I am doing my first show in May and have some questions. Can anyone give me an idea of what to expect and little details that people don't usually think about? From things I need to bring, best hair removal and tanning? Any input would be great. It's an NPC show.

phil113kgQuestion; are you going there alone or with someone who has some sort of experience with shows? It's always good to have someone with you to make you feel that you are not alone. Events like these can be very intimidating and can either give you a good experience or the opposite. Be ready to wait, wait and wait some more depending how big your show is. I remember having to wait till my category was about to be up next. During that time stress levels can wreak havoc on your condition by hiding your lines with water. So my best advice for you is to relax and try to keep you legs elevated. That will help keep the water from forming in the legs. Also wear something warm so you feel relaxed and not feel cold. If your body senses that you are cold at such low body fat levels then it will trigger several responses that will keep you from looking your best. Also bring along some honey or something sweet to have just before your number is called. This will help bring out the veins and give
you that bit of a flush feeling. You will see many guys there that might have more experience than you and you will begin to ask yourself if you are ready. It's natural but don't let you mind go there. It will cause you to doubt yourself and self confidence goes along way. Plus it will keep the cortisol levels in check. Take along several towels cause you will need them. If you have headphones the bring them along with music that is soothing not rock and roll. You will be in a delicate state so it will not do you any good to listen to something hard. All these things I mentioned will keep your cortisol levels in check because it will determine the outcome of your physic. Apply the first coat of tanning color 24 hours before the day of the show. You would want a base coat to start with. Oh another thing about staying warm; were flip flops or house shoes to keep you feet warm. The pump up area is going to be cold. I hope I didn't miss anything. Wish you all the luck.
There is only one Viking in the Phonebook. Hit him up when he gets back around. He would be an excellent resource.
Talk to klaydo he is prepping right now. Or also bodybuilder I beleive.
Congrats! I'm thinking of a show this year and started researching. Lots of info on the NPC site. Start here, and look around the rest of the site.
