Heading to Vietnam

Hey boys I'm headed to vietnam for 3 weeks after Christmas and was wondering if anyone has experience buying gear there. Can you get it over the counter like Thailand?

Vietnam’s regulations differ from Thailand’s, so gear isn’t as readily available over the counter. You may find some in pharmacies, but quality and legality vary. Research local laws carefully to avoid complications. Enjoy your trip, and stay safe!
Can’t comment on the gear situation as I hadn’t gotten into it yet when I was there but I think you’ll have a great time. The food is incredible and cheap and the people are friendly, especially in the south. My advice is to buy a scooter (should only be a couple hundred $US) and go off the beaten path some to smaller cities and towns. Don’t hang out too much with the ex-pats, a lot of them will try to rip you off somehow. And try not to get too pissed when you inevitably get scammed because the cops will backup vitnamese nationals for any kind of petty thievery or hustle 100% of the time, they may even be getting a cut. Hope you enjoy yourself over there, I liked it the most out of all of the asian countries I’ve been too and hope to go back in the next few years.

They've opened up quite a bit. Lots of Aussies out there. Becoming westernized to a degree. Much better than it use to be for tourism. Enjoy!
Yea you can get gear otc in Vietnam, just making sure you know what your asking for and don't look so stupid touristy like.
Flip flops, simple shirt will do just fine..

Vietnam is allot more stricked then Thailand in terms of fun.
On the other hand food is amazing, the street pho #1 and like a doller or so.

Vietnam is a communist country. I don't know much about it over there except what a few Vietnamese friends have told me and gear never came up, but communist talk always does. I would just be careful because who knows what communist policies are concerning stuff like that. I'm sure a quick internet search would get you more info.
I hope Vietnam treats you like Thailand treats Americana influencers are flooding over there and almost everyone is jacked bc you can get it over the counter but also there's a ton of what's the word ladyboys lol and the cost of living is super cheap

One of my college buddies had syphillis for so long untreated his hands literally began to peel like snake skin pure raw it was SO nasty. Went to ER we thought he was dying.
