We mods try and bend over backwards to keep things civil and under control. We prefer you police yourselves and respectfully pay attention to other members when they remind you of the rules.
If we step in, it is already too late. We may banter a little to explain the rules so all can learn from the situation. And,depending on our mood, we may let you get away with some snarky attitude...
But don't even think you'll ever win an argument with a MOD. And don't let your attitude get to the point where you are challenging the authority.
The Ban hammer is still around. Now, we have our right to carry a concealed weapons permit.

I just don't get the attitude or the people you're referring to. Maybe there is simply a lack of self control with people, that they can't interact with others, without having an issue.
Part of being an adult is keeping things civil and under control. If you can't do that, I don't think you need to be here or that you should be using AAS. I have ZERO problem with the "Ban Hammer" flying around and I think it's a good thing.

Keeping a forum of strangers together would be a social experiment in futility. It's only gonna end in tragedy... UNLESS IT IS EROIDS. This place defies the norms. It's incredible.
The MODS are all consistent with the stuff that matters. DON'T GIVE RECKLESS ADVICE. KEEP THE BUSINESS ASPECTS PRIVATE. SHOW RESPECT (unless one of the first two criteria have been violated).
The old biblical saying, "The meek shall inherit the Earth" doesn't translate to "the weak will inherit." Meek means "strength under control." I consider myself meek as shit, y'all, and I hope to keep my strength, as well as my control, as long as I'm alive.
To summerize, THANK YOU to the mods for helping keep eroids the incredible site that it is.
You guys are always so busy. So many kids and/or ignorant dumb asses. It's always handled. I have always seen a warning before the boot. Kindness mistaken for weakness is for the fools.

The MODs have just as much passion to make sure the information and advice given on this site is as outstanding as the regular members do.
On occasion, a MOD may be seriously wrong about topic or concept where it is important enough it has to be corrected.
You are 100% right though, there is no point in a regular member getting into an open public debate with a MOD where the MODs credibility is at stake.
What I have done, is simply PM the MOD, state my case, and that's it. If the MOD decides to alter his view or position on the topic in question that is up to him and in no case does it look like GearHead was involved at all.
If you are so immature you gotta prove you're right, you're too young to be on the fora and should get off.
Also, the MOD team can talk to each other in private about a difficult topic before spewing forth an answer.
What I have described doesn't happen very often.
You are right but those issues are more along the line of "non mod" topics. If I toss my hat into a discussion about cycles, religion, politics, LGBT rights etc., it is not my mod hat I'm tossing in.
My topic is more about rule violation. I may discuss it in public so others can learn, and the individual may not like what he's hearing but he should abide by the Mods ruling.
If he has disagreement that can't be addressed without challenging the authority he should, as you so eloquently pointed out, bring it to PM.
Sometimes there is an "exception to the rule" or a new rule needs to be put in place. Those issues with merit are brought to the other mods and BFG.

If you fck up and a mod says something take it on the chin and put up a post get that karma back and prove your worth instead of acting like your a teen and you got something to prove.

A little PSA for us huh, you Mods have your work cut out for you no doubt. I see a lot of crazy accounts being made and those crazy post that follow are taken down pretty Damn fast aswelll as those accounts! And that's just the tip of the iceberg I know, people posting fake reviews, etc etc. You guys certainly don't have to give warnings, especially if it's a blatant violation of the rules, everyone here would agree... Fuck em lay the HAMMER DOWN on em!
