Eating clean
ad
I just wanted to start s couple random threads that could be helpful to rookies/newbies to the AAS cycle game. So with that being said i'd appreciate people posting what "clean diet" means to them ...your interpretation as well as how u personally apply it to your cycles and be specific whether it be a lean bulk, cutting, "see-food diet"means etc... foods u avoid and why. Thanks brothers!

OE2000I personally don't fall for that low carb diet hype. Its all about balance...the 40/40/20 or 40/30/30 work great for me. Whole wheat, or multi-grain pastas, lean protein, and good fats. Almond butter has changed my life! Hrdbygurrrlll turned me onto it.... it took some getting used to, but now I LOVE it! Eating every 3 hours helps also, and if you really want to kick your metabolism up, add Kelp to your diet. Fresh or supplement form, great stuff.
I eliminaed sugar and carbohydrates from my diet as I was developing fibromyalga and lots of allergies to foods. indicating that my gut flora was out of balance. I used GAPS diet as a guide and have adapted it to suit my body and what it need.
I use 50% green veg 25% protien 25% carbs as a guide. But it is generally 65 - 35.
OE2000Do the damn thing bro...... for me, I have NO energy when I eliminate carbs, and the best thing for both of us was to eliminate sugar.... I love ice cream and dream about it nightly, I also love to smoke, but can't do either.... stay cool bro!
For me eating clean is consuming foods that are beneficial to improving the condition of my gut flora, and that are home cooked. Most diseases start from the gut not funtioning properly. IBS, fibromyalga, chrhons, cancer, diabeties, heart disease, ADHD etc.
So I have eliminated sugar from my diet completley. Also for 3 months i eliminated all carbohydrates, just eat green veg and lean protien. I have introduced brown rice, spelt bread and pasta and quinoa, which I have a few times a week. The elimination of carbs was to teach my body to metabolise fat for energy. In 6 months I have lost 4 inches round my stomach, and increase my muscle tone and density
I eat goat milk, butter, cheese instead of cows, as it has a higher nutritionl profile and the molecules are small and easier to digest.
After 3 months I started taking probiotics to assist my diet. So a typical day will look like this
Breakfast - Chicken or eggs and green beans. Or yoghurt, hemp protien powder, blueberries with nuts and seeds
Mid Morning - Salmon and green veg with homemade mayo.
Lunch - Homemade beef bugers and green veg with mayo
Mid Afternoon - Yoghurt, fruit and almond butter
Dinner - Chicken green veg
OE2000I don't think most people realize just how toxic sugar is to our minds and bodies. I try to consume no more than 4tsp a day, and thats difficult. For all the Pepsi drinkers, I have a friend that used to work there, he told me that the leftover product has to be "destroyed"..... I guess it hazardous to the sewer system, he didn't elaborate, and I didn't care to hear it, .... my aunt used to drink a 6 pack or more of Pepsi/Coke per day.... needless to say, shes no longer with us!
Late night snacks are usually greek yogurt, cottage cheese, smart balance peanut butter on ezekial bread. I was thinking about going back to casein by opt nutrition every night as I did a while ago with good results.
dansta123guys what are you doing for midnight munchies and or beyond..im hitting up fruits and yogurts and cups of protein shake mix..
beavispopcorn with tabasco sauce, blue berries, yogurt.
Everyone is different so this really is like kicking a dead horse. There are certain guidlines like lowering your sodium, eating only lean red meats if any at all. Carbs can be the manic ticket for bulking if you can dial them in at the exact right time and the exact amount that your body responds well. I use ezekial bread and three cups of oatmeal a day, everyone has to experiment with how they respond though. They say you can eat as much broccoli as you want. Brown rice, sweet potatos healthy fats like avocadoand nuts. If your on cycle you should be careful with sodium and things high in cholesterol because of elevated blood pressure and if you don't do cardio either don't do steroids or start doing cardio. Its been explained to me that when on a cycle you can't process cholesterol and your arteries can build up with plaque. If your arteries are building up with shit your not doing the opposite of what people use steroids for. The muscle mag diet plans are good to use for an outline, obviously you might not be eating in those amounts. Low cholesterol low sodium is the goal.
My diet was tailor made for me by a nutritionist it cost $350 dollars back in 97 but at 40 I am still on it with great results. The general rule is to promote lean muscle mass you must intake 1 and a 1/2 times your body weight in protein.
2 scoops of protein powder, piece of fruit, and fish oil capsules before every meal, then I eat whatever I want and I stay in the single digit BF %. Been doing this before Jim Wendler spoke about it. Doing 2 lifting sessions a day 5 days a week, and one lifting session per day on Sat and Sun, also morning walks enables me to eat some pretty crappy food at times. However, for the most part I eat a lot of oats, eggs, salmon, and steak. I am not hesitant to scarf a few PB&J's or bagels though.
I will say right now though I am on a super squeaky clean VERY low carb diet. Getting ready to go on a cruise for 9 days (a boat, not TRT stuff) and I am doing a little 14 physique prep. I tend to do these little "cuts" just to keep my insulin sensitivity on track. I will do one of these 2 week cuts maybe once every few months or so, then it's back to eating whatever and getting strong.
My purpose of this thread was to help newbies understand that steroids aren't magic pills where they simply pop a pill or inject oil and BAM they're big and strong! I've had great cycles w/clean diets and mediocre cycles when my diets r not up to par. Mowin do know some ppl that have eaten shit or whatever they please while on and gave had great gains. Any thoughts on running gear with a mediocre diet? Say someone just wants to get big... for example test e @ 750 and eq @ 500 appetite will b huge by wk 7-8!
Personally I like to mix it up more often. When I can't see the chicken/turkey breast anymore I'll have a nice steak, shrimps, or even burgers made out of ground turkey meat (which is still so lean it does not count as cheating).
Obviously on-cycle I can't afford to cheat, so I'll have 1 cheat-meal max per month. Went a couple months without them altogether.
When I'm cutting I'll cut down the carbs and eat more fat and protein.
Why can't you afford to cheat on cycle?
Because I'm almost 260 pounds with 7% BF and I'll put on fat like nothing since I used to be very overweight.
How does previous weight affect how easily you put on fat?
Because fat depots never completely go away, they just get depleted. Hence, if you used to be very overweight (like me) you will always be more prone to putting fat back on again.
Fuck, I did not know that. I'm in the same situation and thought that after my recent cut the reason I put back on weight easily was due to me rebounding hard. So there's no way to counter that then?
No, but you can have them surgically removed. A simple rule to follow after cutting in order to minimise fat gain is to slowly ramp up your calorie intake by 100 cals every couple of days, thereby closely monitoring your weight.
That way your body can slowly readjust to increased food and calorie intake. If I can do it then everyone can.
Yeah that's what I'm gonna do when I start bulking again. I dropped from 240lbs down to 180lbs. How many cals do you bulk on now and at what weight/height?
I am exactly 257lbs at a height of 1.83m and I bulk @ 5000+ cals.
Yea I mix it up thats why at the bottom I have the allowed area I can sub what I need and I have kids so my cheat days come more frequent than once a month LOL
but one cheat a month is about right on target
