+ 1 Free Diet Apps for Gaining weight

ad

Does anyone know of or use any good Android Apps on their phone to help them gain weight?

I am desperate to get from just over 200lb's to 220 and was wondering if there is much out there that can help to do this, some days I can be quite disciplined in eating more than usual and other days I know I am short on calories but not sure by how much. I've never used anything like that before.

I find https://www.eatthismuch.com pretty inspirational

@BFG Have you any experience with Video Editing software at all? Do you happen to know what programmes people are using when posting video's up on Youtube? Cheers Smile

I have been editing for a long time. I started with the free windows movie maker. Ended up getting really good with it. I edited MMA sports videos. Filters, transitions, effects, music. Learned one of the most important things is to make sure the music corresponds with the video. So for example if there's a "boom!" Type sound in the song to maybe do a flash effect and show a highlight of right as a fighter gets hit. Or the crowd jumps and cheers . But I used the window movie maker so long that I never switched to anything else lol. Now, this only works for my style of videos. But some videos did really well with over 2 million views. I believe when I retired the channel I had 13k subscribers. In the world of YouTube that's not much. But for a guy having fun on his laptop and who's dumb AF as BFG so eloquently called me below.... as a hobby it's really not bad.

I do editing on my phone now. A paid ap called GLITCH CAM (yes it's really called that lol) . I record my workouts and edit them now. Have a new channel dedicated to just me training people and making highlights/educational workout videos of myself. Glitch can can make you look like you're a pro editor. Look at ME LOL

@Glitch Damn just seen this buddy!! So you use iMovie as well then? Damn thats wicked mate! Wanna fly over and coach me on it? LMAO 13k subscribers is pretty good pal, I think its 1000 isn't it before you can start to claim commissions and things and a certain amount of watching hours on your videos? Did you see any commissions then on those vids with a few million views because thats right up there isn't it!! Did you get the Youtube picture for the wall?

So what would you recommend to do at first just to get comfortable with it - shoot some video then import it and have a play around? As you can see I am a complete beginner here Smile

The footage wasn't owned by me. It was owned by zuffa. So I couldn't make money from it. I just enjoyed it. Depends on what kind of videos you want to edit. Workout videos? You can take hd footage and download it. That's what I did. Downloaded UFC fights and then made them into a cinematic style presentation. Now my new channel is dedicated to my own videos. You can monetize those once you hit a thousand subs. There's lots of apps for your phone were you can edit what you record right there. Glitch cam is my go to. You can download the free version. Or just start with a window movie maker. Start with something that's free. Record a workout session or two. Then watch the tutorial on the app. You'd be surprised at how easy it truly is

press1's picture

Okay this is something I wanted to ask you about actually - So where you see guys commenting on others peoples videos or using any part of someone else's video does that mean you cannot monetize it then? I often watch a lot of vids where its someone connecting a load of other lifting videos together than commenting on them. They are basically earning no commission off this then? How do people like Greg Douccette or MPMD's do it then as his videos often include other peoples footage such as Larry Wheels? So this Glitch cam is your own software that you have copyrighted and written?

Nah, it's a coincidence that it's called glitch cam. It's just a phone app. Here's a link that explains how you can use other people's videos. The footage I was showing was actual UFC footage. Certain things like sports such as ppv footage isn't supposed to be free to use unless the people who own it show it. You ever try to catch a fight that was on ppv the night before? You can find them but they get taken down quickly. But if you're commenting on let's say one of Eddie halls workouts (I remember you were a fan of his) that's different. I don't fully understand it. But if you want to actually make videos with you talking you probably want to get a good camera and mic. But if you just want to make cool videos you can use a free app on your phone or computer.

Yes that makes sense now - I see where you are coming from. Using actual TV footage is totally different compared to someone's personal footage. I don't feel there is any use in filming myself training or giving advice as there are loads of more experienced guys doing this and also proper coaches. I have a few ideas on things I'd like to do. Have you got involved with any of this Patreon link stuff where people make live donations to you?

I think a lot of them use a third party to do it properly Scratch one-s head

Maybe so @press1, but I imagine the popular tools used by content creator available today are designed for amateur editors, should be easy to learn. I mean, check out @Glitch 's profile pic, he dumb af but managed to do something that looks kinda cool Smile
You thinking bout starting a yt channel?

press1's picture

@BFG HAHAHAHA Lol Its funny you should mention Youtube creator as I had a look at that yesterday. The main software editors use seems to be Premier Pro but for a total novice it looks quite complicated at first, I downloaded iMovie which is more beginner level and had a play with that yesterday. Its one of those things where I wish I knew someone who was proficient with it then I could sit down and learn something in 2 hours that would probably take 10 by myself lol I can get round a computer 'okay' but am in no way a Tech guy. For the past 2 or 3 years mate I have been meaning to get involved in it as I am constantly watching people with basically the same passions as us earning really good incomes just making videos on something they love doing. I appreciate there is a lot of work involved in it and you have to find a way of getting into the algorithm of the site & software but it seems crazy to not give it a go when there are clearly many guys doing well on it.

Hey, I appreciate the insulment man. An insulment is when you compliment and insult someone at the same time.

BFG's picture

i see what you did there and it's glorious

Glitch's picture

In Canada they call it a complisult.

That's really interesting actually - quite amazing some of the meals it comes up with, a lot of the main meals have around 50g protein in them too! Lots of different smoothie suggestions with whey protein added also.

LMAO I do the McDougles diet occasionally but tend to stick with McChicken sandwiches or Filet o Fishes. The UK versions of a burger tend to be pretty bad compared to the US.

It’s not free but I use carbon diet coach for my macro/calorie tracking and coaching. It’s like 10 bucks a month but when I want to lose (I’m currently on a cut) I lose exactly what I expect to lose and when I gain I gain exactly what I expect

press1's picture

Sounds great bud - do you have to input the foods you like to eat and desired weight gain?

I track everything I eat and I put my weight in every day. I have a weight goal and I’m expected to progress towards that goal every week at the rate I select. So I’m on a cut now and the rate of that cut is 1.5lbs per week until I reach 240. So if the week goes by and on average I lost only a pound, then the app would reduce my calories until I begin to lose at 1.5lbs per week. The opposite is true as well.

This is some good info. ++
