Advice needed
ad
I am 31 years old, will turn 32 in a few months. Been training for roughly 6 years. No kids at the moment. I just had my testosterone tested for the first time and my total was 317, free 43.3. These tests were taken in the afternoon and clearly they are very low for my age. After all was said and done, he did not want to prescribe TRT. He did not feel an otherwise healthy 31 year old should be on testosterone. In my opinion, he is a doctor on the more cautious side. I have done a lot of research and plan on running my first cycle of Test Cypionate. If taken safely, will I have any issues? Thanks in advance.

Plenty of ways to try increase natural testo.
Forcus on that because i guarantee you; doing steroids will lower your already low-norm natural testo.
So, try fix your real issue versus make it worse (guaranteed)..... ask your good self.... what would an intelligent person do????.... then when you find the answer... do that.
After reading all the posts here it seems that, judging by your replies, you were hoping for everyone to say go for it. Well...go for it Gold. You obviously had your mind made up before posting, but were also looking for some form of validation for your decision. You are old enough to be responsible for decisions relating to your own body and old enough to take responsibility for any consequences of those decisions. Good luck.
What prompted you to get the tests done in the first place? Do you feel any differently than you have, say, the last couple of years or so? I would say concentrate on your diet and getting 8 hours of quality sleep a night and retest again (in the morning!!) in 6 weeks or so. Jumping on TRT right now if you ever want to have children is probably not a good idea. It can be done of course but it makes it more complicated and you really don't want to have the regret that you cannot have kids because your gym gains stalled for a few months. Kids are a pain in the ass 75% of the time but that other 25% of the time makes up for it 200 fold...; )
Hello Sir,
Would recommend to repeat your test couple more times to have average numbers and only then make your decision, surprised your Doctor did not recommend that. Considering the fact that you mentioned kids subject, you probably looking forward to have one eventually, otherwise you wouldn't mention this fact, so jumping on TRT doesn't sound like smart idea then.
So my advice is not to touch any synthetic hormones as this will eventually create even more hormone imbalance.
Get your blood work done again to see if the numbers varies from your previous test.
Hope this helps.
Regards
Gold01Thanks for your reply. I failed to mention that my doctor did recommend taking another test, in the morning while fasting. The results came back only slightly higher, 355 total. I am seeing an endocrinologist this week.

Running a cycle isnt going to help your levels in the long run...
You have a lot of room left to grow at your age, I think you should spend more time researching diet advice and training and less time worrying about drugs. With your levels being a tiny bit below average you risk a longer recovery if you recover at all. You say youve been training for 6 years so low t can be ruled out, if you really had it you would have lasted less then 6 months in the gym. Go as long as you can and hit your limit.
RustyhookerYour gym and foods need you natural 200 first. Dont be lazy!
Age: 31
Height: 5’9”
Weight: 170
BF:
Gold01I have been over 200 pounds before, while working out.
You definitely do not have low T then.
RustyhookerNeeds a proper endo then.
AnonWell technically you're still in healthy range, I suppose taking test would depend on what your goals are. Do you feel you hit your natural peak?
Gold01If I did not hit my natural peak already, I am very close to it.
AnonWell what Rusty said above is something you should research, food intake, proper rest are bigger driving factors than AAS when it comes to body building. But it all depends on your goals, are you tired a lot? Loss of libido? Ect. AAS is typically used to push someone over the top after they hit their peak in body building.
Gold01So, no one sees anything wrong with a 31 year old, almost 32, with a total testosterone of 317, for building muscle?
As Juice said in an earlier post - you are still within normal range in both parameters. You are a 31 year old guy who has been training for 6 years - I personally would not think you have reached your natural peak yet. I started Test after training for over 25 years because I had plateaued in size and strength - even then I trained for about two more years before using AAS.
As many have said here: get your diet in check and maybe take a close look at your training regimen and intensity. Again, IMO, you need to develop as much as possible for as long as possible naturally before going on gear. Of course it's your body, you are old enough to make a decision about using AAS, just be aware that the earlier in life you start using them, the greater the possibility of complications/issues later on in life.
Using gear is like using a credit card: you get what you want, but you eventually pay much more later.
AnonPersonally, I think at 31 years old you're in control of your body and can put anything you want in to it. But what everyone is saying here is advice from experience. Ask some guys that started using AAS before getting their diets in check and natural peak and the general consensus will be that they wish they waited and saved their money.
But your free test numbers look great!
That is if your range is similar to my labs.
Thats what you want to see.
total number isn’t as important.
Gold01My Free Testosterone was 43.3 on a scale of 46.0-224.0 (pg/mL).
we’ll its on the lowish side as far as the scale is concerned...what’s important is how you feel sleep libido etc.....stay on top of your bloodwork with the doc, if trt is needed I’ll assume he will get the ball rolling in that direction
As far as building muscle goes, food is what makes the difference not drugs....yes aas will aid in recovery, increase protein synthesis, blah blah blah, but without the proper nutrition it’s all for not
I would say you have some natty work to get done before going down this rabbit hole my brotha.
Gold01While I appreciate the feedback and advice from all of those who have chimed in, the proof is in the pudding. Both of my total and free testosterone are very low, according to the numbers and I am supposed to continue what I am doing, as if nothing is wrong?
Your looking for an excuse to justify using steroids mate.
You say if your not at your natural potential your close to it????
Impossible to achieve with low t. There is nothing wrong with you so why would need medication?
RustyhookerNo....you find an endocrinologist by referral from your gp. Many things cause low test bro. Not just directly hormones themselves but outside factors as well. Stress, food, medications, estro, prolactin, lh, fsh, thyroid, injury to the testicles via impact or disease etc etc etc.
