+ 3 Blood pressure what’s acceptable

ad

So it seems that doctors and health care professionals have increased what they see as normal BP leavers.
Interesting to hear what your numbers are on and off cycle and what compounds you feel raise it the most?
I currently take blood pressure meds ( ramipril) and I run 130-135 / 75-80 with my heart rate resting rate around 70bpm give or take. My doctors are happy with them numbers but I know a few years ago they would have still thought that was 2 high.
If I take tren , deca it rockets up fast and I have to increase me ramipril dosage and I love EQ but I just can’t take it anymore can’t control my BP when on it.
I do think its age related to a degree as I never had any issue at all until I hit my 40s

When I'm on my heaviest cycles (test, tren, drol, gh), I have never seen higher than 148/89. Usually it's high 130s/low 140s on full blast. On my cruise it usually goes back down to 120ish/80ish. Never taken a blood pressure med. However, I feel like my cuff at home is a bit off because every time I go to the docs and they measure it, even on a full blast cycle, the highest I've seen was only 120/82. I'll go home and do it and will read like 140/86. Mine will almost always read 15-20 pts higher than the one at the docs. Dunno why.

I've bought 3 cuff machines cause i have the same issue with bp off from what dr. reads. What I've read is the wrist ones are not accurate at all. I do take bp but don't get 2 excited if its high just have my friend check it.

I had to buy the extra large cuff as the large that came with it was to small, I could get it on but it was tight from the start before I even turned it in BP readings were all over the place

I’ll have a look at that

I try to keep mine under 120/70. I take telmisartan 80 mgs partially for BP and partially for the cardio enhancing effect (similar to cardarine but not as effective and without the cancer risk) pretty much whether or not I’m blasting although I’ll drop it to run cardarine for three or four months when I’m cruising and doing a ton of cardio.

We’re all different when it comes to this, I was in the ER for it around thanksgiving, I get spikes they really can’t explain. That night the highest was around 190/130, 2 days later it was 120/80 or so again. If you’re under 200/140 and not having and headache or dizziness, the hospital I go to won’t even give you meds. I had a great conversation about this with the ER doc. The flip side is, say you’re 160/110, but you’re usually normal, and you have headache or other symptoms presenting, get to a hospital fast. I’ve come to learn the worry is highly exaggerated and used often to push unnecessary meds. Pic attached was last week, ignore the time and date on the machine, I don’t bother with that.

Figured I'd check and join ya.......

Im running pretty average this month

SMASHTASTIC's picture

Im on meds as well (metoprolol and olmesartan hctz). My cardiologist has always told me 130/85 or less is fine. Since they put me on the olmesartan with the diuretic I've been running around 115/75, but I'm only on a trt dose of 100mg/week of cypionate. At first I was running like 110/65 when they changed me and they reduced the dose. Before that on the amlodipine I was consistently like 130/85 for a good year and they said it was fine. I started having leg swelling which is why they changed it. I don't really know what's good but I feel fantastic right now so ima go with 115/75.

HENCH500's picture

That amlodipine made me hold water real bad, there was like a half inche indentation where my socks had been …. Felt terrible on it so they switched my meds and I feel fine but still think my bp runs high … docs are happy though and I am like 275lbs so I think that don’t help

Were you on 5 or 10mg daily?

HENCH500's picture

10mg and my doctor said we will try Lercanidipine 20mg and see if that’s better, been in that 2 months now and I’m a lot better on that no water. Currently on 5mg ramipril am and pm and 20 mg Lercanidipine daily

I can’t take EQ and DHB for the same reasons anymore.

I can’t even mega dose GH (15-20iu+) the same as I used to be able to as water retention goes up and then BP follows.

Age definitely plays a factor.

120/80 is the “standard normal”, but ranges vary based on the person.

Here is a decent chart for the average adult:

While folks compare highs and lows keep in mind the numbers too close to eachother is a bad warning. Like 110/90 or 120/110.

Drexyl's picture

The opposite is no good either, 170/60 get to an ER. I dunno, I’m currently trying to find a new physician. The guy I have now isn’t bad, but the network is fucking terrible. Problem is, most of the doctors in the area are affiliated with it one way or another. Bottom line, if you’re 130/85 you’re fine, even a bit higher is ok. I’d say, and I’m not a dr, hold off on meds unless you’re over 140/90 consistently and feeling unwell. The BP meds come with their own risks.

smurfdude1234567's picture

That needs to be a lasting average too. Fasting, caffeine, physical activity, anxiety, the drugs we all take, etc. there’s so many things that can cause spikes that can be quite scary. Don’t think you got high once so you need to be put on meds that MANY people have to stay on for years or for life.

Of course if it’s like 180/120 and normally perfect may take a trip to the ER to be safe. Otherwise take some beet root concentrate/juice/pills with a cold glass of water, breathe, take a warm shower, and chillaxxxxx.

My anxiety especially when I was getting clean manipulated my numbers so much, and if I really focus and try to raise my HR or BP while getting it read I can- same thing with lowering it. I can focus in on breathing/meditation almost and drop BPM/BP a substantial bit.

What can that indicate? I’m curious.

Jockstrap's picture

Learned this in class but easier to copy n paste ...

When blood pressure numbers are "close together," it means the difference between the systolic (top number) and diastolic (bottom number) is small, which is referred to as a "narrow pulse pressure" and can indicate a potential issue with the heart's pumping ability, sometimes seen in conditions like heart failure or significant blood loss; a normal pulse pressure is typically between 40 and 60mmHg.

Theres several variables listed but your heart not pumping properly and death comes up often with this issue. @simonmagus84

Lol our timing of each responding was pretty damn perfect

Can be an early warning sign for a handful of things- heart failure, blood loss, heart/valve disease, etc.

Essentially just a sign that your heart is not properly pushing blood to your body like it should be.

Commonly called “Narrow Pulse Pressure”

This sounds crazy but im on bp meds and my dr is cool if it is under 140/90. I'm usually 135/85 or below.

Drexyl's picture

Listen to this doctor, you’re fine.

I need to up my cardio game lucky if I get 2 sessions a week in these days …. I do like to walk in the country side , dales or Peak District at weekends so that must count towards cardio
