ED injections, rubber stopper wear and tear
Hello, just started trt last friday after years of research and debate. Everything going great so far but yesterday I started wondering about the rubber stopper on the test vial and how long it might last. Asked AI about (I know, I know) and it said usually they last for about 30-50 draws depending on if you rotate. This lead me down a rabbit hole of trying to figure out how to make it last longer.
I'm prescribed 200mg a week but decided at the beginning to only do 100mg a week and adjust later if needed. Also want to stick to ED injections for less e2 spike risk. AI stated I could preload a syringe with 3-4 days worth of test and store it up right, change pin needle fresh daily but said it did carry slightly more contamination risk.
Currently using 29g needle to draw and inject but I'm wondering if any ED pinners have any suggestions for me. The idea from the start was to use 100mg per week and then keep using the same vial even after my refill so that I could "save up" some vials. Don't really want to throw stuff away or waste it. With my plan, I would need the vial to last 17-18 weeks roughly. That's a lot of draws if I do it daily but also don't want to risk infection from preloading syringes.
One suggestion was to preload multiple syringes as in, draw daily dose into one, leave needle in vial and unscrew syringe, attach new syringe and do it again. I'm unsure if that's worth it or needed though.

At 100mg per week, I do not see the need to to do ed injections unless you are running test prop, which I assume you were prescribed test cyp or test e. Eod injections would be just fine and would give your nice and steady blood serum levels on test c or e. This would also give you less pokes and prods into the rubber stopper you are concerned about.
Personally, I use a 21 guage to draw, ed injections and have had zero issues with rubber stoppers and the draws are extremely quick and easy.
25 guage 1" for glute pinning and slin pin 29 guage 1/2" for delt administration. Backloading into the slin pins.
Yeah the ED thing is two fold for me. I've got anxiety issues and just peace of mind to minimize any e2 fluctuations best I can, also it's just easier for me to get into routine of ED rather than remembering what days I do and don't.
Look up multi dose vial adapters.
This right here. People talk about the oil possibly degrading the adapter plastic, but as you can see it doesn't really touch except for the once a day when I turn it upside down
Actually those look sick, you've never had any problems then with them? Any specific brand you recommend
One time I had an issue with it getting blocked and I couldn't pull any oil from it. I just removed it and inserted a new one. I think these are McKesson, but just Google Vial Spike Adapter Clave. As Min mentioned you can find them on Amazon, but you can usually get them cheaper on medical supply sites.
The only issue i have with them is there is an increase of dead space, but once you do it once or twice you’ll figure out how to compensate for it if you’re super accurate about dosing. These are still available on Amazon i believe. The particular ones i use you can get in a ten pack on Amazon or you can use a medical supply store ( which is probably your best bet).
I recently had a vial of Ultima test cyp and the stopper actually started to disintegrate! Makes you wonder what was in it
I have done 25-30 punctures with a 27g without a problem a bunch of times
Does this happen to be a vial of Beligas or Ultima?
unseen423My thoughts exactly....complete dogshit stoppers
With a 29g needle the stopper should be fine for quite a few pins IMO.
unseen423I've always heard not to preload syringes as the oil can degrade the rubber on the syringe plunger. Not sure if that's true or just bro lore.
I haven't run into any issues with ED injections and drawing up each time. On a blast, it's not really an issue but on TRT doses, the vial lasts quite a while. I 3d printed so vial caps, so I throw those on the vial after I am done drawing up for the day. That combined with a very good scrub with alcohol swap seems to work just fine.
Have also noticed there is a big difference in stoppers from lab to lab- some definitely get chewed up quicker and seem shitty...cough cough Ul----a and B--igas...
Ah ok, so the vial lasts longer than expected. With ED drawing, how long does one last you roughly? Mines from a clinic so pharma grade I guess
unseen423It depends on how much you are running- for example, my true TRT dose is 175mg/week, so with a 10ml vial of 200mg/ml, that would give me roughly 80 times accessing it (just over 11 weeks). If running 200mg/week it would be 70 days, 150mg/week would be 93 days.
10 weeks (200mg/week) is the 'standard' the TRT clinics use and why a lot of them send it as a 10-week subscription.
Ah ok so you literally don't run into issues with the stoppers and run out test before getting to that point, I'm looking at 17-18 weeks use of one vial so roughly 100 times maybe. Yeah I'll get refills at 10 weeks but I wanna keep using the one I got til I use it all
unseen423No, I haven’t run into issues unless it was from a few certain brands that are mentioned here who use complete garbage stoppers. I would avoid those like the plague.
