Gay Weights

ad

Yes, leave to me to be politically incorrect. I am actually the guy at the gym using the Gay Weights. Thing is I look like I can bench 500lbs and have all my shit popping off(at the same time).

I touched on another great Forum on Winny which noted "joint dryness" as a result of using the compound. Stan is great, but back to Gay Weights. This joint topic prompted me take ten minutes to post some information for the guy or gal that is in this for life.

Years of heavy weights are going to take a toll. Put down the ego and pick up a lighter bell. Move that weight like you mean it! Think that muscle and pause, pause at the top, the bottom and pause in the middle. Don't cheat! Rest periods are for when you get home! Sure sometimes I still trip on my 275 max bench but I can pop ten super clean reps.

My best bench was 405 no juice but I weighed 245 and looked like shit. I am 218 today and turn heads for a 48 year old.....I am one bad MF'er! The trouble with that 405 BP is my shoulder has never been the same. The pretty numbers that no one cares about but your ego can fuck you off.

Train smart my Bro's & Sisters.

I never get under a weight that I am not sure that I can lift. I never need a spotter, I know when to cut sets. I don't have to amp myself up to do a heavy set. I work with a weight and range that I know I can lift with good form without grinding reps. I have done this for the past eight months and have made tremendous gains in strength. I spotted a dude this weekend on his first set. He literally slapped on 225, asked me if I could spot him. And bounced two reps off his chest, then grinded out a a super slow 3rd rep with the left side of the bar much lower than the right. I guess he just wanted to make sure I saw him bench 225, since I was next to him benching a measly 205 (however, for sets of super fast and smooth 6 reps, not to mention keeping the damn bar level.)

I'm all about form brother... I watch youngsters doing curls with their shoulders all day long! The true mark of discipline is understanding ur goals and knowing (and doing) what is necessary to reach them. EGO is for the time in between workouts ; )

*Also as a reminder, when u start cycle u really need to compensate joints and tendons with muscle strength. Ur muscles will be willing to do alot more work than ur joints and tendons so PAY ATTENTION to ur body!

Great post bud. Its not about how much you can bench. Its about how much you look like you can bench.

I too have joint issues especially my right elbow , I dislocated it back in the day and its never been the same. But I totally agree with you on lighter weights because its all about FORM when ur lifting. I rather have perfect form using lighter weights than struggling with heavy weights!

I'm a young guy but I definitely agree on this one. It's really about how YOU look and feel about your body, not how OTHERS see it really. Who cares if someone calls you a wimp for lifting lighter weights? If you're satisfied with your build, that's all you need.

Joint problems are NOT something to take lightly. I played waterpolo competitively for a long time, and I had to get 2 rotator cuff surgeries. After that, I never try to lift to heavy, but I always try to lift RIGHT. It's really important to be lifting smart and correctly, NOT for boasting purposes.
