It has now been revealed within the comments below the story, by no other than his own girlfriend AND mother, that he was NOT on a, 'Roid Rage Rampage'. Instead it was because one of his drinks was supposed to have been spiked the night before.
So they've just made it public knowledge that he did in fact commit perjury in the witness box as his defense.

The Brits have us beat there. This is the 5th or 6th story I've read in the UK press recently where steroids were portrayed in such a ridiculous light that puts even American hysteria to shame.
