+ 67 Fake Votes, My investigation of crooked sources!
upon my arrival, after many a day off, I found myself confronted with a great opportunity. It wasnt the first time it had happened, but back when the board was in its infancy it was expected. Sources would do just about anything for a vote and review and many of them where votes made by the source themselves. I spoke with BFG about it a couple times back then, and while it seemed like it was unbreakable there was some changes being made. Fast forward some time and the board has had a facelift or two and things are much more in control, it appears there is some no-nonsense MODs and some quality sources in the rankings, reviews look much better then they ever have and for the most part there is a high success rate of packs and happy customers.
So why am I being asked if I want some free gear if id be willing to review and vote?
Like a member who actually cares about the integrity of the ranking system and the value of not having to just "hope" that the money I just sent off will actually get me a pack and it will be real. If you have been around here long enough you know what I mean. So I took my concerns to BFG and talked to him once again about the ranking, voting, and review system. And i had an idea.
So I was given permission to do the job. I sent out friend requests to the top 50 sources and made them an offer. it looked like this
"Hey Boss, ive been on this site for some time and seen it go through a lot of transformations. its pretty clear that whether sources are allowed to buy votes or not thats what the promos are for. Myself, My cousin, and two of my partners local to me are all long time members here on eroids with several hundred karma points each. All are different IPs with no way to trace us as a group. If you are interested in a trade we would be willing to give you 4 well written reviews, on any compounds you would like, for $200 in trade shipped. Im from the old school and operate on good faith and a mans word so we are willing to leave 2 reviews and votes prior to receiving products and 2 reviews and votes after. If you agree then ill tell you who the second voter will be, and after products land ill tell you who the 3rd and 4th will be. Just in case you decide to go the MODs im not gonna group us all together until deal is done. pretty simple and straight forward, if your not interested no worries there is plenty of sources to go around. you can hit back on my email too."
This is clearly illegal, cant trade products for votes and surely me leaving two reviews before even getting anything to review would have to be fake.

Thanks for the offer but I'm going to have to decline. What you are suggesting wouldn't be ethical. I'm all for you leaving reviews but it would need to be legitimate reviews on experience of our service and products purchased. Anything else would be false and not a true reflection of my service and quality of products. To do as you suggest would undermine my integrity and defeat the object of this site, although I am well aware that not everyone on this site is as conscientious as me.Regards

THIS IS NOT WHAT MAKES EROIDS, these sources all take away from the integrity of the site, they shit on the very place that makes them money, and honestly I cant say I would trust any source willing to trade for fake reviews.
Thankyou BFG and MODs for everything you put into this site, all your time and effort to make this place great! I hope that as a regular member my contributions help you continue to build on this vision.
I have forwarded all PMs and gave BFG password to my email account, so if anybody has in questions about legitimacy they can be answered.

My personal thoughts are you would be more likely to get Bunk Gear from a Supplier happy to do a Dodgy deal regardless of what that Deal is. I found the comment about the sources who said "Fuck Off" quite amusing. I feel very fortunate to have stumbled across this site recently and have felt very confident ordering from the top rated suppliers. If everyone sticks to the rules there never will be any issues.

Intension were great but IMO this is entrapment. I could almost guarantee that if this offer wasn't presented to them they would never have seeked it out on their own. Thanks for the effort but this doesn't say anything about quality. And that is the name of this game. You think this is entrapment? lol, it was hardly even an offer, purposely made that way to see how many would jump on practically nothing, to show the true corruption of these sources. I hope that this does what we had hoped and tightens up these sources assholes cause next time around they wont be so lucky to get off with just a little post about them.
maybe next time itll be a couple months long, sitting in their discussion page, chatting it up with them and then throw the bone, maybe even go for a rep spot, who knows? skys the limit bud! they or you can cry entrapment all you want. but the fact is its a rules violation and they got caught in their own field of play.
we(before i retired my tag) have hundreds of hours policing this site for this crap, to ensure that the system is not all fucked up like it was in the beginning as the OP describes. And what ever means necessary to bring a more respectable voting and ranking system is not off limits. You will not find another site like this, where integrity is demanded from sources. entrapment or not, a source that honors the site wont get caught!

Any SRC with integrity would have came straight to a MOD (as many did)... those that did not tilted their hand on where their integrity lies... Its very easy to see the members with opposition disorders, they will take the opposite side of any "perceived authority" even its to their detrimement...

So as long as the gear is legit then back door deals are ok? I don't think this post was intended to see who's gear is quality. I for one don't like it because I use my hard earned money to purchase my gear, and don't try and suck someone off for it.

I think you are missing the point of the investigation. This investigation gives you an insight into the work ethic and honesty of a source. When you are choosing a source, you need to factor this into your choice. If a source is willing to pay for fake reviews, what else is he willing to do to make sales and what corners is he willing to cut to make a profit??? It should also make you question the legitimacy of all his other reviews!!!
AnonIt blows my mind that people don't understand/care about the integrity of a source. As someone who has personally received gear that gave me a horrible infection back when I was newer to eroids ( from a source who is still alive and well here SOMEHOW ) I only take my business to sources who show a strong sense of business ethic & integrity consistently. I feel fortunate to be on the kind of terms I am with my two go-to guys, I can tell them anything and they know it's the truth, because I never ask for free shit & have turned down compensation for small mistakes, and vice versa. If a man doesn't have his word he has nothing. Without eroids I'd be fucked. How people lose sight of just how much this place helps us and furthermore HOW it's all been made possible is beyond me.

Hard to argue with this. Probably also hard for a src who is trying to climb the ranks to turn the offer down. Seems easy enough. The key here is integrity. Should we be suprised that people who are already involved in something that isnt "legal", might be interested in a shortcut? Im not. However, for the guys that declined the offer, it says ALOT about their character. I dont think differently of the guys who took the bait, i just think more highly of those who did not. Kudos.

Some sources are straight busted for sure and came right out with it. I just feel like a few of the responses were sensationalized but a lot were very unethical.
Now how about the closet reps on si pages that get kicked free gear to come on the si daily and praise how amazing the source is? They also write crap reviews and votes cause they are constantly getting free stuff. Most of the time they don't even try to hide it, they are obvious. Maybe next undercover operation we go for them? I know for sure of a few people who if the source asked them in pm to be a resident fan boy in exchange for gear they would do it in a heartbeat, this goes both ways.

I'm not sure how long you've been here while your protecting those sources, but it's been common knowledge on many of them for a long time that theu sell for votes.
. So it is again up to the reviewer to post honest review. It it sucked ass, then post it. Free oil isn't worth devaluing your reputation. Half the goofs on here could write a real review to save their ass.
AnonIs it bad that I frequent my primary sources SI and answer basic questions etc.? I do not receive payment in any form, never asked for or been offered, outside of perhaps being given priority with my orders when SRC is busy which I 100% pay for. I just have a long-standing excellent business history with and like the source. I'm asking because I will stop if this is seen as bad for the community in some way or will get my ass banned.
Of course that's not bad. I'm talking about people who come and just post something like. "Hey guys just wanted to say that (source) is the best on eroids" or daily reports of how they love the source and will never use anyone else and how amazing the gear is, daily. I've seen some people do this then the source goes under and the next week you see them saying the same shit on a different sources si. Nothing wrong with commenting on your personal experience but a lot of people are like walking billboards on a non stop basis and majority of them are getting free gear in exchange, that's being a rep. People who do it and don't get free gear are just fan boys
panheadedI think a large part of that problem is that we have an enormous volume of new steroid users on here and in there minds this is somewhat true. they find a source where the gear works and they stay there and talk about how great it is. or they may switch sources and get a slightly different effect and believe its the gear when it could be any number of things, diet training, sleep, unsaturated sensors, who knows. the key is to go through the reviews and look for the guys that have experience in compounds, several cycles under their belt with the same compounds and you will find the kind of reviews you seek.

Just wanna say this to sources. We will be running these and similar test again, periodically. I'm not going to let you sleep. If you're here to fake votes, buy votes or otherwise try to screw with my website you're gonna have a bad time.
Still deciding on punishment, whether to delete votes or exclude from ranking for a certain period.
AnonMy opinion is this, you did a great job with this investigation and it was creative. I'm glad we are on a forum that would allow this investigation.
My concern are as followed: are all the pms listed above. You citied a few sources who are late on fees or are out of business, so when exactly did you send the original email to those few sources? Next, no one actually sent gear, some agreed in principle to do so though. A more thorough approach would hbe been to get the gear (to tell which sources would actually follow through) post pics of the gear than destroy it. I can say "I'll murder your wife for 10k" but unless you put 10k in my hand its just words.
Finally, my opinion is this if my gear is accurately dosed (or overdosed), clean, affordable and arrives in a timely fashion, I truly am not interested if the source is "playing fair". I'm by no means insulting those who want an honest source, to me it doesnt matter. I find it interesting reading through some responses that some guys are upset about their source. However, do we apply these same code of ethics to big business. I'm wearing Nikes, I'm sure some poor chinese kid made but I still purchased them. I shop at Walmart knowing that they pay employees shit wages and are anti union. How can we be upset with a source for their words when some companies pay off politicans to advance in the rankings of their business.

I really dont give a shit what "business" I deal with if I dont sense respect /integrity from the person they will not get my business even if they're standing in front of me. I dont know, maybe Im just old fashion in that way.
