help with cholesterol

ad

What's up everyone,
So had a health screening at work this past week.
My ldl came back at 232 while hdl was only at 34.
Only about 6 months ago my ldl was around 170 while hdl was around 70.
Now this is not good.
Been on trt for around 3 yrs. Stupid story and a mistake but I have self medicated the whole time.
Diet isn't really that bad. Mon-fri pretty good. Take food to work. Chicken, yogurt, peanut butter, fruits and so on. Weekends do drink and diet changes a Lil but not much. Take fish oil 3x/day Ect..
I know first answer would be to go to the Dr. And I will set that up.
I know that test can lower your hdl by itself due to estro sides.
Really looking for help on any info or suggestions someone can pass on to me.
I WOULD LISTEN TO WHST EVER INFO IS OUT THERE. REALLY LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO HAS TRULY BEEN IN THE GAME FOR AWHILE (A PRO) TO REALLY STEER ME DOWN THE RIGHT PATH.
Thank you for your time.

I know this is a bit different but I read up a bit on various anti-estrogens and ai's as I often get gyno flare-ups. Quite a few studies support Nolvadex/Tamoxifen lowering cholesterol. http://www.cancernetwork.com/review-article/risks-and-benefits-tamoxifen...

Obviously you have to weigh up the pros and cons.

I also take niacin myself (not the flush-free stuff as that's apparently less effective).

TheFlash85's picture

Niacin flush is quickest and most effective, im not a fan but it does work. Clean diet full of anti oxidants is best. Vit e, milk thistle etc

fusebox's picture

Only downfall is niacin can raise blood pressure significantly and if we're dealing with seriously high cholesterol I'd be careful. I completely agree with everything else though. Fat thumbed a neg so I fixed it. Welcome back

TheFlash85's picture

Exactly why i said im not a fan and i dont practice it, the " tingling " feeling people describe is actually the blood capillaries dialating and it causes hot flushes and reddening of the skin, cant be to healthy for people but i guess if cholesterol is brutal bad it is a quick fix, and thanks mate, good to be back, number 1 aussie on number 1 forum world wide! Bhahahahahaha. Hope you are well mate.

Thank you for this info!!!

No problem mate,

I haven't heard of that before buddy sorry, but if you can find information on it and seems to be OK then I would give it a try if you think you will benefit from it

Everything said about blood work should come first mate but research these that I use.

• choline and inositol 3000mg blast for 30 days then 1500my maintenance dose for as long as you like.

• l-methionine 1500mg for the 30day blast then 750mg maintenance dose after.

This combination of supplements will clear your liver of any fat being stored (fatty liver) with in turn will help lower your cholesterol levels.

Also I think the orals and masteron have played a big part.
Hope this helps buddy

Thank you bud.
I will def research these supps and see what I can do.
Have you ever heard of diatomaceuos earth food grade?
Met a guy at the gym. Worked out few times with him. Looked like he has been in the game for awhile if you know what I mean. He swore by detoxing your body so in part you will absorb more of the nutrients you need instead of them going to waste.
He told me about this product and he swears by it. It flushes out your intestines/stomach so you can obsorb more. Researched and placed an order. Hopefully with this and the supps being recommended will be a huge help.

Posted a pic of myself on napsgear page.
Just finished some mast/test e. Ive heard mast can increase cholesterol.
Self medicating 200mg/wk split Mon/Thurs.
I play ball so when I have something coming up I increase to 300mg few weeks before. Will also add orop for a week leading up to. Also on modafinil 100mg/day. Will have days in between I don't depending on work or life.
I do take supps and recently looked into polyphenols for cholesterol and heart health.
Huge point here. I was a addict for years but clean for last 10. With that being said I notice I will abuse as,at times.
I tend to have orals around so I will say fuck it and add to get something extra.
Only been a week but so worried fuck that shit.

When you say orals, that is a huge red flag to me. What orals have you been using? Many of them can have a huge impact on lipids. Also SARMS can as well.

Also, you're changing shit and adding in various compounds and drugs so frequently that its hard to narrow it down. consider this a wake up call and stop using tons of drugs, stay consistent and FIND a DOCTOR to get your shit straightened out. We are not doctors and even if there were some one here, as I said, you're taking way too much shit anyways.

I agree 100%
Seen so much death I don't want to be next.
Orals
Dbol
Halo
Oral tren before but not in awhile
Winny.

Been dbol and halo lately for when I play ball.
Just stupid shit.

have you tracked your micronutrients? if so whats your vitamin E and C intake per day?

also. I support what MedDx is suggesting as well.

Full stats will help and what is your self medicated TRT regimen? Have you taken anything else in the last 6 months? Agree with MedDx below. Need those additional tests.

Test24's picture

Last 6 months a Lil bit of the stuff I posted above along with just being dumb with my test doses.
I also stated I have toned it down last month 1/2 due to trying to get things together to try for another baby. So test doses have been low.

Test does not lower HDL due to estro sides. It's (likely) the increased ratio of test/estrogen that alters hepatic cholesterol metabolism/synthesis.

I don't know anything about your history to help here. Age, family history, risk factors (I can assume AAS use), length of time on AAS, which AAS used, aromatase inhibitors used, etc.

There are familial (inherited/genetic) cholesterol disorders as well. The best known medication for hyperlipidemia is typically a statin. Your doc will decide if this is appropriate for you. As far as over the counter things to help I would go for Red Yeast Rice extract. Pretty sure that's been shown to be the best for lowering LDL. Niacin can raise HDL but it needs to be immediate release, can elevate LFTs, and is not usually tolerated very well (severe flushing, GI upset, headaches).

Thanks for the info bud.
Not heart issues on mothers side. Father mentioned something about heart issues on his side but we haven't had a relationship in 28yrs so not sure exactly what.
Ai- adex, exemestane.
Honestly about last month or so after last test/mast run I have tried to get off test. Dropped it lower n lower. Wife and I wanted to try for another baby. I created a forum few weeks back on what I can do to at least give myself a shot at it after 3 yrs on. Because of this I havent needed ai.

Gh0st's picture

Hey Rust. Current research actually only supports immediate release niacin (preferred over 1.5g spread throughout the day) will have any effect on raising HDL.

Yep, lipids can become unbalanced when using AAS. HCG helps. There is research out there on line about how HCG helps lipids, which might be worth looking into. Nolva can help with lipids too. You need a PSA, Thyroid panel, SHBG, and free test along with a female hormone panel...

X2

Definitely more tests needed. I'm keen to know the full self medicated TRT protocol the OP is following and if he's been on anything else over the last 6 months.

MedDx's picture

X2.. agreed..

Test24's picture

Have hcg on hand and nolva on the way.
I will get test and post results with a week or 2. I'm sure Dr. Will tell me what I need to do not knowing im on test. Any feed back on results would be great.
Thank you

sure Dr. Will tell me what I need to do not knowing im on test.

Its crazy that you don't mention it on the "down low" to the doc, though...
