+ 13 Are you healthy enough for steroids?
I know some are probably scratching their head right now. But, I'm using steroids to get in shape and live a healthy life. Have you thought of the possibility that it could have the complete opposite effect? Maybe you're new to steroids or maybe you've run countless cycles. One thing I know is it is not worth risking your health.
Do you know if you are healthy enough to do steroids? If you haven't done blood work recently then I can tell you the answer already. The answer is NO! I'm not just talking about your basic testosterone/estrogen levels. That's like walking into a mine field blindfolded. I've seen a lot of new guys in the forum lately and a lot of questions that make you think damn, this guy has no fk'n idea......
Health factors to consider before jumping on the train; Do you smoke, drink, use drugs regularly? What is your Mental state, Body fat %,Blood pressure, Lipid Profile, Complete Blood Count, Comprehensive Metabolic Profile and Thyroid Profile among other things? If you don't know what these things even are referring to then you're not ready...Stop and educate yourself. How do you find out what all that stuff even is? BLOOD WORK! How do you get blood work done? You can schedule an appointment with your primary care physician, go to one of those HRT/TRT clinics and they will draw them for you or you can order them on a site like privatemdlabs.
What is your diet like? You need to be disciplined enough to adhere to a proper healthy diet. If you can't eat right how the hell are you gonna run some gear successfully? Having a shit diet is a health risk on its own without adding exogenous hormones. What is your cardio like? Don't worry you won't wither away by keeping your cardiovascular system in good standing. If you don't have a good heart then you are at risk for some serious added stress when combining with aas.
As much as you don't want to think so there are serious consequences that can arise from using steroids. If you haven't been paying attention there's been a few guys pass away in the past year or so. R.I.P. Steroids can potentially have a negative impact on your health and you don't want to risk it from being unprepared.
This is far from a detailed guide. Books can be written on the topic. There's enough things in this world that are killing us. Don't let steroids be one of them. I just wanted to give you something to think about when your considering taking steroids. You get one shot at this life don't take it for granted.
If you want some info on lab work here's a link to a great thread to check out posted by an old member here.

Good post buddy!!
+1 great post

Shouldn't be running a cycle unless you are already in shape. For those who truly need TRT though, it is very difficult to get in shape without so that is really where it is only warranted, but that isn't a cycle either.
Agreed. Trt is a whole other ball game. Trt is a great tool that can change your life for the better!
Rings true to me. I had blood pulled Wednesday and got a call Friday saying my potassium was very high, bad cholesterol was high. I have to go back in for a different blood test Monday when I get back into town. It has me worried to a small degree. My PCT went well and I feel good.
We can feel good and be out of whack.....Im sure by Wednesday the 2nd results will enlighten me more. I'll be sure to share some details to help the community. Perfect post. Hit home.
+1 Good awareness post
Can’t tell you how many times I’ve had false high positive potassium readings. It happens quite often. Don’t make a fist when they’re taking the blood and make sure they handle the sample with care. If the blood bumps around after it’s been collected the potassium can leach out and cause false high postivea. Ideally it should be tested immediately.
Thanks Dacky. Always helps hearing different views from people. I also read how stable it was handled can make a big difference in the cell wall breaking and giving a false reading. Im headed back in tomorrow and will update.
that is good to know
My last labs revealed that my potassium and chloride were pretty low. For a while now I’ve been drinking nothing but water and lots of it daily. Doc told me it’s great to drink water but you gotta get those electrolytes and start incorporating some other fluids containing those essential parts that we lose from intense workouts. Good luck to you on your follow up. Hope everything gets worked out.
+2. Good write up - hopefully newer members and even some older ones pay attention and do blood work. It’s something I’m religious about and it allows me to adjust things around the edges and supplement (naturally and when necessary pharmaceutically) to stay safe. It’s the only way we learn about what we do to ourselves when running cycles and introducing new compounds.
I just wanted to raise some awareness. Most people know to do it but in reality won’t. I myself didn’t do blood work for awhile after getting into aas. It’s not that I didn’t know better. I was just hard headed and ignored the fact since I was getting results I wanted. Blood work recently opened my eyes to some problems that I need to work on. Ive been off for over 2 years so haven’t been doing labs. It’s very important!
Interesting read +
Thank you
This is a great read, thanks
Thank you
Good & different type of post mate - Makes you think! Everyone is a newcomer to this site at some point and the up and down world of running steroids, not everyone thinks like someone who has been a member on this site for a year or two +
Thanks. Will make you think for sure. I know I wasn’t the only hard head back in the day that ignored good advice. It can reassure you that everything is fine or it can humble you and make you buckle down and try to find/fix any abnormalities.
Well I liked your post bro +1
Thanks bud
Why would you “risk your health” just to get in shape? Steroids arent for getting to shape. If you can’t get into shape by yourself then steroids are definetely not for you. Thats where the diet you talked about plays a role.
jayisk"risk health to get in shape."
thats basically the Western model for medicine. not saying he should take steroids to get in shape.
But when you go to your primary doctor they treat your symptom with medication.
How many times does a dr. say to someone obese that has hypertension, or diabetes, or high cholesterol. etc. to change their diet and exercise.
that goes in one ear and out the other. the patient just wants a med to patch things over. then they go back to the dr. and the dosage goes up, more meds get added, or meds are added to combat side effects.
Definitely, everyone wants the cure or magic pill for the quick fix. Over the years I’ve been prescribed some meds 2 times for things that I was able to work on and fix myself without ever taking any meds for. I believe meds should be a last resort.
Most eroid members are savvy enough to know the risks and rewards and do the research. Those wh are not have no on to blame!
Mate - I'm sorry - but again, an over-generalisation: 'most eroid members'? How many do you know personally? Have you ever looked at the number of views of a topic post compared to the number of comments? 'Most' eroids members wouldn't know their arse from hole in the ground. The regular members who post and comment do know a lot and try to share their knowledge and I'm guessing that they all hope that the cruisers and lurkers will gain some of that knowledge. I would be willing to put money on a bet that there are long term members here who use gear and never have blood work, liver and kidney profiles done on a regular basis. They probably think that they can get by with what other people post and apply that experience to their own situation. A bad assumption.
Didn’t Mak already cover all this?
They may be savvy enough but I’d probably be generous saying that 10% of them do regular blood work if any at all.
Probably fairly accurate.+1
