+ 2 Cardio machines
ad
Ive been pretty consistent with my cardio for the last few years and im at the point now where I have basically be running on the treadmill to get my heart rate to 120 or over. And I really hate running. I miss the days where a moderately fast walk at 3.5 could get me there lol.
What other machines do you guys use that can get your heart rate up pretty high? Been thinking about getting a stairmaster since it has some other benefits as well for the legs. But i dont want it have to go at a crazy fast pace on something like that. Kinda want an option that doesn’t involve any walking. I’ve had bikes in the past and was never a huge fan of them. Rowing machines or an elliptical are options I’m considering.

An un-split cord of wood is the best cardio workout device.
I have a commercial splitter and an excavator so there isn’t anywhere near as much of effort involved with splitting a cord as there used to be lol. Still hard work though.
Now splitting a cord with an axe, that’s a great workout.
Stair master. Even slow it gets my heart rate up. Like you, I’m at the point now where 3% incline at 6mph only gets my heart rate to 120, maybe 125. Walking at 9% incline at 3.5 mph might get me to 105.
Elliptical also can work since you’re using arms and legs. I can get in the 120s on my elliptical and sustain that for 45-60 minutes no problem. Joints feel good too.
Heavy bag and gloves get me up to 120
Yep, stairmaster is the tits. I like to use it for 10 min prior to lifts to get a nice sweat going. Sometimes get in the groove and go for 15 min. My favorite cardio by far.
I have this. It's awesome. You don't have to go at a fast pace to get your heart rate up. The heart rate monitor doesn't work well. I use my Apple watch to track my heart rate. https://www.walmart.com/ip/BalanceFrom-Stair-Climber-Commercial-Grade-St...
That’s a sweet deal. The monitor on my treadmill doesn’t work worth a shit either. It’s consistently 20-25 points higher than my Apple Watch.
My Galaxy watch is extremely fast (no lag time recording) and accurate. It's every bit as good as my Polaris chest strap... side by side, beat for beat, the reading is identical.
That's $100 less than what I paid.
Are the stairs rubber / plubber? Couldn't find that info in the details. My gym has plastic stairs and they are rather annoying. I just turn my headphones up so I don't hear them
The stairs are metal with rubber attached. It weighs over 400 lbs.
High quality Stairmaster in my opinion is the best. It kicks my ass more than anything but I prefer to run outside or on the treadmill. Also look into that Jacobs ladder machine.
My wife
You can apply intensity in any kind of cardio machine in my opinion, I rather the ones I feel more comfortable cause cardio for me is medicine but the one I hate to take everyday. Treadmill or stactionary back I’ve been consistent using both. I refuse any kind of stairs or elliptical. It’s a pain in the ass, anyway, rather the one I can tolerate more. It’s a strategy to keep me on the track in my point of view
Ya that’s what I’m getting at, the most comfortable machine where I can get my heart rate up. It’s not comfortable for me to run. It just too fast. I feel like I’d have to be going back and forth like a spaz on an elliptical to get my heart rate up. It’s been quite a few years since I sold my last bike. I’ll have to try it again. My gym has a lot of different cardio machines so I’ll have to try them all out and see what I like.
Heavy bag. But with stair master you can get that DUMP TRUCK
Heavy bag seems like alot of work to do for 30-40 minutes lol.
Back in the day used to work out at an amateur boxing gym. The 2 minutes on 1 min rest is some serious HIIT.
Stairmaster bro. Its killer.
