healthy so that won’t happen.

Ps I can thumbs down too... ask me if i give a fuck...

Right back at ya handsome...

TheFlash85's picture

Lol.

DfromPhilly's picture

Lmao.

Greg's picture

Dude where are you getting these numbers?

Math. You should google that at some point.

Your statistical argument is flawed. We are not on the cusp of a lightning pandemic.

This is more like allowing one pre cancerous mole turn into full blown melanoma. The US is full of boomers in their 60's and older. A pox on your house if you don't think this "pussy virus" is not a serious threat to our society and economy.

DfromPhilly's picture

So i did some actual reading, as apposed to blindly going off of what I hear people talking about or telling me (how i normally get my world news).

And i DO think it's going to impact our economy. Mostly because people are overreacting to it and shit is shutting down because of it. (they just cancelled the arnold btw and that sucks...)

At the end of the day tho, the kill rate is under 2%, and they think it's really closer to 1%. Just like the flu, if you're not old or have some underlying condition, you're gonna be just fine. The swine flu (h1n1) was more deadly, and all that did was give me a real high fever and give me a week off from work.

Threat to society? not so much... c'mon man. I was mostly joking about all of that shit I was saying, but I truly do believe there are too many people, and that our best hope for the survival of our species is for about 25% of our population to be wiped out by something. I think our society will be just fine if we lose a couple thousand people.

And I do think it's fair to compare it to other shit. At the end of the day it's something that can kill people. It's never gonna kill as many people a smoking tho, and you don't see people shutting down whole cities because they sell cigarettes. I get it, people don't want to be sick, but people don't want to get hit by a car either. shit happens.

https://www.theatlantic.com/health/archive/2020/02/covid-vaccine/607000/

It clearly is going to spread very quickly, but it also doesn't seem like it's going to go anywhere. According to these scientist, they think it's going to be "cold, flu and corona" season from now on, instead of "cold & flu season" every year. It may actually be something we all have to learn to live with and a new normal. And if it's a new normal, then we need to deal with it and not shut shit down out of fear that you might get the sniffles.

I don't think it's a reason to freak out. I think it's a reason to be healthy and hygienic, just like the flu, and I think the only reason it's gonna effect our economy is because the news is saying the sky is falling.

i don't know what the fuck i'm talking about when it comes to world news/politics, so take this all with a grain of salt. it's just my take on it.

Ozninjaguy's picture

I truly do believe there are too many people, and that our best hope for the survival of our species is for about 25% of our population to be wiped out by something.>

Put your hand up to be one of them. I plussed you a few times on a comment you made a few days ago. I regret that, because your abject ignorance is an affront to my intelligence.

DfromPhilly's picture

lol I get it Oz. I'm mostly joking with all the shit i'm talking... but i do believe what you just highlighted. there's too many people man. I would seriously be willing to be one of them too. I've had a decent life, and I want my nephews to have a sustainable world to live in. There's just too many of us, man. The things they have to do to feed us all are ridiculous, and the pollution caused from it all... no good. There are barely enough fish left in the ocean. Look that up. It's a serious problem. They have to essentially poison our food in America just to make sure there's enough of it.

I don't normally say too many controversial things, and this is really the only area that I tend to ruffle any feathers or piss people off in life, but they have no solution to the amount of people on this earth and what it's doing to the environment. we're going to wipe ourselves out. No one wants to hear it, because no one wants themselves or any of their friends or family to go... And I get that... I don't want anyone to suffer, but the reality is there are just too many god damn people for us to last much longer as a species.

I hope they figure out alternatives, but they haven't yet.

If there was a disease that caused no suffering, no death, and caused no symptoms, but it made 25-30% of the population sterile, we'd be in a much better place 40-50 years from now, than we'd be if we keep going like we are. That would be the perfect solution in my eyes.

I know it's shitty to say, but I believe that it's the truth.

Ozninjaguy's picture

PS - It's all too easy to say you would put your hand up to sacrifice yourself for the 'greater good' - but when it really came down to the wire and you realised that your death would be quite inconsequential in the scheme of things - I'm betting that you would have a change of heart.
