Back is locked up. Have a question

ad

First of all Glad the site is up. I was having withdrawals!

Anyway I have chronic back issues but for the most part I can train around it I've learned t manage it over the years. Saturday my back locked up. Its much less severe than what I normally deal with. Usually in a week I'm back to normal. I'm at week 8 of my cycle. Tomorrow is my next pin. Even if I feel better I will probably skip lifting but I'm assuming I will miss a few days of training this week.

Should I still pin tomorrow and skip the gym. I woukd think that is fine. There is no rule that yiu have to go to gym on pin day right? Since I'm expecting to miss training time this week only should I keep going with my cycle or scrap it now. Like I said past experience tells me a week and I'm back to the gym. I've been worse and recovered I. A week. Before I I started working iut it would take me weeks to recover.

My plan is to keep going on cycle unless its.a bad idea.

Hey Bro....I have some training in this sort of thing. It sounds to me that besides your history of LBP associated with a MVA, you have quite a bit of instability. Anytime you "pull" your back out picking up a shoe or towel or whatever, that is a sign of instability. Once you sort out your current exacerbation, really focus on you core stabilizers. Namely the multifidus muscles, transverse abdominus, erector spinae, rectus abdominus, and obliques. Look around online or get some professional guidance if you don't think you can target these muscles correctly. Once you have restored your spinal stability...hopefully your lower back will be able to keep up with the demands you currently place on it. And you will "pull" your back out a lot less. Good luck!

I'm not ssure what lbp and mva mean but I agree with the instability. I have been to physically therapy enough to know how to correct it but admittedly I have been slacking while on cycle. I will def keep it in mind and get back to doing what I should be doing. It really does make a huge difference. I have worked hard at strengthening the back but forgot some of the basics that tie it all together.

I'm assuming I should keep going on cycle though unless I'm gonna be out for 2 or 3 weeks. I would be shocked if that were the case though.

Sorry its my lower back. I have a couple bulging discs. I had surgery on l4/l5 8 years ago only becasue of sciatic issues. Right now my lower left side is in spasm. Tight and painful to bend.. I hurt it saturday bending over to pick something up. I originally hurt it in a bad car accident

I pinned higher up on my glute thursday I cant help but think it irritated that area and led me to this.

I've had it so bad where I have literally had to crawl.but I'm walking around I just have limited range of motion.
