I believe that bodybuilders are athletes. Even if they are not professional/amateur competitors. But good post. It's important for people to remember that this is NOT a bodybuilding site. Sometimes they forget that and they flame others who may not look the same as them not realizing they may be coming from a totally different place. This is an AAS website. Most of the TRT guys either want to learn so they come here. Or they want to take advantage of an unfortunate situation they find themselves in by adding something to their trt. There are the fighters and other athletes who use AAS for totally different reasons than bodybuilders. Some of these guys are 160lbs and they'll get flamed for it simply because Some bodybuilders think that they are the only ones who have any business using AAS. The ones that really annoy me are the youngsters who are doing this for ALL the Wrong reasons. Not doing anything correctly and just trying to improve their appearance. Summer is coming. We'll be getting a lot of that. Some haven't even trained until they started AAS. That is troublesome.
As great as the bodybuilding hormone lifestyle is, let's make one thing clear:
Growing and developing as a young man, all the emotional and behavioral things that go with that, are very much tied into hormones.
So if you just jack up your test levels to supra-physiological heights and keep them there, you are not experiencing the sensitivity of 'real life'. Think about it. Happy, alpha, aggressive, horny all the time 24/7 is not how we are designed to develop. Our bodies natural testosterone level fluctuates, through the day as well as from day-to-day and from season-to-season. It fluctuates in response to combat, competitiveness, sadness, fear, love, music, art. When your testosterone level fluctuates so do your neurotransmitters.... dopa-mine to name one. This all has a profound effect on creating your mood and personality.
This is one of the reasons SOME guys on TRT never seem to be able to 'feel' right. There are many other things that can throw their well being off that can be fixed, but dopa-mine sensitivity and the constantly flat level of testosterone can contribute.
Just some food for thought. No-one should go into this thinking it won't have any repercussions at all on well-being. Having said all that, there are many guys whose lifes have been improved immeasurably from TRT, but they were suffering genuine hormone deficiency (sometimes thyroid and gh too) from pathology or injury to the testes or the brain.
Have made a couple posts like this lately. Hope it doesn't come across as being a kill joy but let's be responsible the kids that are reading our stuff..
Very well put Wilcox. +1
VERY NICE bro! I appreciate this point of view! Thank you for sharing ++1
Very very good! If we search this site alone on posts we can see many times people demonstrating this behavior or somewhere in a emotional crisis. It is good and responsible having this side addressed. +1
GearofWarI just read this and thought it was brilliant. I'm in the TRT camp and it did turn my life around because I ruined my endocrine system with opiates. But, if I could go back and do it all again..well, you know how that one ends. I think it's imperative to feel the range of emotions natural hormonal fluctuation incites. It makes is who we are, as you so eloquently stated. Posts like this make me proud of this community. +1 Brother.
Great perspective actually
there are more out there. even the business professional, white collar guys that utilize gear extensively. a lot more than there used to be. If you put the time to learning and researching diet, training and aas along with getting proper blood work done regularly there is no reason not to improve your physique.
GearofWarAverage Joe here bro. Description is pretty close. I like the usable everyday strength gain that gear provides. So I suppose I'm "the Athlete" a little bit too. Lol
Terephthalic Pt...Hey man don't dis being 150-180. I'm 170 and I'd rather stay sub 180. Nothing like being lean and strong as shit.
I'd kill myself if I was a bulky mess. To me the bodybuilder look is awful.
To each his own.
guess i would be a 1 and 3 with a touch of 4 time to time lol
4 without the tren lol
Id be a mix of 1 and 3 probably. I enjoy the lifestlye although it is not taken as serious as a pro bb
You forgot one, the TRT guy who wants to keep lead in his pencil!:P
and the Recovering from an Injury Guy, who uses to rehab back in shape, if they like it, they may turn into another guy on the list.
That is Right! Good call!
