There effect on each other and how much they would effect gains?
There are way too many variables to give you an honest answer... Need diet and training schedule, along w/ alcohol consumption pattern, as well as cycle info... in a bulk (I dont drink at all) I know guys who have 2 beers w/ there meals when possible. Makes for extra calories and relaxes the stomach so you dont feel so uncomfortable full. I can see how it would help and work? But I havent drank since 6/06 and God help me, I wont start again.
IMO, alcohol has no place in a cutting cycle... But hey bro, I have said for a lotta years different shit effects different people differently... Appearantly McDonald's, is like crack to some people, cause before they even go in there you can clearly see they have already had Way Tooooo Much!
Beer and wine do have heathly benefits when used in MODERATION. Having a few here and there and not getting hungover should be fine. I could drink a beer the day before working out and I would be fine.
I don't know of any health benefits of liquor. check out this article

You're just limiting your potential if you mix the two, Pick one and go for it. I spent many years of my adult life drinking & I now realize what a fucking waste I made of myself for those years, missed opportunities, time with family and on and on. I actually stopped drinking when I decided to do AAS, I wanted to better my body and myself.
Now when I'm around drunks I almost feel ashamed to know that this irritating, pathetic, annoying fuck use to be me. I do not miss that at all. If you're having a hard time deciding to put booze to the side then you're probably not really serious about bettering yourself. Keep in mind this is ONLY my opinion & opinions are like assholes - Everyones got one & alot of them stink! Take care,
Jab
Ok i do have lots of expertise in this area unfortunetly..To start you can never give it your all if your sweating out a hangover..I am an alcoholic but have finally learned its one or the other..Bodybuilding or boozeing? They dont mix..Since i have been sober and training its like night and day..So haveing an occasional beer on a hot day is ok but just remember your takeing 2 steps back everytime you do it..Want your arms to grow or your belly? Its up to you my friend..
if u are serious about "the lifestyle", there isn't room for alcohol.
i have not done much research on this area. but, apparently alcohol decreases (natural) testosterone.
drinking is a way to intake a lot of bad calories.
it is kinda hard to workout with a hangover lol.
It also decreases protein synthesis
Alcohol causes your body to store fat in you mid section. It also has a wasting effect on thigh and gluteal muscles.
A study looking at the effects of alcohol found that the stress hormone cortisol rose 61 percent higher when alcohol followed weight lifting.
tread-mFIrst of all, alcoholics anonymous and AAS anonymous are for QUITTERS! OK, serious question, have you seen anything in study or do you have anopinion on a few drinks in a week coming via a single at a time? I know outside of what we do it is considered healthy but wondering your insite on gear use and those few. I rarely drink at all but when I do and not running orals it seems to be in excess since it compliments my rowdy nature but I have seriously wondered about the casual use and health vs abuse and nver have found sound info on it....didn't look real hard either given my rare use but....curious.
Ironically, the same study (appeared in the American Journal of Gastroenterology) showed that chronic heavy-duty drinkers were leaner than moderate drinkers. Presumably the high amount of alcohol consumed may have a thermogenic effect; burning more calories than consumed.
It could possibly be that heavy drinkers often don't eat. I agreed with your statement earlier. Alcohol increases cortisol and cortisol increase belly fat. However, when we get to extreme cases of heavy drinkers and we pretty much take out food. They will most likely be malnourished. Also, with the extreme stress put on their body they are likely to develop ulcers and other gastro illnesses or diseases. I would think this would be the reason those people would be underweight.
I would have to agree. I have a few friends that literally drink every single day and chain smoke cigarettes. Its part of their routine and they probably have a tall can every couple hours. They eat maybe one whole meal a day and that is it. That one meal is usually a heart attack burger at a fast food joint. They are skinny but who wants to be skinny and live like crap. SMH.
Could very well be, the study only suggested thermogenic effect as a possible reason; you bring up some valid points.
yeah i wont drink every weekend but i will find myself going crazy if i go without it for a whole 12 week cycle. Am thinking about saving it for about half way through the cycle and all i would drink would be vodka shots with poweraid lol for electrolytes.
dbolzVodka shots are you kidding mate? Just have one single beer if you must drink something and thats once a month not any more often than that. Use the wellbeiing/euphoria that comes with gear to stop drinking alltogether. You wont go crazy at all just dont drink unless you are a hardcore alcy you wont have any probs.
One vodka shot will sent your bp in the 190s when on cycle.
man i seriously only go out and loosen up when i get a few drinks under my belt. This wellbeing/euphoria better be as good as everyone makes it out to be.
dbolzIts even better just try and brake your routine from now, say you drink only weekends now, try drinking on tuesdays (Boring days) for a while to brake the routine. Once you get on the juice you wont need any other highs
Unless your having a couple of drinks here and there on occasion your fucking your body up..we put so much time and effort into the kitchen, eating right, and working out why throw it away on a drunk night. Also drinking on cycle can throw things off for a couple days, you drink, get hung over, can't eat right, can't workout and therefore the next few days becomes pointless..scary game we
Play putting shit into our bodies, so I try and eliminate as much of it as I can!
dbolzFirst of all when you drink the first cals your body consumes are the ones from the alcohol/dirty carbs any other food you eat goes in your belly hence the beer gut. Also they both pass through your liver so that organ is doing a lot more extra work. Second alcohol scyrockets your bp. Is beyond me why anyone would drink on a cycle. Havent drunk a single beer for over 2 years. If you prefer the drink just leave the aas out of it.
I read if u workout and then get drunk later, instead of your body repairing and rebuilding your fibres it is too occupied dealing with the alcohol and trying to sober u up. I believe this to be true as if I workout and then drink I am sore the next couple days, instead of just a lil bit sore the next day but not bad...
I would suggest not drinking on cycle. alcohol increases estrogen. also im sure it could affect your work out at the gym if you hung over. last thing you need is a blood alcohol level the next day it can cause a real problem with your breathing which will affect home much weight you may be able to lift.
